  1. I finally got my visa in the mail and that big scary envelope! Lol! I was just wondering, is my birth certificate and police certificate in it? And do i get to keep the documents? I delivered originals at the embassy and were wondering if i need to order new ones. Any other documents you guys recommend to bring for the AOS?

  2. Hello all,

I was wondering how long it takes for the medical examination papers to be sent to the Embassy? I was hoping we can get my fiancées medical exam done on a Monday or Tuesday and then go to the Interview in Sweden on the Thursday. Thanks for any help!

Btw, they only offer appointments Tuesdays and Wednesdays :-)

  3. Hello all,

KAL-klinikken only used two days before they sent my papers to the embassy, they will email you when they do.

However, i do not know how long it takes until they are actually there, i know you have to pay double the amount for them to send it with express mail.

  4. I read somewhere that the police certificate couldn't be over 6 months old, does anyone know if this is for the interview or for entering the US (like with the medical). I ordered one in February, but my embassy appointment isn't until the end of June. If I'm approved i will most likely move in September. Should i order a new one?

  5. I'm happy to see everyone's progress! Happy times! I just have a quick question about the DS 160, the question "Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?" Is that a no or yes? Lol! And the question about ever getting a cisa - esta doesn't count as a visa since it's just travel authorization??

  6. Great, would be very happy to learn what you find out :-)

Hei! Fødselsattest for deg kan kun inneholde mor og fars navn ved din fødsel. Men mors og fars fødselsattester vil inneholde fødselsdato og fødested. Avventer evt tilbakemelding. Mvh Erling Undeli

That's their reply, so guess they don't provide it. Seems unnecessary bringing parents birth certificate to the interview..

I asked specifically if they could edit it for me and provided them with the right information too..

  7. So, I'm getting everything ready for my interview, and then I realize that my instruction email says this:

BIRTH CERTIFICATE: Your original birth certificate from Norway issued in English. The certificate must state the date and place of birth of both parents and must be from the country where you were born.

Does it really have to state date/place of my parents birth? Doesn't look like Skattetaten offer that. Any Norwegians with any input?

On my English version it only says parents name, i don't know how to get a hold of any other. My best guess is to contact your local fylkesmann, that is where they get issued..

If i remeber correctly you can add a comment when you order it online tho, i will try ordering a new one tomorrow just to be safe ?

  8. We did include the G-1145 and we both have checked our spam mail folders. It just seems weird that it takes this long to hear anything.

Of course I will read up on what I need for the AOS before I leave for the US.

I'm sorry if I came across as rude but I really have read everything I've been able to find and it's very stressful when you don't hear anything for so long.

My guy got the email yesterday with instructions, and my case arrived at the embassy just a few days ago. Call the nvc, just follow the instructions with pressing 1 and 2 and so on, i got through to talk to them in like 10 minutes, then you'll get your case number and you can contact the embassy.

  9. Hi,

You have to order the "full one" - and in fact the Norwegian Police even issues one particular type special designed for US visa applicants. You just have to pick that one when you order online. Super easy, I for mine in less than two weeks :-)

Thank you! I found the one for the US visa, after i already ordered two others. Oh well, can't get egnough police certificates!

  10. I didn't send any chat logs or call logs for my application - but had a few selfies with it. Why don't you just face time and screen shot that? I think it's more important for the actual interview than the i129f to document ongoing relationship.. i wouldn't bother sending out more than a couple of pages of log and focus more on sending proof of visit through airplane tickets and passport stamps..

  11.

The above is not for you there will be no fee that way.

Hope it comes soon for you I am excited to see how fast they are at the embassy! ... And what the earliest date for an interview slot what that would be if you will look when you book ;)

Phew! I don't feel like getting more fees than i already have to pay! :dancing:

I'm exited to see too...!! Haha, I'm excited about everything, waiting is terrible! I'll be sure to post when i get that far - if you don't get in front of me in line somehow :D

  12. After my NOA2 (Dec 21/15), I received my NVC Welcome letter in the mail a few weeks later. The Affidavit of Support Fee Invoice was enclosed.

All instructions on what to do next was clearly stated in the letter. However, don't know if things are different for you because my visa category is IR-5.

Thank you! I will just wait and see i guess, i can already see from people who got their NOA2 the same times as me that things move pretty fast, so I'm crossing my fingers :-)

  13. Yes you are. and you'll be able to go home with him. No more goodbyes, hate those!

Okay, maybe you should here some of the older members of what if required as a self employed :)

He'll be going back home before my consulate appointment, at least that's the plan right now, because i still have to quit my job after i get approved *crossing fingers*, and i got a three month agreement before i can leave unfortunately, but at least we'll have great evidence for a ongoing relationship! Lol!!

And that's a good idea, thank you so much! And the best of luck with your application! We're only days apart, I'll be anxiously following yours too! (No, I'm not a stalker) ;-)

  14. We were debating on if he should come or not, it seems dumb when we're this close to the goal. He is self employed, and don't get pay stubs, so the only documents he has for his income is tax reports (he's filing for 2015 before he comes), but he also has has his saving account/ trust fund to attach. Worst case scenario he gets a co sponsor. It's definitely going to be good having him with me during the waiting process, I'm very lucky :-)
