  1. You're definitely not alone (I won't say don't worry because, come on, does anyone not worry when that's said ?). A friend has a very similar timeline to yours, NOA harcopies on 18th, and she still hasn't received her biometrics.

I know it's hard to watch other people advance in the system but keep your head up! You're still in the normal waiting range. It's probably just around the corner!

    Right, thank you!

and to us who are in the same boat.. letss continue rowing it! lol

    Lots of luck everyone! ?

  2. I have a similar timeline but yet to receive my biometrics appointment

    AOS (130, 765, 131, 485) Package sent.... Oct 01

    Received by Chicago....Oct 04

Sent to NBC in Missouri (don't recall this date..)

    Received paper NOA.... Oct 19

    Really getting worried now

hey same here. We are filing for my AOS EAD AND AP. We have the same Noa1 recieved date but mine is in Missouri

still waiting for bio metrics appointment hopefully itll come this week ?

  3. MSC = NBC = National Benefits Centre.

Initial processing for family-based adjustment of status applications is always done at the NBC. For K-1s, parents of a US citizen, and a couple of other small exceptions there is the possibility of your case remaining at the NBC and being approved without an interview. For other types of beneficiaries (marriage-based but not from a K-1, for example) or for K-1 adjustments where they decide to do an interview, your case is then passed to the USCIS field office having jurisdiction over your place of residence for the interview and final adjudication.

now i get it. thank u!

  4. Hi everyone I applied for aos with ead and ap last october 1 and got my noa1 last october 19 in the mail with MSC case numbers. I research for processing timelines for Missouri service centers and I dont have any info inregards to I 485 :/

  6. Congratulations on your marriage!

Your husband should be the one helping you to answer these questions and guide you through settling in the country. You are his financial and legal responsibility. He should have added you to his bank account and his credit card account. If you get called for AOS interview, USCIS would expect this to have happened. You should concentrate on your relationship and get you husband, not strangers online, to help you.

    Sorry for being direct.

Nah its fine I appreciate that :)

I was under the same opinion (#3) until my experience with my wife. She opened a US bank account immediately after arriving. Within 6 months she had a Visa through the same bank with a continually expanding credit limit. The key was she paid the bill in full monthly. She also made sure her bank balance was growing every month (she's a model saver). We paid household bills using her Visa, to generate activity on the card (which we paid off immediately).

By being very deliberate about it, she has a very good FICO score, after being here less than 3 years. She signed up for a credit monitoring service, and reviews her credit score monthly. I'm in awe about her...many things...this is just one. :)

awww thats so good to hear! Thanks for sharing!

  7. Hi everyone, im kendi from the philippines and I entered the USA last July 15, 2016 with my k1 visa. I got my ssn with DHS authorization on the first month that I got here. We got married September 1, 2016 and we already applied for my AOS Along with AP and Ead. We got the Noaq1 already and currently waiting for the biometrics letter.

Well technically im out of status as of the moment because my 90 days k1 visa already expired october 15, 2016.

I bought my savings money from the Philippines and Id like to put it in the bank.

    My question is..

    1. Can I open a bank account/ apply for a credit card with my SSN that has a mark that says Valid for work only with DHS Authorization? How?

    2. Will the bank allow me to open an account eventhough im unemployed?

I applied for a Discover card yesterday over the phone and I got declined from the apllication. I dont know the reason why they declined me buy the lady said they will send me a letter explaining why.

    3. Is it because my k1 visa is already expired and my 90 days are over here and I need to update my ssn after I got my Ead or Gc since its a temporary status.

    Thanks everyone!

  8. After filling out my DS160 and scheduling my appointment interview, I realized that when I was in Thailand I also went to Cambodia for a day and Laos for two days to extend my visa. I failed to include Cambodia and Laos in the countries I visited in my DS160 form. What should I do?

thank you for your response. We have already set up an interview appointment.. do we have to cancel and reschedule it? I've read that you have to do that as well? confusing really.

    Thanks!

fill another one, I did before. just need to send them the right filling confirmation.

  9. Hi my fiance and I are about to apply for the k1 visa since we got engaged december of 2015. My fiance is now unemployed (just this january 2016) and doesnt wanna send the the paperworks untill he gets a new job however his siter is willing to co sponsor the visa. We've been reading that Manila doesnt approve joint sponsor or there is a 50/50 chance ( im not sure ) of getting it approved. Now my question is..

Should we file the petition while his unemployed and hope that he will have a job by the time of my interview or if he is still unemployed by then use his sister as his joint sponsor?

If he is still unemployed by the time of my interview, what are my chances of getting approved with his sister as his co sponsor?

    Thank you :)
