  1. Does she need a SS number to get married in your state?

We got married in US while I was visiting from Australia....I didn't need a SS number.

No, I think we will get married in Las Vegas, not Utah. I think it is harder to get SS # if we are married and she has my last name, because she has no papers(passport, etc.) with my last name on it. thanks

  2. Hi,

I am a little confused(nothing new,of course)about Social Security steps. In the K1 guide section, it looks like that should be the first thing we do after Cindy arrives. But, when you go into "step by step" section, it says not to do this until 2 weeks after arrival because they will not have her in INS info until this point.

My plan was to get married right away. Of course, this is me being impatient after 8 months of planning and paperwork. Please point me in the right direction. thanks, Ron

  3. Hi,

Well, after a week of freaking out, received RFE in mail, checked one box(no marriage broker)and express mailed it back(with RFE in red marker front and back). Somebody signed for it Friday afternoon. We'll see what happens next. Thank you all for allowing me to vent frustration of not getting mail from CSC. Even though my email said that it was mailed on 9/13, the actual postage mark was 9/18, uhm ok........ thanks

  4. After 3 months of nothing, CSC finally sending rfe, which I guess is IMBRA form? It seems on timelines that I have seen that things start moving after they get this back. I hope so.....

Have faith, Cindy and I have been having tough time last few weeks with no activity at all on our application. Now, hopefully things will move, thanks

  5. It has been 2 months since NOA1(June 12) and when I log on to USCIS, the last time case was updated was June 15. I have not received RFE, which I guess everybody gets for IMBRA, right? Anyway, I see other cases with similar date to mine, and they have already received RFE and sent it back. On one hand, I am hoping that I have not heard anything because all papers were in order. On the other, its lost in a drawer. thanks for help

  6. I am still a Newbie to VJ and before filing, read and used all VJ's guides, past forums, and personal posts. Our petition seems to be kciking off pretty good with a wierd NOA1 from CSA even though I sent to NSC. Yes I know it will be sent there but I never even got a notice that it "Would" be sent and that quick? I just got an NOA1 from CSA. See my time line.

Question: I've read about "TOUCHES" and didn't think much about it. Until! shortly after my NOA1, I happened to login for a 2nd time later that day and WHAM! I had been touched  Didn't see it coming :hehe: My problem is that now I think I'm addicted to the USCIS.GOV web site just checking for Touches  If this is realy a disease maybe I could find help through a good USCIS 12 step "TOUCH" program! Anybody else have this affliction? Maybe I have already found the group meeting but it's anonymous so no one will tell me :D

Thanks to all who may reply to this strange sickness of behavior

Be careful. My receipt date was 6/12, then somebody did something on 6/15. Since then, nada. No RFE or anything. First step"I am powerless over CSC and USCIS".

  7. They're no longer processing I-129Fs. They are all being forwarded to California.

This does not sound like good news. Nebraska gave me a receipt date of June 12 on my NOA1. I was hoping that Cindy might have the visa by December. Will this move to California Center add a lot of time?thanks
