  1. Grr having some set backs. Fiancé had his Medical in London a few weeks ago and the Doctor wanted him

To "bring something to the attention of his GP". Basically just proof that he told his GP about this specific thing. Alright, no big deal. Except he's been waiting over a month for the Military to send him his discharge papers because his GP won't make an appointment until they can request his military medical records and they can't do that without a specific form. Ugh. So big waiting game. We were hoping for him to be here in June... Now I wouldn't be surprised if it's not until August or later. We can't even get a confirmation that the military received the form he mailed in over a month ago.

    Waiting, waiting, waiting... Fun times.

  2. Unofficial as in not the official papers the embassy will accept. They have some information of his discharge information on them, but they aren't the specific papers the embassy wants. Apparently there is a specific form with a code on it or something which is what he had to order.

Anywho, I don't think it will be a concern as he was honorably discharged but it doesn't hurt to ask others since someone else might have run into this issue. As I said, someone on another forum mentioned in their medical records something as simple as a history of depression and the embassy made them go get a psych clearance before they approved them... Which put them back 2 extra months. Just trying to avoid any possible issues if anyone has knowledge of how the Embassy in the UK takes something like this.

  3. My fiance is trying to get all his paperwork and vaccinations in order for his medical and interview. He served 1.5 years in the army and his unofficial discharge papers say "he struggled throughout" and "has found training far too intensive for his capabilities, both physically and mentally. He has en engaging personality and is capable of unsupervised work, if the work is tailored correctly for his capabilities".

He sent in the request for his official discharge papers, but we are wondering if he should ask his GP to set him up with a Psych consult to make sure he is cleared for any psych or mental issues. I read a few stories, not necessarily from the UK, but stories from people saying they made it all the way to their interview and then encountered issues due to previous documented issues that could be construed as "pysch" concerns.

    What do ya'll think?

    Thanks,

    Christine

  4. mumbles, I looked at your timeline and I noticed you have Texas as the service center then a transfer... it should just be the California Service Center and no transfer because all the K-1 petitions went to CSC starting a while ago due to the backlog in TX.

The lockbox is in TX but they direct it to the service center from there. That will probably help you with better estimates too.

    Congrats!

Thanks. Updated my timeline to reflect is being at the CSC
  5. Patience is key friends! I know it's hard because I find myself checking out the timelines to see who's received the NOA2 before us and it looks like they're on pace so at least I'm happy in not seeing any kind of backlog right now.

You and I have the same timeline. We are about halfway through the wait for our 2nd notice. I've also discovered patience is key... we are so lucky that we are only having to wait a few months for the entire process!

  6. Do you have any kind of tracking available?

    Where was it last?

Who did you send it with?

We sent it with USPS. I have been tracking it and it's been "departed" since the 14th. Expected delivery date was the 15th and now it's just showing delayed. "USPS Latest Status: Departed Dest Facility 01/14/2016 7:58pm DALLAS TX 75398 Reply HELP 4 help-STOP to cancel" ... Nothing since.
