  1. it's been a while i was thinking to join and since i got layed off and i'm sick and tired of going from a shop to another so i started the application to join the national guard

my goal in the guard is to become MP ( military police ) but they require to be citizen for it and i'm eligible in 2011 for this.

Now me and my wife discovered i can't have dual citizenship in the guard as well as in the active army and if i decide to get my american citizenship i'll have to renounce my canadian citizenship and that put me in a huge dilemma.

i want so bad to become MP then do it til my retirement if possible or become a cop after my service...

how many of you would renounce to your citizenship of your country of origin for a career?

  2. I can't see the gun in that picture. Is it camouflaged?

yes it's camouflage finish... here's anothe picture of me and jimbo-cletus

regarding what "justashooter" posted, i'm 100% with you, my gun is safely store at home, unloaded with a lock at the trigger and the safe button at ON... the same thing apply when i have it in my car trunk when i got to the rangeplus every time i manipulate it, i check if it's unloaded even if i know it is... there's a sentence that it keep in mind... guns are always loaded even without any ammo in that means you noeed to manipulate with extreme caution... with this precautions, i'll have more fun challenging myself to do better at the range each and every time i go than having someone's injury or death on the conscience...

  3. well, first of all, it's been a long long time i posted here... well, i finally got my shotgun and discover a new passion. here's my new baby named jimbo-cletus... a Mossberg 835 ulti-mag 12ga

    Shotgun-1.jpg

well first of all, take a look at the state laws and regulations about firearms cause some state won't let legal resident buy a gun, then second, when it's time to fill the paperwork to register the gun at the ATF ( this is done at the gun dealer ), be sure to have in hand ; your SSN, permanent resident card, driver licence and three months of proof of residence... could be utility bills, rent lease with a letter of statement from your landlord no P.O. box... no pay stubs, bank and credit cards statements for some reasons ( wich i found it stupid ) they stopped accepting it

after then, you're ready to blow up stuff or shoot some clay pigeons... hours and hours of fun guarantee trust me

  4. i got the same misfortune at the Kansas DMV and here in Kansas city's suburbs, you need a car or else, you're f***ed. i do walk long distance but buisness here are far... and the bus transit is ridiculously ( sorry for the expression ) shitty...

i had to use my wife's car twice without a licence because she were drunk...

oh well, it's the waiting game i have to play for that too i guess

  5. We haven't had much luck with BoA. :/

My husband's mother occasionally sends checks from Canada; the "holding period" has lasted anywhere from a week to nearly seven weeks.

With the seven week hold, they told us that the money would be in the bank by X date. It wasn't and he had to fight to get the bank of give us back the overdraft fees. While we were waiting for the check to go through, we even got a letter saying that "confirmed sources" had said that the check would bounce which is why they insisted on holding it for so long. #######, right?

We never had *any* problems cashing Canadian checks with our previous bank. They went through right away -- none of this hold nonsense.

    /shrugs

hum.. maybe my case would be different since it's a check from the government *crosses fingers*

but wow, your story freaks me out

  6. i just came back from a Bank of america branch to open a new account...

it's been awsome, i got a friendly and professional serviceand she took the time to explain the services available

i had to show 2 different ID, i don't have a driver licence or any state ID so i show my passeport and my Quebec's health card plus a SAAQ ID, they accepted it

then my first deposit was a check from the Quebec's government... the only thing that sucks, it's they're holding the money for a few day but i'm not complaining, i have now at least a bank account here...

so for those who does'nt know at wich bank to go to open an account, i hightly recommand Bank of america!!

i'm optimist on how things would turn for me here...

  9. Oh, are you taking the bus to go past the border? If so then please tell me how it goes after... I'd take the bus too but I'm a bit reluctant since I'm afraid it will either slow the whole bus down or go without me due to my K1 visa, LOL so I am saving up money for a flight possibly... or hoping to get a ride somehow (though I'm not sure how yet...)

thay won't hold a whole bus for one person... once they'll done with you , they'll make you catch another bus... ( past experience on bad issue with the customs )as buffalo's terminal is at five minutes from the border, i'll call a taxi

it was loooooonnng but the staff and interviewer were really nice and told me to not be nervous... i guess that's it for now...

and my reaction was, once out of the interview room, as the crowd at the waiting were looking at me... i did an "army salute" and said " farewell canada" !!!

the funny thing was, everyone were laughting then asked me how it did go...
