I submitted a request with a quick note about being requested to furnish documents after the interview. Passport and long form birth certificate. The case status updated from appointment to send documents and you can click continue then print courier receipt. Hope this helps.

We attended the interview at the Vancouver consulate. Everything went ok except we had the short form birth certificate. They did not accept it. They gave us a piece of paper saying to email Vancouverk@state.gov when we obtain the long form birth certificate. It then says to log into the account and click "consular section instructed me to send more documents". When I click it there is a way to submit a request but no instructions on how to mail in the passport and birth certificate. Does this change after we email them that we have the information? I'm a little confused on how to go about sending the additional documentation in.

Okay, Thank you for replying. I hate how they are stopping interviews in Vancouver. That adds a big cost to people living out there to do this.

My fiancé is trying to schedule an interview at the Vancouver embassy. It only gives her two dates to pick June 28 and July 12. We were hoping to select a later date. Her doctor had more than 30 days and did not give her medical records to her. She has a chronic illness and I'm pretty sure she needs them for the medical. She still needs to do the medical. Can the medical be done after the embassy interview? Is it possible to get a later date so the medical can be done before? I think the medical can be done later. I'm stressed and I want to make sure.

Oh thanks this is good news. I was so worried about how to get her to Montreal and how to juggle everything. I can just drive up there and take her to the interview in Montreal but she would have to fly back after. I'm happy it goes by the NOA2 date and not the date they randomly received it in the mail. Thanks for the help.

Says case creation date was April 5, 2016. I guess I missed it by 5 days... Fantastic.

My fiancee has a VAC case number but when I check on the status after submitting packet 3 it says "Your case is ready for you to schedule an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal." Why would they move it all the way to Montreal this puts an unexpected stress and cost on the visa. Is it possible to still schedule an interview at Vancouver? Does she need to fill out the DS-160 again because she selected Vancouver when filling it out? Can she get the medical interview without a Conculate Interview date? I'm unsure when she can fly to Montreal.

Oh ok thanks. She should be able to book the appointment before it expires. So it should be fine then.

Hi, I'm new here and I had a question about the expiration date of the noa2. My fiancée is having trouble finishing package 3 because she is bed bound for the time being. She will be able to collect the info for the packet before the expiration. But I don't believe there will be enough time to do the interviews before that date. Will this date be extended as long as she does packet 3? Do we need to do anything? If she is unable to collect the information for packet 3 in time can I do something to extend the expiration if necessary? She will be going to the Vancouver embassy and the expiration is July 9, 2016. Thank you for your time.

My fiancée was also referred to the rcmp. I'm curious did you end up getting the fingerprint check?

1995 is a lot for a lawyer if you don't have any special circumstances that they need to help with. Following everything in the guide should be fine. You could fly over to see him take a few pictures and fly back with the money saved by not using a lawyer.

I updated my timeline on here when I received my NOA1. The estimate from this site was fairly accurate for me at least. I think it took about 48 days. Good luck

Sent mine in on 1/15/2016 while my fiancé was visiting for three great weeks. Received my NOA1 on the 22nd. Hope to get the NOA2 as soon as possible with no RFE.
Request for documentation question

We figured it out I think. It wasn't as confusing as I was making it out to be. Just submitted a request with a note about what documents were requested. It updated the status from appointment to send documents. We clicked continue and followed the instructions on printing a courier receipt to mail in the documents. Hope I did everything correctly. Does anyone know or have best guess on how long it will take to get approval now after the documents are received?
