  1. beharrr thanks. the first consul asked me for New Police Certificate , told her I don't have. I thought ill have a problem then.

But in the final interviewer ddnt ask any documents other than pictures. and he approved me.

i will be going for my interview very soon as i am waiting for interview date in abudhabi.can you tell me how old was your police clearance?mine is almost 5months now
  2. As far as the I864, you are not out of the woods. You will need what they requested and bring the originals and copies to the interview. The interview officer will determine if what you provide is sufficient or not. The results will either end in approval or a delay until you provide sufficient information. If you are unable to provide sufficient information/documents, then eventually, it will end in denial.

    ok thanks
  3. Yes this means Case Complete and you are to bring everything to the interview. Nigeria has nit completed it's March Interview scheduling.

But you should call NVC to get your Case Complete date. Congratulations. And make sure your I-864 are corrected and all documents submitted.

And just for correction sake NVC doesn't approve anything. They collect and review and accept out documents. The Embassy has final say on your documents.

Do you by chance see 3 NA's (AOS will have changed from PAID to NA) 3 NA's also is the trigger to know you have Case Complete.

Now you wait for interview. I will add you to the spreadsheet.

Come on over to the interview thread.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/583970-case-complete-to-interview-march-2016/page-47#entry8005908

By the way, what is the date of the email letter? The Case Complete is actually 7 days from that day. But like I said call and verify.

ok thank u very much,we just called, they said we should send other things needed in the checklist for my case complete and take the corrected support to the interview
  4. .

this is the letter i receive from nvc,From i864,Assesment letter, the national visa center recently reviewed your i 864 affidavit of support form.the affidavit of support form have one or more session with missing or incorrect information or was missing required supporting document or both

Please review the instruction below to complete a new affidavit of support form or to obtained the missing supporting .send the corrected affidavit of support form or original document that are missing to the principal applicant so he or she can take them to the interview.Failure to take the original document and copies for each family member to the interview can cause processing delays.the consular officer will review the corrected updated forms and document at the time of interview.

you do not need to contact nvc at this time. Also,do not an updated i864 affidavit of support form or documents to NVC.After we schedule immigration visa interview,we will send you an appointment letter

    Note

We ve some areas in i864 to be corrected which we did and does this letter mean i am aporoved?and since 21st of jan ,there is no CC on ceac website

  5. Regardless,

You will want to be as prepared as possible so that if the officer does not accept assets or something, that you will have Plan B to fall back on. I personally would prefer to have everything ready to go as far as a joint sponsor at the interview ... I'm not happy with delays and waiting longer than needed. but it is your choice.

  7. First off, if your joint sponsor lives alone, he or she files for a household of TWO. The joint sponsor and the intending immigrant. The USC is not counted as part of the joint sponsor's household unless the USC is a dependent of that joint sponsor.

To use both assets and income the joint sponsor fills out their annual income under part 6.2 and again under part 6.15, then under part 7 the joint sponsor would put any assets they have. Since your joint sponsor's using land, you fill out the appraised value of the land minus any loans/mortgage on it under part 7.2 and 7.4. This asset amount must be five times the difference between the joint sponsor's income and the federal poverty guidelines for his/her household size.

Besides the usual evidence/proof needed from the joint sponsor, for the assets, he or she also needs to submit the appraisal of the land, deed or anything showing proof of ownership as well as a letter from the bank showing whether or not there are any loans.

Also remember that it's up to the discretion of the CO whether or not to accept assets in lieu of income. You might wanna have another joint sponsor lined up, just in case.

You will want to be as prepared as possible so that if the officer does not accept assets or something, that you will have Plan B to fall back on. I personally would prefer to have everything ready to go as far as a joint sponsor at the interview ... I'm not happy with delays and waiting longer than needed. but it is your choice.

thank you very much for yoir assistanse,i will do as u be said.thanks and may God bless you
  9. The letter says "you may need a joint sponsor", doesn't it? That's what our letter said and when we had our interview, the embassy seemed to accept us using assets, as they have asked us to send a little more in-depth information on them before they issue the visa.

    - Either you can have a joint sponsor sign an i-864, get an IRS transcript etc and send to the person going for the interview. Then you prepare all the backup for your assets to bring too. Then once you're at the interview you present your assets and if the embassy say they won't accept them, you say you have a joint sponsor and hand over all that information. OR.....

    - You have a joint sponsor on standby but don't ask them to do all the work yet. Go to the interview and hopefully they accept your assets but if they don't and say you need a joint sponsor, you'll get a 221(g), you go home and ask your joint sponsor to do the i-864 and IRS transcript etc and send to the embassy with your 221(g) letter.

We did option two because it was just too much work for our joint sponsor having filed taxes as married filing jointly and all that if it wasn't necessary plus from reading on VJ and being in contact with the US embassy in Sweden, there was a high chance they would accept assets. So I suggest you read up on your embassy to see if they seem to be favorable to assets or not. Have a look at the Q&A or FAQ part of the US embassy in your country, as that's where we found out how our embassy felt about assets.

