Thanks to all my people at VJ I got my green card last week. Approved 77 days. I went to Social Security Office and they told me their system is not updated with my status. They had to sent a verification letter to immigration. Has anyone experienced that?
-
Wow, congratulations! What status did you adjust from?
From F1 student visa. I was married 5 years ago but at the time did not see the need to adjust. After we learnt about D.O.R.A we got an apartment in Dallas just to file. It all worked out really well.

I got the following email from CRIS:
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.
On March 30, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.
When will my card arrive anyone? After the card how do I apply for a social security card in Dallas? Will they give it to me right there?

Just got the green card in the mail today but the middle name is misspelled. We called them at 3 weeks ago when they sent the RFE to tell them that they spelled her middle name incorrectly. When they sent the first RFE everything was correct all until the second. So my question is will we be able to get a social security # so we can finally file taxes or not? Any help would be appreciated. Too bad Mdyoung is not around
You say middle name misspelled did they put your whole middle name or just your middle initial? If it's just middle initial your good to go. SS office should give it to you.

Can anyone give the ## I can call to check whether my fingerprints cleared or not? I did my biometrics in Fort worth/dallas area.
-
On the day I was suppose to go for my fingerprint, I was given a speeding ticket by an officer. I then went for my fingerprint. Today they told me I just had to attend the defense driving school and it will be removed from my driving record but they also put me on deffered disposition (meaning for the next 90 days I cannot get any traffic tickets). Does this appear as a crime on my background check? Will course a name stuck in fbi records?
help me please.

So if they had your initial when you apply for your social security # and other documents how do you apply? I mean if they are not using all names

Did they put you first, middle and last name on your green Card? Or just your first and last name?

I am an F1 student. I have been out of school for financial reasons my sponor died. I got married 3 yrs ago to a US citizen and still remained on an F1 visa. Now my husband and I just filed my papers. I got my ED card and Advance Parole. My visa stamp expired but my I-20 and I-94 have not expired. I would like to visit my country. Question: While I am there do I extend my student visa or the AP should allow me back in the country even though my visa expired last year. What visa do I enter the country with? I am confused!!

Filing for son while overseas.
in Bringing Family Members of Permanent Residents to America
Posted
My husband is a permanant citizen. I just got my 10 years permanent residency. When we filed my green card through D>O>R>A we did not have enough money to file for my son. Now we have enough to file for him. We left him back home with my husband's mother. What do we do? Do we bring him on a visitor's visa. Or do we just file through the embassy?
WE JUST WANT TO GET THE PROCCESS STARTED. MAYBE IN A YEAR WHEN OUR MONEY IS STRAIGHT WE CAN BRING HIM ALSO.
