  1. Thank you for your congrats! (L):D(L)

I dont know about this officer, but he really seems to be a little forgetful...but as long as everything is working out good at the end....Im just happy! And it is kinda nice to see that the officer is just a human being who can forget improtant things like everybody else....

  2. Hi there!!!

Guess what, Im holding my visa in my hands!!!!:dance::dance::dance:

I was kinda worried after the approval at the interview cause the officer forgot to make me sign DS-156 and I completly forgot to ask him about it too.

Im glad that I did ask the officer if I can pick up the visa in person as I work really close to the consulate. (normally they mail it) He agreed and gave me a paper with the pickup date 10/04/06. I went there this morning and I was in there for another 3,5 hours. I had to sign DS-156 and then I got my visa....Im so happy. Now Im really ready to go!:dance::dance:

I thank you again for your great support and I wish everybody waiting all the best and good luck on their visa journey!

    Mimi

  3. Hey guys!

I had my K1 Interview yesterday and got approved.:dance::dance:

Later that day I remembered that there was this form D-156 that you are supposed to sign in front of the officer. Well, he didnt make me to sign it and I was so excited as I got approved, that I completly forgot to ask him about it.

As I was still waiting for the Interview I saw a couple people raising their hands to swear, reading this paragraph.... but I didnt have to do so...

What do you think? Shall I call the consulate and ask about it? My US fiance told me I shouldnt cause the officer is the one in charge and I shouldnt tell him, what to do.... thats about right, but Im just scared that they wont print the visa now and I will get this information when I wanna pick it up and then it will be kinda thight with my flight...

Has anybody been in this situation? Any advice?

    Every comment is appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Mimi

  4. Good luck to both of you!

My fiance (USC) isnt nervous at all, he is excited!!! :D:lol: He is so sure about that it will be fine, I wish he could come with me, but there is a little ocean in between... He would have to catch a flight right now to be here in time... Well, I think I need to do this on my own... Ahhhhhhhh!

    @seldi

The consulat in Frankfurt told me that I have to expect 4-5 hours at the consulate...but maybe it doesnt take everywhere so long... Sounds like you are as nervous as I am... I think it is as hard for the US petitioner to wait for the results of the interview as it is for the alien partner to go there... You guys feel probably pretty powerless, and I have the feeling that all depends on me...

  5. Wow, Im not the only one having this kinda dreams....:devil: I will have my interview tomorrow and im really going crazy...its getting worse and worse for the last couple days... Im sooooooo nervous! :help:

After 9 months waiting the expectations are so high and im so scared to get disappointed again... I dont even know what exactly im worrying about...but what can I say I do...

Ok, I need to stop myself writing more useless information about my state of mind

I wish everybody here good luck and all the best wishes for your interviews, your reunion, your future...for a happy life together!

Good luck!! You should watch cartoons or something silly, it might help

 Yeah, thats probably what I SHOULD do. I think I wouldnt be able to follow the story of a "real" movie.. But: Im at work trying hard to look busy, cause Im absolutly unable to do any work. Cant concentrate at all...

After work I will probably talk all night to my fiance. I doubt that I can find any sleep... And yeah at night there are so many silly shows on TV, or I can just watch these neverending tele shopping channels... :D sounds like fun...

  6. He's in on his way to the embassy!!!!! Last night I had all kinds of dreams about the interview, I dreamed that his visa was denied because he killed my cousin....my cousin he's never met who lives in another country and is very much alive...and then I was taken to prison for it. Ahhh, I'm loosing my mind!! Hope you guys are staying calm :)

  7. Hi Andy,

did you think about contacting your congressman? We were in a similar situation - no approval, no touch, nothing - way after the normal processing times. We contacted a congressman and 2 days later we were approved! i dont think it was a coincidence... I would at least try it on your place. Have a look at our timeline... I wish you good luck and all the best for your future together!

  8. Sorry, I have used the Search Forum section to search for info. on packet 3 and 4 but it say s'Error occurred' and won't let me search.

So could someone please tell me what's in the packet 3 and 4, so I can prepare? I have sent off for my police cert, long birth cert, filled out a DS-230 downloaded from the NVC site. Anything else I can do?

    Many thanks for helping me.

NVC will forward your case to the UK embassy/consulate. They will send you Packet 3. Includes a checklist with documents you will need at the interview and some forms to fill out. After returning the checklist/forms you will get Packet 4 with an interview appointment.