Good luck. Hope you have a smooth interview process.

ok thank you very much for your time,i so much appreciate your timely reply,i will d9 as you said and be prayerful.thanks
  10. So it states that you will need a sponsor to fill out a new form, as a joint sponsor, and then bring it to the interview ... this includes the form and any and all financial documentation and evidence.

does this really mean a new sponsor or i just need to add one more sponsor?should i have a case complete to proceed for interview with the new sponsor i864?or should i submiy a new sponsor back to nvc?
  11. We received this exact same notice after being told our case was closed. We were expecting the next contact from NVC to be our interview date but got this instead. We have many times the required assets so getting this notice was a shock. I called the NVC and was told that the interviewer at the consulate decides whether or not to grant a CR1 visa based on assets alone. The NVC rep said they send that letter out to all asset-based filers so they can have a co-sponsor ready at the interview "just in case."

They also asked us for a police report that we already have (with nine months remaining on its validity).

ok thanks for the information,i am confuse about this letter as i dont if nvc want me to still wait for case close or look for another sponsor to file i864,i ve already on the look for a New sponsor maybe before my jnterview date,my old sponsor who is shot of 7000 can be able to combine her new job which will be 6months by june, what do you think?
  12. While a DL and SSN don't directly show that a person is a citizen, there are other databases that are availiable to agencies to check, otherwise no illegal immigrants with fake id would ever get deported. But some older people do not have birth certificates and can't get them. My mom doesn't have one. She has a birth card. It is literally that a paper card, the size of a credit card.

If he is that elderly, one would easily find him registered in selective service from the draft if he was born here.

    Is he, by chance, Gullah?

ok thank you for your time.we are trying to order it online,i so much appreciate your urgent reply.thank you
  13. Yeah, I agree with the above poster. I know some undocumented persons here in NY who have both a SSN and a driver's license. It doesn't necessarily indicate that he's of legal status or a US Citizen.

He doesn't have a US passport?

Also this site says you can order them online: http://www.scdhec.gov/VitalRecords/BirthCertificates/

thank u for your time and this useful information,i so much appreciate.thanks
  14. I googled it and his birth cert can either be ordered online or through sending a letter with a check and a copy of his ID to the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control. They have birth records saved since 1915.

Don't trust what NVC says, SSN and a driver's license doesn't prove that he's a USC.

thank u very much,i am searching for it now

  16. My cosponser is old and above 75years old,he was born in south carolina and presently he is living in florida,as my cosponsor on i864,we need his proof of US citizenship but we could not find his birth certificate and when we approach the court ,we were told that he can only get it in south carolina which is impossible for him to go right now,we called nvc and we ask if we can submit his driving license and social security and they said yes,we are mailing the document for a first checklist,we dont want another checklist,we dont know if nvc customers services are lying to us in order to get another checklist.can someone help us on what to do?thanks as i expect your answers

  17. Refer to the instructions for filling out a I864 to know what required information and documents you need.

    http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864instr.pdf

If you still have trouble filing out the form ... or if it is complicated, you should ask the assistance of someone who knows what they are doing or hire a professional immigration lawyer.

thanks for your assistance,i appreciate your effort.you ve guild me in the right path

i so much appreciate ypur time and your effort, you ve actually a solution provider,i am totally satisfied with your write up,i will be lining up a standby joint spinsor should the co refuse or ask me to get another one,the person who was my sponsor before have 2 different jobs which can be use and they are above the required poverty guildline but we cant use them now because he is just 2months in the second new jon and that is the reason i am using this present joint sponsor,i will take your advice very serious and work out what is need to be done, once again i appreciate your effort.thanks
  19. Your household number will be 3, you, your stepdad, and your wife. If you have any children whom you live with, they will count as well.ok thanks.but nvc say this

As far as the cousin, I'm not quite sure if you will need to notify NVC that you don't want to use the cousin anymore and then resubmit using your stepdad's information ... I'm sure you do not intend to have both your cousin and stepdad be joint sponsors at the same time. That part is beyond my knowledge ...I

My gut feeling would be to call the NVC and inquire.

If the NVC said that your application was denied, then resubmit your I864 over again along with the new joint sponsor's I864. If you just received an RFE, then I think you can just submit the I864 from your stepdad.

I would wait and see if anyone else responds to this post to get better clarification and advice, but with my experience, that is what I'd do if no one else responded.

ok thanks.nvc say this ing submitted for this case and mailed to the address provided.

    ______F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________

We reviewed the Affidavit of Support documentation you sent to the National Visa Center (NVC). According to the current poverty guidelines, it does not appear you or any of your sponsors meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrant(s) for this petition. To avoid delays, you may have an additional sponsor complete an Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) and provide it to the intending immigrant to submit at their interview. At that time, a consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement.

To view the current poverty guidelines, go to http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864P.pdf.

For tips on completing Form I-864, go to http://www.uscis.gov/forms/tips-filing-form-i-864-a with other iterms they ask us to submit
