  1. WAC is the California Service Center right? It says a RFE from there would extend to an estimate of an extra 30 days to the process. Honestly, I wouldn't get caught up too much about a time frame. So people want to know when they receive this and that. None of these visa processes are set in stone in how long they take even step by step. I wish the process was like Christmas myself, Every year you know Christmas will be on Dec. 25th. This stuff doesn't work that way. Word to the wise don't get caught up wondering is today the day because you will only frustrate yourself

  2. But it isn't free. Several others have done it without lawyers and it went through smoothly.

Op's problem was just the delay in responding to the RFE. Since he or she has it,they can just fill out the same forms (if they haven't been updated) and supply the required documents. A lawyer or rapidvisa is not necessary.

I agree with your premise that having a lawyer in the OP's situation is unnecessary. To say that the delay was the only problem would probably be inaccurate to a degree though. The OP either submitted his documents knowingly without his birth certificate in hopes that he would get it in time before he received a RFE and then past the RFE deadline...or he just didn't know or forgot about the birth certificate as one of the documents and the time it took to get the birth certificate took longer than the RFE deadline. With the first case I wouldn't think any lawyer would risk their clients chances of approval and wasting their money and time by sending it in with missing documents. With the second case no lawyer would (I would think) miss such a big document like a Birth Certificate with this process. Again, I'm not advocating to get a lawyer because the OP doesn't need one as they don't speed up the process and it feels like they are just needed for certain couple's situation. But a lawyer sure would have prevented this from happening in my opinion.

  3. Honestly the best thing you or anyone else going through the process can do is to NOT give yourself an expectation of when you should be receiving something. I know that is hard to do especially since this site pretty much advocates for you to create a timeline to compare to other people to help give you a better estimate of how long each step should be. But in all honesty, you will drive yourself crazy and torment yourself that other people around the same time you sent your forms in or even later are going on to the next phase while you must continue to wait. That pretty much spells frustration and you feel like something should be done until you hear that other people have waited almost twice as long as you and have heard nothing. Just view the processing time for the center that has your documents. If it runs past the estimated time then request an inquiry so you can get a status update to make sure your paperwork wasn't lost somehow. Other than that I wouldn't pay attention to anyone who tells you it should take "x" months. Because no one is right or wrong in what they say but it all varies by case...not countries or date submitted...so it's impossible for anyone to tell you how long exactly everything will take.

  4. Hello there VJ Family,

My fiancée is currently working an online job from home in the Philippines. We are currently in the process of the K-1 Fiance Visa. She had asked me recently if her job allowed her to continue working once she comes to U.S would it be required for her to get a work permit or Green Card? I've tried looking up anything similar to that but couldn't find what I was looking for. I am assuming that because she would be in the U.S. that technically she would be working inside the U.S even though it doesn't seem like her job is primarily focused on U.S. citizens or stationed there. I don't want us to do anything that would jeopardize her being able to live here with me so I am being extra cautious about this whole process. Does anyone know the answer to this question? Thank you in advance VJ Family
