  1. Hi! I am in a similar situation as you were with your husband a while back I wanted to ask about your personal experience in Honduras because my husband just received his approval for the i601a and he will soon have his interview. I wanted to know how much time you were there for how long it took for after your husband was approved for his visa for him to get it. I would greatly appreciate any information as we are nervous for this next step

So I was in Tegucigalpa for 12 days, my husband received his visa about 7 days after our interview. I had to leave because I had to get back to work(I left 2 days after the interview), but he stayed an extra 3 weeks to visit with family. He had his medical exam the day after we arrived, and got his paperwork for the day before his interview. You will need the police certificate from the DPI (which we didnt know about until a month before our interview). They will take the police cert from somewhere else when you file your DS260, but you will need a police cert from the DPI for the interview. It only took us about 45 minutes to get that. We stayed at Hyatt Place, which is about $120 a night, a really nice hotel in a safe area and only a 5 minute walk from the Embassy. If you have any more questions feel free to ask! Most people on here deal with Mexico, so its hard to find someone who has dealt with Honduras.

Thank you so much! It is soo good to hear from people who are going through the same thing and place as us. So once they receive their visa are they officially residents of the U.S. Or is that until reentry? Did your husband file for the I-601a? Also, did your husband have to file for an affidavit of support? & if he did what supporting documents did he take

      with him to the interview?
