  1. I have a friend, she has this question.

USCIS sent her a green card with wrong name, spelled wrong maybe. I'm not sure.

She contacted USCIS long time ago and sent I 90 to correct her name. But I guess because the operator told her wrong, they didn't let her send their green card back to USCIS.

So in the end, nothing happened. She still holds her wrong name green card, I guess it's been more than 1 year.

Now she wants to go back to china, she doesn't have much time left to correct her name again from the USCIS.

When she comes back to the US, can she still get into the US, even her green card name is not the same as Passport?

    Thanks.

  2. Thanks a lot, I appreciated that you told me about it. I will work on it soon, hope it will work out by that way. :)

We never received a Biometrics appointment either. Our first NOA was returned b/c our name wasn't on our mailbox. We made an infopass appointment and b/c it had been more than 60 days they gave us an appointment for that very week. In our case it was well worth it, however, we overheard the officers talking about our case and one of them said that we shouldn't get the appointment, the other said we should. In the end we got it, but it might have been only out of luck. In any case, I think it's worth a try. Good luck.
  3. Everyone. Please give me some suggestion, what should I do?

I filed AOS file to Chicago,IL on May,7th,2007 by Fedex. I didn't get NOA 1, then I got a letter from USCIS about they sent our case to CSC on June,6th,2007. Then I use the number on the letter to track my case on USCIS website. It shows that our case is pending in CSC on 12th,June,2007. It was touched once on 13th,June,2007. Until now ,no news from USCIS. We called them 3times, everytime they said no update from them, they said that it takes 3months for them to get update information. What is that? How slow they could be? I didn't get my Bio letter, I heard about that there will be no update online about Bio letter. So I worried that they sent me ,but I didn't get it. Because it's been 3months after I filed my case, but still no Bio letter, it seems so weird. Please, any suggestion will be appreciate. Thanks a lot.

  4. I applied AOS in May. They sent our case to CSC in 6th, June. In several days later, we got a mail about it from USCIS. That's the first and only mail we got from them. We don't have NOA 1, hope it's ok. And in about 2 months after we applied, still they didn't send us Bio appointment letter, is it something wrong? If they send us the Bio appointment letter, will they update USCIS website? Normally I saw people could get their Bio appointment letter in 1 month after they applied. Thanks for your time. :)

  5. Hi I'm confused about one thing. I know that it's a good thing if a case is transfered to CSC.

But the weird thing is my case was transfered to CSC without get any biometrics appointment.

Is it right? I worried that I missed my biometrics appointment letter.

I missed several letters from mailbox in my apartment. So I'm worrying about it now.

Any suggestion will be welcomed. Thanks for your time.

Btw, I applied for AOS in April and case was transfered to CSC in June.

  6. As I know,it's hard to make sure which package is yours!I have received my package 3 last month.I waited for 3months after my case has been sent to guangzhou consulate. If you haven't gotten your package 3 in 1month after your case has been sent out of NVC,it means that your package was in guangzhou custom. Then you have to wait about 2 or 3months to get your package in hand.

  7. There is no Nigeria consulate in guangzhou. So you could try to contact the embassy in beijing. In fact,I think you should contact the police office in guangzhou where your fiance has stayed before.

Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria:Phone number 86-10-65323631/65321650.Address: No.2, Dongwujie, Sanlitun, Beijing, China.(Zip Code:100600) http://www.nigeriachina.com/

Here is an intro about poice certificate:

Police Certificates are required from every visa applicant aged 16 years or over for each locality of the country of the applicant's nationality of current residence where the applicant has resided for at least six months since attaining the age of sixteen. Police certificates are also required from all other countries where the applicant has resided for at least one year. Generally, application for such certificates should be made directly to police authorities in the district in which you resided. If you have any questions about where or how to apply for police certificates in other countries, you may communicate directly with the U.S. consular office processing your visa applications.

  8. I hope I could help you both out.but you have to tell me where have you stayed in china.Which city? Here is phone number for the embassy of your country in beijing,china.86-10-65323631/65321650. You could try to contact them to figure it out. hope it will help you some. :)

  9. Anyone know of a good calling card (not an internet card or internet phone) to call from Mainland China (Guangxi) to the United States? I would love to provide Xiang with a card but I cannot find one.

    Thanks,

    Keith & Xiang

For Keith: Try ecallchina.com. I have used them for US to China calls before, but I think they have cards for inside the country, too.

For others that are interested in a good VOIP service over broadband, I strongly recommend Packet 8 (www.packet8.net). I pay $50 per month for unlimited calling to China. I have not seen any other package like this one, and the voice quality is great. I use my regular phone just like Vonage.

And no, I am not going to receive any kickbacks for referring anyone. :-)

  10. Our case was sent from the NVC on Aug 25. We are still waiting for our P3. When I call to inquire at the DOS, they use terms that I am unclear on. I have talked to other people that have gotten the same information, so I was hoping that someone knows what the terms means. Does anyone know what "loaded" and "open" status means after a case leaves the NVC???

    Thanks in advance!

  11. You're welcome.I paid my IP card by my bank card.I just went to the bank and sent money to the store owner's bank account. To be safe, your girlfriend could click "buy now" on the site and then she could get information about the store owner and how to contact the owner.I don't remember the link, you could ask your girlfriend to search on 淘宝 taobao site. There are a lot of IP stores there. You could choose the cheapest one.

  12. Unfortunately the card I told you that only works in Beijing. You have to find a card that will work for all over China.I saw the cheapest one is 100RMB IP card, you have to pay 24RMB. 2.4RMB per minute. You could use the IP card number to call by your cell phone. It will also charge of the local phone fee.Hope it will help.

  13. The supportive files to show that you have enough money to live with your fiance in the US.The basic files that you need to give that is tax return,I-134,employer letter,W-2 wage statements. If you have more files to prove,it will be helpful too.Such as house proof, saving in the bank, some other permanent assets. If you have a co-sponsor,you and your co-sponsor both need to show I-134,tax return,I-134,employer letter,W-2 wage statements.Ensure it is notarized (by a public notary), with all required supporting evidence.hope it helps you some. You could try to read I-134 introduction and http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...amp;page=k1tips
