  1. Birth certificates: One original or a certified copy of the birth certificate (copie integrale de l’acte de naissance) is required for each person named in the application. In countries such as France where an updated birth certificate is available, the birth certificate must be less than 3 months old. The birth certificate must state the date and place of birth and the names of both parents. The certificate must also indicate if it is an extract from official records. Birth listings in family booklets (livret de famille) are not accepted."

The wording of this threw me off!

Do they mean each NAME mentioned in the application, or do they mean, if say, my fiance had children and we were applying for him and his children, we would need each APPLICANT'S birth certificate?

    Thanks!

  2. Our K1 Interview Appointment confirmation page reads:

"You must print out this instruction page (√) and bring it with you to your consular interview, along with the letter you received from the Consular Section"
Is the email (attached) with subject line "from the U.S. Embassy Paris -- K visa processing" the email from the consular section that they are referring to above? If no, what on earth are they referring to? I am worried because that is the ONLY email I have ever received throughout this whole process.
If someone could confirm that the e-mail i received is in fact the email we are to bring to the interview that would be amazzzzzing!
    Thanks :D

  3. Hi All!

We are getting excited as my fiancés interview is next week! Yee!

Anyway, I stumbled upon a post that made me wonder...do we need to pay additional fees AT the actual Embassy in paris?

    We already paid for:

    i-129f

    ds 160

    medical exam

We haven't paid for i-134 (affidavit of support) yet since we havent yet been asked to submit it...do we need to submit and pay for that at the interview?

Or do we have to pay any fees to attend the interview itself?

    Thanks a mil!

  4. Hey all,

We are trying to make the Medical appointment for my Fiances visa, and so far, it appears that they are none until two days AFTER our scheduled interview!!!

Low key freaking out, can't lie!

Does anyone have any recent experience with this issue? I am afraid that his visa will be delayed for a long time and I am curious to know, from others who had to return to the embassy a few days after their visa interview to hand in their medical results, how long did it take you to receive the visa once the results were handed in?

Does anyone recommend, or advise against, trying to change the interview date (currently sept 14th),

    Thank you so much!

  5. Hi Dhluong12!

Yes!! That was totally the subject of the E-mail!

I reached out to the Paris Embassy on August 9th in the morning, and I received that email literally later that day! However, now, when I look on the CEAC Status (THANK YOU!) it says "Ready", but that it was updated on August 16...so, after I received packet 3? Does that seem right? But maybe it's like you said, it's sent out in batches and it was a coincidence?

Also, I'm wondering why yours went SO much quicker?

Nevertheless, seriously, thank you so much! We were stressing, but now we're going to go pay and schedule!!!

    Xo

  6. Hi Dhluong12!

Thanks so much for your answer!

I don't even know what the CEAC Status is!!! This could be the piece of the puzzle I am missing, but I haven't even seen that in any of the literature i have found online!

Re: DS-160, we DID submit it because we thought the "Automatically Generated Email" was actually the Packet 3. Did you get your interview date in your Packet 3?? And from the time your case was forwarded from the NVC until the time you received the packet 3 - about how long was it? (Since I dont have the CEAC status yet as a reference point hah)

This is the beginning of the email:

    email2.tiff

    Was this what you received?

    Thanks again!!!

  7. Hi All!

Our case was successfully forwarded by the NVC on July 13 to the US Embassy in Paris.

Since then, we have had NO NEWS and I am so nervous about it because in the letter from the NVC, they state that it may take "several weeks", but nothing about months...

I filled out the "Contact Us" form on the Paris embassy website, giving them our case number, in order to try and receive a status update (I read we should call to make sure they receive our case, but I couldnt find a number...) and they responded with an automatically generated email, which i mistakenly took to be them saying "oops we forgot to send you the steps, here they are" (because i know France, even if it is the US embassy...). Step one was to fill out the DS 160, so we did that, and then we tried to move forward to the next steps, and much to our dismay, we cant schedule the dr's appointment without the interview date, and we have to wait for the interview date to be sent to us..so it feels like there is nothing we can DO to speed up the process.

AND, of course, now I am stressed out that we have filled out the DS-160 without any other information...we havent paid for it yet, but yeah, I am nervous that they will be like "Why did you fill this out without us telling you to?" ... even though they sent me those damn step-by-step instructions!

I guess my questions are -

How long have others waited for this step? (The confirmation that the case has been received by the Embassy in the fiancé's country, especially France)

Does anyone know how to GET a status update on whether it has been received?

And, should I worry about having filled out the DS-160 prematurely? And will this affect our interview date or our ability to pay for filing the DS-160?

THANK YOU SERIOUSLY SO SO MUCH to anyone who can help!

  8. Hi everyone,

I am compiling my proof of relationship using photos, utilities (we live together), and plane tickets....HOWEVER, we only have one set of plane tickets from the last two years...

What I am worried about is the fact that i have 4 boarding passes from this trip - but we lost the FIRST boarding pass for my Fiancé so he only has 3.

Any advice is welcome! Do you think we should just toss out my first boarding pass and submit 3 for each of us? Or would it be better to include it and say that we lost one....

    Thanks!

  9. Hi all!

I read this on the i-129f instrctions:

"Any document submitted to USCIS with information in a foreign language must be accompanied by a full english translation. The translator must certify that the English language translation is complete and accurate, and the he or she is competent to translate the foreign language into English"

    And I wanted to know...

how is a translator supposed to show these things? or, is there a list of official translators accepted by the US govt?

    Thanks so much!!
