Sorry to hear that,
the affidavit of marriage support can be written by those who signed or witness your marriage in the civic court ,at least three people will be ok
Thank you.
-
Sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties. I will list additional documents I used. It may help.
- Affidavit of Marriage Form (I had three immediate family members sign the affidavit, had it notarized, and sent photocopies of their IDs)
- Statement of Authorized user of credit cards (yes, Bank of America and CitiBank, will allow you to add your spouse as an authorized user to your credit card account without SSN# ... not all financial institutions will allow that)
- All records of communication including WhatApp chat log, facetime/skype logs, and emails
Honestly, they like to rely on joint finances (bank accounts and credit cards) the most during these cases on the sense that couples in a fraudulent marriage will not share finances. I hope you overcome this obstacle.
Thank you Incinerate.246. I will definitely start finding out today whether Capital One will allow me to add my husband as an authorize user on my credit card. I did not think of immediate family members writing a notarized letter, I believe that's what you meant by affidavit of marriage form. Question about that, does the family members have to know only of our marriage or did they had to have attended our small civic wedding as well? And the immediate family could it be from both sides or only my side? Thanx in advance. I appreciate everyone's kind words and suggestions.

Do you have anything jointly? Is he on your life insurance as a beneficiary? Was any of the items you listed above sent in prior?
No we don't have anything jointly. I don't have life insurance. The items I listed I never submitted during the filing of the I-130 because I did not have enough record I thought. The only thing I submitted with the I-130 petition was our wedding pictures, casual pictures and our marriage certificate and USCIS approved it without any request for more evidence. And during NVC stage I did not send any of those items either but rather what was requested. And they reviewed and completed my application and just ask that my husband bring 2015 W2 which I forgot to submit.

Honestly the red flag could be the marriage on the first time meeting each other and only knowing each other for 3 months prior to marriage. You and your husband know that your marriage is real. However the CO has to be the one that's convince its indeed bona-fide. That one red flag could have been the reason for the denial. I will definitely keep you guys in my prayers.
Thanx MrsBurgz. I understand that could be the red flag but the fact that the consular did not ask for proof is what we are confused about. So hopefully they will reconsider and have my husband come back with whatever proof they request.
Question, what other documents could I send to my husband when they do review the case again? He has Boss Revolution phone calls from October of last year, western union receipts, I was going to send him whatsapp chats but it was just alot to put together but I will this time once they give him a date to review the documents. He has our wedding pictures as well as a few casual pictures we took when I went to visit him. If anyone on here can give me more ideas as to what they submitted to proof bona-fide of relationship I will appreciate that.
-
Oh wow. Were there any redflags that you can think of? Could it be something in your husband's pass that they found out that wasn't disclosed prior?
No red flags.
They emailed me back today stating that the consular was not convinced of the bona-fide of our relationship but the thing is that the consular never asked for any documents that my husband brought that could have proofed the bona-fide of our relationship. The consular asked my husband 4 questions how did we meet, when did we meet, when did we get married and what I do on my off days. Yes the time we met was the first time ever meeting, and we got married 3 days later but we had been talking for about 3 months before that and I knew from talking to him from day one that he was my soulmate. And at that time I was also a full time student and so that was the only time I had to visit him and we decided to get married because I knew I wasn't going to be able to visit him again because of the fact that I was a broke college student. I wanted to have him close to me so I went ahead and filed for him the following month after visiting him. Is it a crime to fall for someone at any time frame even if its quick to some people and decide to get married and file paper work so that we can be togther? I just don't understand these consulars.
I sent them an email today in response to their email basically stating that the consular never asked for documents to proof bona-fide of our relationship. And funny thing is that in their email it stated that the consular reviewed the evidence presented but he/she wasn't convinced and that's simply not true. Waiting to hear their reply which I am praying for will say they will review the case again with the requested documents to proof bona-fide of our relationship. Pray for us guys. I have faith though that it will all work out. This is just another hurdle that we will soon cross.

I am so sorry to hear about that 221(g) There should have been a reason given as to why they are sending the case back to USCIS.
Thanx,MrsBurgz. That's what I am confused about. The CO did not tell him anything.
-
Hi,
I am a bit distraught because my husband had his interview today and was given 221 (g)form. Nothing was checked off to say that he is missing a document or two which he can simply bring. He was told that the case will be sent to USCIS. I don't know what to do at this point. I have called USCIS and they can't provide me with any answers since they haven't received the case. I just emailed the embassy but it's been nearly impossible to get a response fron them in the past so I'm not so sure if they will this time.
If anyone had went through this before what did you do and what was their reason for denial? I don't really know what to do. I am just scared if they send the case to USCIS this is going to be another long wait that I can't bear to handle any longer. Everyone's experience regarding this particular situation and suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

As of 09/13/16 7 days til husband's medical and 20 days til interview. The days are going by far. I think I am more nervous for him then he is but at the same time excited for an approval.
-
Watch for status to change to READY. That's when Embassy has and then you can email them. Usually only takes 3 to 5 days to get to embassy.
Oh wow! Really, just 3-5 days? You think they will send my documents to the embassy that quick being that my interview date is not til Oct. 3rd?
Thank you for your reply and Congratulations on finally reaching the end of this journey. I pray that everyone here including myself a quick and easy process no matter which step your in.

