  1. My topic is far from visas or immigration but I need help and answers here please. I took up Bachelor of Nursing in the Philippines. I finished all major subjects on 2009 but wasnt able to graduate because of not completing some of my minor subjects. My question is that... Does California have a certain number of years until they could accredit the units I took from the Philippines? What Im trying to say is, are the subjects that I took still going to be credited even though a couple of years have passed? Because I wanted to pursue my nursing career if possible. Your replies would be deeply appreciated. Thank you so much.

  2. Is this something you desire to do, change their last name, or is this something that he is "demanding". If you change their names there is a good possibility that this will shine badly if you have any parental dealings in the future.

We'll need a little more information about your desires. You may need a lawyer and this will be costly and time consuming. I don't know as I am not a lawyer, nor do I know all the facts to your case. That is why I am asking the questions in red.

Hi. We were never married. My kids was with him eversince then because when were together, I was the one who works and he was the one who stays home and look after them. My kids are used to him and his family. He wants to their last name changed to his because of the benefits he could get and give the kids too, like his social security and health insurance for the kids. About the consul, I really dont have the idea about it because they just keep on telling me to asked for a consul to sign the authoriZation paper from me, to which I have no idea of. Im really doubtful of doing it coz in the end I might have problems in dealing with my rights as a mother to my kids.

You should contact the Philippine consulate that represents the area where you live. In your case that is Los Angeles. I am not sure if they charge a fee to provide notary service or not.

Ill try to call them today and ask about the case. Thank you for the reply.

  3. Hi everyone. I have a question regarding my situation. I have 2 kids in the Philippines who stays with their father. Before moving here we had an agreement that the kids will be under his provision. Now, just recently, he wants to change the last names of kids under his. To be able to do that, they are asking for a letter of consent that proves that he is the biological father. Do you have any idea how can I have my letter signed from a consul? Because that is the requirement from their country (Philippines). And do I have to pay for anything? Your help and answers would really be appreciated. Im from San Diego, CA btw.

  4. Can someone help a friend of mind he been waiting for his green card and it been 114 days

It would be best if he calls the uscis hotline and follow up on his case. He can also tell that it has been 114 days since he was approved. Im sure they have an answer for him.

Im in the same boat with you guys...

I DID apply for AP, and EAD... they got approved a while back, never got the card, and am not expecting them since the greencard got approved a week ago...

Guy told me to call in a week to ask the tracking number "your card isnt being produced yet because there are issues producing the cards" HURRAY

So im allowed to work for a long while now... But I got no cards! Its so frustrating!

But i asked the officer if it bothers them if i call every week n her answer is "not at all!" :) so I know what ill be doing every wednesday :)

And I am sooooo ready to join the military but i need that card in my hands!!!!

Goodluck to all of us and praying we will all receive it soonest!?

  5. At the interview the lady told me I should have the card within 10 days, then that letter came in stating it's gonna be 3 weeks, now they are saying 60 days, it just doesn't make any sense, I suppose they are THAT busy with the green card mass production haha, I just hope we all get it soon. I wanna visit my family back home this summer and I haven't applied for advanced parole either, so it better hurry up and get here haha.

Lets pray that we'll receive it soonest.:) ill update you whenever I received anything. I kept on checking my status online. Im actually not in a hurry but its always best if we have our greencards wherever we go.:) goodluck to us. I hope youll have it before summer so you could go and see your family.?

  6. I am in a similar situation, had my interview on the 28th of April and got approved. I called USCIS yesterday and the lady told me that it can take up to 60 days to receive the green card since they have a lot of them to produce, waiting sucks.

Its just weird. Coz my friend has a schedule with a later date but last week she just got her greencard. It took exactly a week before she received it. Well, whatever the reason is its just weird.

  7. same here i wa approved the 27th april and got my welcome letter but no update until now... :((((((

I called them. The agent even told me that the office still decides if im really approed. I told him that i received a letter saying that I am approved and they will mail me the green card within 3 weeks. Its kinda weird but he told me that if I received a letter then I am surely approved. I just need to wait longer.:(

  8. Hope,USPS did not loose your mail.If they did then you will be in trouble. Btw make friends with the postman. It's possible that it is on the way and you will get it very soon.

I hope not. Been waiting for it. I got other packages from the mail but not of them was my greencard.:(

Did you receive other updates about card production and then it being mailed and able to track it?

I only got the letter saying that my case was approved and that I will receive it within 3 weeks. My friend got her interview last week, and today she got her greencard.

  9. Hi everyone. I got my interview for my greencard last April 29, 2016 and was approved. I even received a letter from USCIS saying that my case was approved. But 3 weeks had passed and still I havent received any greencard from the mail. Anyone with the same experience? Is there something should I be worried about? Your replies would really help. Thank you in advance!?

  10. Hi everyone. I just have a question. When does your uscis case status updates? I got my interview for my green card last friday and was approved (thank God!???). but when I checked my case status today, it still says my interview date. Any idea how long it gets updated and how long should I receive my green card. Im from San Diego, California btw. Thank you so much for the help!?

  13. https://www.bdo.com.ph/support-topics/vi-internet-banking-requesting-special-services/wire-transfer-there-service-charge

Psst! Other direction. Philippines TO the USA

(BTW no charge with REMITLY unless you do instant transfer)

Ok i will tell them to inquire to remitly. I would prefer the no charge as long I get the money even if I wait for a few days. Thank you so much Hank! I feel relieved!?

    Thanks also to everyone's reply!?

  14. Doing the opposite of what most do.

BDO offers a wire transfer service, I would think most banks offer wire transfer

Do you know how much it coz if i do that? Thank you.:)

The majority of people use xoom.com or remitly.com. There is a way to also remit money directly to a bank acct in the Philippines through your bank acct here.

I will let them know that. But i hope it doesnt charge too much.

  15. Hello everyone. I would like to ask if anyone from the Philippines had done money transfer to the US? I need to find a cheap or free service that would do that. Western union is way expensive when youre going to send a big amount of money from the Philippines. I hope you could give me idea regarding this. Thank you in advance!?

  16. hi

no, he doesn't need to adopt her, he will file as stepfather

if she would have come with you on a K2, once you were married, she would have adjusted status because her stepfather petitioned her

since she didn't come with you, he will file the i130 for her to come as his stepdaughter

    no need to adopt her

Ohhh okay. So he needs to file for i130 and state there that he will file as a stepfather. Bit confusing now since its been awhile since I filed for that for my K1. But ill make sure Ill understand it so we can file asap.

Thank you so much. I feel so relieved.?

  17. hi

your husband should file for her, it is quicker as he is a USC, the petition will take a year

if you file for her, the petition will take 2 years

what about her father, do you have custody of your child?

Thank you for the quick response.

My daughter was from a past relationship. Her dad and I was never married but my daughter carries her last name. My daughter doesnt received any kind of support from her father.

What do you think would be the safest way to do in her case?

  18. Hi everyone. I was under K-1 but was married last July 2015. My question is, can I petition my daughter? I believe that I wasnt able to place her name on my K-1 application because I was still undecided if I'll bring her right away or not. Can anyone help me about this? Because my daughter finally decided that she wants to stay here with me. Btw, she is only 10 yrs old. Thank you un advance for your help and opinion!?
