  1. Hi Everyone.

My wife entered the U.S. on a K1 visa and we recently got married and now we are planning on filing for adjustment of status.
Our problem is: on her Russian passport they spelled her first name wrong: Nataliia. It should be Natalia (With only 1 i). So from the very beginning when I sent in her petition and filled out paperwork for our embassy interview, as well as when she got her visa it was all spelled this way. We also applied for a Social Security card which has her name spelled like that on it too. Our question is: How can we change her first name to the correct spelling without causing any issues? The Social Security office told us we can't change any name on her SS card until we file for adjustment of status. Can we just start using the correct spelling of her name when we file for adjustment of status or do we have to fill out another form or contact USCIS? We aren't quite sure how to proceed. I've tried calling USCIS but I can never get a hold of a live representative. Any suggestions would be great.

    Thanks,
    Ollie & Natalia