Just checked my case status and it's in transit. How do I track it to find out when it arrives at the embassy because I want to request an earlier interview date? And do I have to wait until it arrives at the embassy before making such a request?
My husband's medical appointment is September 20th.

Hello everyone,
My husband has an interview date for October 3rd but we haven't received the interview letter as of yet. Question, does he have to wait for that letter before scheduling a medical appointment? I read somewhere on here that you don't have to wait for that letter you can just schedule the appointment. Is it dependent on the medical center and their requirements regarding this matter.
Thanks in advance for answering my question.

Congratulations. I have updated you. Here's the info page you can read about the medical and cost and all.

Just called NVC and got interview date scheduled for 10/03/16. CC on 08/18/16. Now waiting for the interview email for instructions on how to obtain the medical exam and any other necessary information.
Praying for everyone with CC a quick interview date and congratulations to visa approvals.
-
Thank you happiestoflives. I will check the spreadsheet.
-
Congratulations. I will add you to the spreadsheet
Hopefully you may be in the October scheduling. Thst should start last few days of this month.
Look at the spreadsheet that should give you an idea.
Thank you Dwheels76. I will do that. I understand that they schedule 1 month in advance so the beneficiary can get medical and paperwork together but is it unlikely to get interview date for September for CC in August like in my case?

Saw 3 N/A on 8/19/16 so I called NVC and the rep. confirmed that my CC was on 8/18/16. Now waiting for my husband's interview date for Freetown, Sierra Leone. Anyone has any idea about how long it usually take to get interview date for Freetowm, Sierra Leone after CC.
-
YEAHHHHH! Congratulations!!!!
Thank you MrsBurgz. All thanks to you once again for sure because if it wasn't for you I would have been freaking out more than I was already. I really appreciate it.

Confirmed with NVC this morning that my case was completed Thursday August 18th, 2016. I had a checklist to have my husband bring joint sponsor's 2015 w2 only even though I am going to still send my husband all the financial documents just in case. And the rep. I spoke to said that the police clearance for The Gambia I was unable to obtain, NVC did not give me a checklist for that and that the the final decision on whether I am required to obtain the PC or not is up to the embassy.

I just checked on the NVC site to see if there was any update and I saw 3 N/A. I'm calling them first thing once they open to confirm. My scan date July 21st. I am beyond happy. I was worried that I was going to get a checklist for not submitting W2s (Thank you Mrz. Burgz for calming my nerves down a bit) and also not having a police clearance for one of the countries my husband lived in (The Gambia) because I was unable to obtain one. I haven't received any email yet so I'm not sure if they will still ask for my husband to bring those documents. I am very happy though that they completed my case and I did not have to go through the hassle of submitting the docs and then waiting again.
For those still waiting for CC it will soon come when you least expect it. This whole process has taught me a lot about patience and I know soon it will end with my husband and I in each other's arms.

@rooji Thank you for your response too. I appreciate it.

So how long you have been married for? if you got married this year then you do not need to file as married for last years taxes. if you got married last year or the year before that, you needed to file them as married. If you didn't, I believe you can make amendments to it. so you may get a checklist for that. but I would advise you to go make the amendments before they send you a checklist. I would certainly say that when you send in the amended ones, do put your document cover sheet when sending.
For example, I got married this year so this year I will have to file them as married even if my husband is not in the US. But for last year's one, I was still single so I filed them as single.
So this is my understanding, hopefully someone else can help you here better or give you an insight based on their experience.
@Mrs Burg - I got married last year in August. Thank you for all of that information. I will just wait then til my husband comes to the US to ammend my 2015 return. Thank you once again for all your replies.
Sorry about that I meant to reply to MrsBurgz response to my questions.

The W2 is considered tax document. So hopefully you're lucky like the rest that got case complete checklist and ask to bring it to the interview.
If you mail the tax docs. make sure to use the AOS barcoded cover sheet and yes it will create a new scan date and a wait another 6 weeks.
I believe if you didn't work in 2015 you would have to write a note explaining the reason why you didn't file taxes. That might trigger a checklist.
@MrsBurg - Ok, got it.I hope so too. I did file 2015 tax return to get my education credit but I filed as single instead of married. Is that a cause for concern? I did not know how to go about filing married since this is my first time.

Right. That's all I am hoping and praying for now that the embassy schedules a second interview and my husband can bring the proof then. Thank you for all your help.
