Many reasons...
Ineligibility (relationship between you and the US citizen does not qualify - e.g uncle/nephew), USC is underage, marriage is not legal, Adam Walsh Act (the US citizen has committed certain crimes in the past that make him/her ineligible to petition for a family member), previously been banned or removed from the US (although this can usually be overcome with waivers depending on the circumstances and time elapsed), or if they suspect (in the case of a spousal visa) that the marriage has been performed purely to gain a green card (that's why you have to provide lots of proof that the marriage is genuine).
Bear in mind the I-130 is just the first hurdle. The next stage looks at other things that the I-130 doesn't (criminal history of the applicant, financial situation of the US citizen). Having an approved I-130 doesn't mean you will get a visa. There is also the medical exam and the interview to get through.
What are your circumstances? Are you a spouse, parent, child or sibling of a US citizen? What are your concerns?
Im the sibling, a family member said that it may not be that simple as it says on the form and I wanted to have this cleared up.

I am wondering what the reasons are for an I-130 to be rejected, is it simply down to misinformation when filling out the form or can it be something like not having a good enough reason to move to America from your current country?

Is it possible to apply for a H-1B or L-1 Visa when you have a I-130 processing? If not is it possible to cancel the I-130 and just go with a H-1B or L-1?

Better for what? What i your ultimate goal? Student visas and many work visas are non-immigrant visas. Meaning no direct path to green cards.
Good luck
Getting work and then eventually a green card yes.

I am aware of this, I meant to apply for jobs and have the company sponsor me

Would it be better if I studied and went to university/college in the UK in the country I live in now, and then apply for a work visa or go to study in the US and then applied for a work visa when I graduate?

I am wondering what are the job opportunites someone has after they graduate college and start work? Also what are the chances of being able to get a permanent job and then permanent residency/green card?

He is 17, not is school, Brother has petitioned him and looking for a way in before he hits 30 ish.
On the other Board suggested he get an education first.
This is correct however I am in school at the moment, i just don't want to go to University/College but it seems like most employers don't give you a decent job unless you have a bunch of experience or have a degree. Am I correct in saying this?

I am wondering if it possible to get a temporary job and then once it is up possibly have your employer sponsor you to stay permanently?
Thanks

And even if it did work, it's intended for spouses of US citizens so it wouldn't be applicable for a sibling anyway.
So does that only apply for people born in America, not people who have American citizenship but were born in another country?

I have researched applying for a I-130 from my brother but I saw it took at least 10 years. (I live in UK so won't be a huge backlog for my country) I then looked up ways to get into the US quicker and I saw the K3 Visa, I looked on multiple websites and some said it was for a spouse and others said a fiance, I am confused and hoping someone could clear this up for me.Thanks
Why can an I-130 application be rejected?

Just wanted to know if there are any hidden reasons as to why it could be denied but if that is all then I've had it cleared up, thank you
