so have you already gone through the K1 visa process and now onto the AOS?

If you are doing the K1 you do not need the I-864 you need the I-134.

Either way you need to submit your most recent tax return. If you are not able to file the 2016 yet then your 2015 is classed as your most recent :)

It is for our AOS, so I need I-864, correct?

    thanks

  2. No. CRBA is done at the Embassy (the C in CRBA). Get it started now because the embassy will not issue the visa until this is completed, you don't need additional delays later.

Thank you for the info! I've recently accepted a new position in New York. Will I need to go to the embassy in Japan or can my fiancé living in Japan do it?

  3. Were you a USC at the time of the children's birth? If YES then you need to complete the CRBA (Consulate Report of Birth Abroad) process for each as they can not get a visa being they are USC, they will have U.S. passports.

Yes, I am a US citizen and I have filed the report of birth at the city hall in japan.
