  1. i came to the united states on k1 visa i would like to have my mother visit me just for vacation. she doesnt have money in the bank or even own her own home as she lives in a house that my sister bought. she is now 65 and married to my father 68. she has traveled out of the country b4 to visit my sister in japan. so i am wondering if traveling outside of philippines to visit my sister and having been married to my father for 49 years and my father remaining in the philippines would show enough ties to philippines get get a visa to visit me here in the states for a month or 2

  2. Why not just list anything you have? But remember, they will want an official appraisal, at least on homes. Dunno about cars. But it sounds like you have enough to satisfy them. One thing they also wanted from us was a sentence on the I-864 about how we would be willing to sell the house within a year if need be. You might want to do that too.

thank u for responding i am just wondering if i should do the 864 the lady i spoke to said that the 134 if for k1 fiancee and the 864 is for spouse what is ur thought on that and i did have my mother do a 134 as a co sponsor also

  3. i am just wondering i just finished all my papers but i was just reading (Applicants presenting Form I-134 will need to show that their U.S. sponsor’s income is 100 percent of the federal poverty guideline. NOT 125 percent which is for the Form I864 Affidavit of Support) i filled out the 134 form i am using my disability ssd witch it is 10,000 a year but i did list my houses that combined amount is 590,000 with no liens paid off and my 2nd and 3rd car in the amount of 55,000 like i said i am wondering if the 134 is not enough and i have to fill out the i_864 instead i did also have my mother fill out a co sponsor 134 to just in case they have problem with using assets i am leaving on may 1st and have interview on the 12th if anyone knows please let me no thanks

  4. I saw that, but I think they must mean if those are in the US. They did accept the home we live in for our assets, I guess because really, if my wife has to move to the US within six months or lose her visa, then obviously we won't be living in our home here. The interviewer even told the wife that when she does fill out the I-864a to say she would be willing to sell the place within a year. (This is the only real estate listed, we did not list her townhouse, because she'll never sell that, because it's really family property rather than hers despite what the deed says.)

i am just wondering what they will say i did get the appraisal of my home i live in and one of my investment homes they are both paid off and i was going to use one or both they are both over the min requirements of 100,000 so with my disability and the homes i hope i will be fine i do have some nice cars also i wonder if i should list everything or will just 1 house do just fine i am having trouble with that i-864 form kinda hard to understand thanks for the replies tho

  5. The process can be confusing but I have taken the time to help folks like you who are applying in the Philippines. To answer your question of what's next start reading and understanding what is next for USEM Manila here http://dennyeyberg.wix.com/filipino-am-visa#!manila-process-usem/c95x. The information is FREE.

Sometimes they will send you a confirmation and sometimes not. You should have printed off a confirmation page once you were finished booking the appointment. There also was a questions if you would like to have the email confirmation sent to you, but you would have had to have made that selection. All this information is at my website.

thank you i did call the us embassy in manila and they didnt send a email but did once i called so may 12th 645am getting things ready

  6. Congratulations!!

well i sheduled the interview for the 12th of may i guess i get ready to go just wondering what all i will need for paper work i am doing income and assets do i have to have the noa1 also becasue for some reason i still have not recieved the hard copy

wow congrats all that got approved,

Her interviews will be on May 5th, still counting down ...

    goodluck

    Hello everyone!!!

    We got approved))) :goofy:

    congrats

  7. If you're talking dollars, then I'm sure half a million would satisfy them. But I'm not the final arbiter, they are. Again, your income must be 125% of the annual poverty level for the state in which you plan to live, or else your assets must be three times the 125% figure. Period. Not one dollar less. No ifs, ands or buts.

There is a link somewhere in the instructions where you can go and see the poverty-level rates for all the states. For some reason, the link shows 150% of the poverty level, not 125%, but you can do the calculation to figure 125%. It's the same for the Lower 48, a little higher for Hawaii, highest of all for Alaska.

ok thank you so i hope i should be fine my homes are over the 500,000 with nothing owed and my monthly check is 850 and i do have cars also i have just read in a couple of places that they didnt like sponsoring with just assets so i hope its enough for a k-1 visa

  8. If you don't have to file taxes, there's a box to check for that on the I-864. They'll only want you to have a co-sponsor if your income is less than 125% of the annual poverty level or your assets are worth less than three times that amount.

my assets are over 500,000 do you think they would still want a co sponsor

  9. As part of your Packet 3, you as the sponsor will have to fill out an I-864 listing all assets held in your name. If there are co-sponsors, each one will have to fill out a separate I-864 listing all assets held in their name. If you are going to use the assets of your fiancee or wife, she will have to fill out an I-864a (note the slightly different form number) listing all assets held in her name.

The instructions for the I-864 and I-864a are ambiguous at best. As noted previously in this thread, the instructions say an I-864a is not required if the intending immigrant is the sponsor's spouse (as in my case), but I see language elsewhere in the I-864 instructions that could be interpreted as requiring it. Plus on the I-864a itself is a box to check if the person is both the intending immigrant and the sponsor's spouse. So go figure.

Best to ask the embassy you're dealing with if it's going to be necessary, then if they happen to say no, have a copy of the e-mail with you at the time of the interview in case the interviewer says you have to. I can tell you now that the Bangkok embassy definitely wants it. But note that this will matter only if you are using assets held in your fiancee or wife's name.

thank you i will only be using my assets 3 paid off houses and 6 cars i wonder if they would be wanting a co sponsor because i do not file taxes tho i do have money in the bank and recieve 900 a month from disability

  10. hi everyone, I know i have been away, but i have a question my NOA 2 is dated Feb 25 nd NVC has yet to rec my case. Is anyone else having this same issue?? Not sure what to do. I called USCIS and they stated that they already sent it to NVC

dam i know what u saying i havnt waited as long as u have but i no so many that recieved thiers within 10 days of noa2 i hope u get yours soon and me to my noa2 was the 16 of march

  11. I hope so too Rob, I am in a similar situation and my fiancé's consular interview is the 23rd.

Would you report back and let me know what happens/happened?

I am submitting a very low income 1040 and a personal financial statement demonstrating substantial assets, as well as bank statements demonstrating considerable tax-exempt income and a lot of net worth supporting documentation.

What I hope is the the CO knows what he is looking at, that's all I need. To that end I am including a cover letter explaining all of the documentation I am submitting. He just needs to read the cover letter, but no clue if, as busy as they are, anyone will bother to read!

Let us know what happens, ok?

i myself was wondering if it all went well with you using your assets as i am now about to go to manila with mine i have a disability of 850 a month but i own over 500,000 in my 2 homes

  12. My boyfirend and I are thinking about getting married but he thinks he won't be able to get approved for the K-1 visa because he already applied with another women a year ago. Things between them didn't work out so he canceled the visa. Would we get approved if we tried?

no it will be no problem i myself was engaged to a woman and when i left i found out certain things and even after the noa2 i guess it even went to manila but if it is never acted on or followed through i dont think it matters at all because i have my noa2 already and waiting on interview when i filed the k1 i put in the packet the approval notice from my last and put a letter explaining everything that happened and it might have taken alittle longer then the other filers from my noa1 date but i sure wasnt the last to be approved just give a explanation of what happened
