  1. I'd say longer. It takes around 3 months to approve EAD/AP these days. By the way, you still haven't gotten your green card or even a date for your interview? It seems like they are really doing some background check on you. Probably a very common Chinese name?

Still FBI name check pending! My name is not that common.... I have no idea how many years it will take. So annoying!

  2. Another week has passed and no news on the green card or even an interview.

I'm happy to have atleast my EAD but it's nice to know when I will get my green card so I know I don't have to worry about anything for another year and 6 months.

How is everyone in February doing regarding on getting there green card ? :)

Still no news! Ombudsman is really useless, they didn't even know my case stuck at FBI name check. FBI replied me to confirm that name check is still pending. Don't know how many years it will take.Senator office is useless too, replied me once and when I email them again and call them, they never reply.
  3. I spoke with tier 2 offer maybe couple of weeks back and she told me that my case is with in normal processing time. Since Philadelphia field office is still processing cases from November 2015. And then when I asked her if my case has been transferred to Philadelphia office, she told me that my case is still with MSC. I wonder what is taking them so long. I attached FBI clearance letter as well with my case, I got that letter before my k1 interview in canada

Don't trust their words! After I received the letter about my service request told me that I stuck at FBI name check, I called them again to ask about my case, they told me my case is in normal process, then I told him that I just received the letter tells me the reason, then he changed his words into FBI name check. Most of the times they don't really look into your case. So I suggest you raise a service request.
  4. oh no that is terrible 0-0

i am gonna call for mine as well to see if mine is still with the FBI, i wonder how they found out cause when i called 2 months ago i was told you have to wait 9 months an thats all they would tell me

I called several times, finally a tier 2 office did a service request for me, then they you mail you a letter to tell you what is happening with your case. Just tell them you need to do a service request, if the office doesn't want to help then hang up and call again to find someone who would like to help you with that, then you will find out the real status of your case.
  5. Is he also from Michigan?

Well, we are all well known that the online update system is definitely not the most reliable one out there. I have also heard from many other who have completed their interviews or even received the cards; however, their online status were still at the initial stage.

I guess just to be patient at this stage. Typical cases in Michigan seem to take around 5 months to complete. Thus, your interview date should be in July. People usually get their interview notice like a month prior. So you are still within the reasonable timeline and should get your interview notice next month probably.

He is from Michigan. The reason makes me worry is I called the uscis 800 number and transfer to tier 2 customer service last Friday , they said my case is still at national benefit center. If it's still at there I don't know how many months I may be transfer to Detroit office and schedule for interview. I am frustrated. If it was at local office or ready for interview, at least I would not worry about REF. For now, I have now idea if they checked my case or not.

  6. Hope so. Haha.

    Any updates on your case?

Just curious, when did you online status change to " Ready for Interview". Mine still remains at "Fingerprint Fee Received" since April 5. I have seen many cases either change to RFIE or Ready for Interview around my priority date but nothing for me. Haha! My EAD and AP should be coming soon in next a couple weeks tho I think.

Michigan is definitely not the quickest one when it comes to scheduling the AOS interview. Some guys from other states who filed in mid-late March have got their interview dates for June already....... errrr, god bless.

I am so worried about my case now, because it never change, most case at the same date with me changed into ready for interview around 29th March or get ref, till now mine is still finger fee received. I have no idea what's going on with my case.

I do have a good news from another person, his priority date is January 17th, mine is Feb. 24th, he adjusted from F1 and his interview was 7th May. Based on his timeline I should have gotten my interview date, instead mine is not even ready for interview. I am so annoyed by this!

  7. OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!

just checked the mail and i got my approval for EAD/AP

this is so amazing , visajourney was right lol

its weird that the site is not updating properlly as the letter i got said i was approved for both on may 4th so i recommend to people who has not got the letter yet to just wait for it to come in the mail :)

Omg! Finally hear your good news! I have been praying for your EAD everyday. Now it finally come true! Congratulations!
  8. 5 - 6 months sound about right for Michigan I think.

Is he adjusting from K1 or other kinds? The question I've always wondered is if there is much difference between K1 filers or other type of filers when it comes to AOS processing time even though they file at the same time at the same filed office. Haha.

That person didn't mention anything about visa type. His timeline is empty. If you need an interview then no matter what visa you have , you will have the same waiting period. His case status changed into ready for interview after a month, but mine never change. So I don't know what is really going on with my case.
  9. Haha. We are wondering about the same question. Michigan here as well. I actually have been using your timeline as reference for a while since I am about 1 month and half behind yours. Just did biometrics earlier this week and now waiting.

Let me know when you receive the interview time; then mine should be around month and half after. Haha!

    Good luck!

It's so hard to find Michigan filers here. I found one the day before yesterday. That person told me he filed around middle of December 2015, and had his interview yesterday(May 05). Just for your reference. That's the latest one that I can find. Good luck!

  10. Today was a very hard day for me

I know I am trying hard to be positive about the EAD/AP an I still am but I just wish it would just come cause as of now I need to get out my husbands family home as the mother is now becoming more controlling and tells me I have to do the cooking and cleaning for her now since I am living in her home rent free and take care of her

Mash, I am so so sorry to hear what happened to you! I know how bad you feel now. I know how hard life could be. But you have to be strong, and I am sure you will get your EAD very very soon. Things will work, everything will change very very soon. I wish to hear your EAD ASAP. Don't let others make you sad. You will gain your life soon. We are all here to support you!

  12. Hello everyone!!

I filled out my AOS on february too and tomorrow I have to go to the biometrics appointment in Elizabeth, NJ. The letter said that we can't bring our cellphones, my husband and I are going in train because is faster for us, do you guys know if there's a locker to leave your things or something like that?? Or should we leave our phones at home??

    Thank you!![/quote

Just turn your phone off and put it in your pocket then.

  13. and the case status says

I-485 Feb 10 Fingerprint Fee was received

I-130 Feb 5 Case was received

I-131 Feb 5 Case was received

I-765 Feb 5 Case was received

even nothin has changed ever since I keep updating it 10 times a day... ;)

I am not sure if the status doesn't change is a good thing or not. I have seen some people post their experiences that their status just changed from received directly into interview is scheduled. And they claim it's the only time that their cases updated!