Have a look at the embassy info:

    http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...&cty=London

    Packet 3 contents:

    DS-230-I Part I

DS-156 x2 (Full out online to generate barcode http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/...electronic.html - Add photo to each, do not sign)

    DS-156K (Do not sign)

    DS-157 (Male only)

    IV-15 Checklist

Information on how to book your medical

    Packet 4 contents:

    Appointment Letter

    Instructions for interview/medical

    Medical Questionnaire

Payment slip for £65 for visa processing

Hope that will help you! Good luck!

  9. Hah, isn't that the truth. Don't panic if he says they didn't use the form he came with at the doctor. In Munich, they told my husband that they use something else instead. I have no idea what it was since they sent it directly to the consulate and I didn't see it but apparently it was fine.

I got this vaccination worksheet from the panel physician in Frankfurt. But I had to ask for it at least ten times. And I showed the doctor at least three times that there is printed in big fat letters "Give Copy to Applicant", the answer was always "we usually dont do so..." but at the end I got it! :D

    Good luck!

  10. Hi Jen,

I called the consulat and asked the same question that you are asking right now. You read my post and know that I got the information not to plan anything. But I got at least the information that it normally lasts 5 business days to get the visa. David can ask at the interview if it is possible to pick up the visa in person. Sometimes the officers they yes, sometimes they dont. There are no real rules about it. But it could save some time....Good luck!

  11. Mimi,

The Frankfurt Consulate has been very helpful whenever we have inquired. Have you spoken to someone in the visa processing department? David has only spoken to women when he has phoned... there was a man who answered the main phone number and then transferred him the first time...

I would phone again, tell them what you understand from your previous conversation, explain that you are concerned and would like to be prepared for the interview if there was any additional documentation that was required, and see what they say. Can't hurt.

    Keep us posted!

    Jen

    Hi Jen,

Yes, I have talked to the visa processing department. I have talked to another lady a couple of times because of my fingerprints and some other things. She was always really nice and helpful. I called her again because of the interview, but she told me that now this other guy is working on my case and she connected me with him. As soon as he typed in my case number in his computer and my name showed up he was like "Ah, Mimi XY. Yeah, in YOUR case I wouldnt book any flights...." He is really the one who is responsable for our case. :hehe: I might call again, maybe I get to talk to someone else when he is off... I wished this nightmare would finally be over...

  12. Entry denial is not the same thing as being deported, as you did not make it past the border.

Further, you were able to successfully get a visa after this event.

I cannot explain what the "guy" you spoke to meant by his comments, but you would be better served to find out the truth at the interview.

No need to worry now, until someone actually gives you something legitimate to worry about. Good Luck!!

    Hi there!

I got Pack4 with my interview date at the Frankfurt consulate. I called the consulate to ask how long it will take after the interview to receive the visa. The guy told me that in MY case he wouldnt book a flight or make any plans. I asked why and he answered that there is the possibility I would need further evidence. I told him that I have got everything on the checklist and he just told thats at least good for the beginning. He told me he couldnt tell me anymore and the officer would tell me anything else at the interview. Im completly confused and I dont know what else I could need...Any guess? I appreciate any ideas of additional evidence/documents.

I guess its about my deportation last year. I tried to travel to the States and got denied at the POE. They suspected illegal immigration (I wanted to stay for almost three months and go back to Germany, but they didnt believe me) I applied for a B2 visa right afterwards and proofed (e.g. with a work contract) that I really wanted go back to Germany. They took fingerprints for a FBI background check and I got the visa without problems.

Now they did another FBI background check and I dont know what else they could need. I will definately bring all the evidence I had for the B2 visa and everything on the checklist...but what else?

Please help me! Im pretty desperated...We thought that I will finally get the visa (we filed our petition in January06) and now we are scared again...

    Thanks in advance!

    Mimi

Thank you for correcting me. I guess "Entry Denial" sounds just a little bit nicer than deportation ;) As I came back to Germany after my entry denial a german security officer welcomed me back to Germany and asked me for the reason of my deportation. Thats when I realized I got deported. But now I know I just got denied at the entry.

Well, but thats not really the point.

thank you for trying to calm me down. You are right till now there isnt a reason to worry yet. And till I talked to that guy I thought we are fine... I mean I got the B2 visa, too. I had to explain the entry denial and show evidence for my intentions to come back to Germany. But it was much easier than I expected...

I guess I can do nothing than waiting for the interview...???

If anybody has any other ideas or has been in a similiar situation... please tell me!

    thanks, Mimi
