  1. My interview was at 10:45 today, I got there 2 hours earlier lol, went into the office at 9:45 and was given a red sheet to wait till about 30 minutes before my interview, at 10:15 I was checked in. I was called by my IO at 11. He started with the civic test : 1. name one branch of government? 2.how many supreme court justices do we have? 3. what did the declaration of independence do? 4.we elect US senators for how many years? 5. what does the president cabinet do? 6. if both the president and vice president can no longer serves who becomes president?. Then he asked me to read When is Columbus Day? and I wrote Columbus day is in October. then we went over my application and he got to the part about citiation I told him I got one after I filled out my application and I gave him the payment of the citiation and he added it to my document and said "YOU HAVE PASSED!!!!!!!!". I asked about the oath and he said there was a ceremony at 1:30pm and if I wanted to join and I said yes.

So I am done with USCIS . I am an American citizen . yipeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you guys . I wish everyone all the best.

  2. Thanks folks. She was tough but I was not going to be intimidated. She perhaps was in a rush to dismiss me. Right off the bat! The acting supervisor had a different take. There is a provision that kinda create an exception for couple living apart due to career situation. I hope my case got a favorable review. Will keep everyone posted.

Osune22 am also a little concerned because am filing under the 3 year rule, did she know you live apart because you stated it in your application? I think I saw someone state in one of the old posts decision was not made during her interview because they lived apart I wish I could find the post so you could see how she handled it. my husband and I don't live apart but all we have together are tax returns, lease, renters insurance and life insurance. hopefully that would be enough.

  3. Had my interview and oath ceremony today and received my naturalization certificate.

I was scheduled for 9 am at Denver. Got there at 8:40 and went through security where they made me remove my belt, shoes, wallet, fitness tracker etc and scanned them through. Waited until 9:05 and they called my name.

He started with the civics and language tests and here are the questions :

    1) What does the declaration of independence do?

    2) Name one branch of government?

    3) Name 2 US holidays?

    4) What does the judiciary do?

    5) Who was the first president?

    6) How long is a senator elected for?

I was chewing gum and while on the third question, he noticed that and said I can't do that and got up, brought the trash can to me and asked me to spit it out. I did and said sorry.

Got all of that right and he asked me to read "When is Columbus day?" and then write "Columbus day is in October".

After that, made me stand up and do the oath and then started with the yes/no questions. All of them were straight forward. He asked me if I was over 26 when I got my green card and I said yes and he didn't ask anything further. This was about the SS registration, I guess. I'm over 36 as well.

While he was signing and stamping some papers, he asked about my family and talked about a state school that we(Interviewer and I) both went to. Once he was done stamping, he gave me a paper asked me to read and sign it and said he was recommending me for approval. He also gave me the oath letter for 1:30 in the afternoon.

The whole interview took exactly 9 minutes and he never asked for any document other than my passport and green card. I had a huge binder full of stuff.

We went out had some food and went to friend's house nearby and went back at 1:30 for the oath ceremony. Total of 41 people and it went fast. Probably took 40 minutes. They took our oath letter(filled out) and green card and after the ceremony gave us the naturalization certificate.

I will apply for my passport tomorrow.

    So that's it.

Thanks to every one who contributed to this thread and others here on the forum who shared valuable info that made this process so much easier. Those who are still waiting, I hope everything goes as smooth as it possibly could and you will all get there soon. I will be checking this thread to see how everyone is doing and if any one has any questions or me, feel free to ask and I will try my best to answer them.

    Congrats !!!

  4. So I received 2 mails from uscis today, one stating " due to unforeseen circumstances ur interview has been rescheduled " and the second one was another interview letter for the April 4th at 10am. As the saying goes becareful what u wish for I was complaining of my afternoon interview on the 22nd of this month. But hopefully I get the same day oath ceremony in Baltimore ??. Please change my interview date to the 4th. Bitter sweet feeling.

  5. I'm reading my interview instructions and it says:

"NOTE: Unless a traffic incident was alcohol or drug related or caused serious personal injury to another person, you do not need to submit documentation for traffic fines and incidents that did not involve an actual arrest if the only penalty was a fine of less than $500 and/or points on your driver's license."

I know we've had a lot of discussion about our traffic tickets in the past so wanted to share the exact words from the instructions I'm seeing.

I also did not know I needed to bring my children's birth certificates! I wouldn't have even thought of that though it makes sense. Eek!

i live in maryland but recieved a speeding ticket in virginia and was fined $470 , my license has been suspended in VA since i still havent paid for this ticket. do you think im safe or maybe should i just go pay and get documentation for it? safe than sorry
