Hey all! My wife and I just married 2 weeks ago in Hawaii (where I'm stationed) on a K-1 visa and are now working for her AOS. I'm in the Navy and we were granted Christmas leave, where I want to take her home to Virginia with me for the holidays. Her K1 visa expires on December 16th but we will definitely have the I-485 packet submitted prior to leaving, but I'm afraid that she would be flagged at the airport (even for intra-US travel) due to the expired visa. Any help would be much appreciated! This websie is one of the only reasons we're together now, the VisaJourney community rocks!

My application took about 3 months for the NoA2 from the Cali service center, if you received your NoA1 you should have your WAC receipt number as a reference when you call to inquire about the status. They're usually pretty helpful and answer calls or emails pretty quickly.

Have you read the very helpful guide on VJ? http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide
Yes but it doesn't mention the DS-160 anywhere which I found odd. It might help everyone to know my fiancé is coming from Thailand. Thanks for the help!

I've spent the past 2 months putting together my I-129f petition and with the help of this site I'm ready to send it on Monday. I understand the process fairly well by now but what I'm having difficulty in finding is when exactly my fiancée needs to complete her online DS-160. From what I'm reading it needs to be completed after the NOA2 is received but I want to be sure. Thanks for all the information and support!
Wife's Thai Passport will Expire Soon
in Thailand
Posted
Hello all! My wife's Thai passport is going to expire soon. She has her 2 year green card and we have already gotten biometeics done for the 10 year lifting of conditions. I know she needs to maintain a valid passport for the green card to be valid, but I am in the military and sending her back to Thailand just to get a passport is going to be very difficult. Does anyone know what our options are stateside? We live in Washington state and I see they have a consulate in Los Angeles. We are just looking at options. Thanks guys!
