    If the ‘Last updated’ date keeps changing, doesn’t that mean someone is opening the file? It has changed four times in last two weeks.

    I was issued a 221(g) after my interview, and I submitted the requested documents. In late November, I was asked to complete a medical exam and submit my passport because the medical exam I had done earlier had expired. On December 17 (about two weeks later), my case status changed from Refused to Ready. Since then, the “last updated” date keeps changing, but the status still shows Ready. Has anyone had a similar experience? What was the outcome?

    She had to live in India for an extended period due to family obligations, but she obtained a re-entry permit that allowed her to return to the United States after her extended stay. She has now returned to the United States and provided all the requested documents to re-establish her domicile in the U.S.

    My mom filed an F2B petition for my brother, but his case was refused by the U.S. Consulate in Mumbai due to a domicile issue, and a 221(g) was issued. All the requested documents were dropped off at the CGI location in Mumbai on September 23 2025. Has anyone experienced a similar 221(g) refusal due to domicile issues? How long did it take for the consulate to review and approve the case after submitting the additional evidence?
