  1. A little over a year ago I moved to an apartment complex. I didn't know how long I would stay here so I decided, for mailing security purposes, to keep my addresses the same. Only the "need to know" like power and internet actually go to the new address.

The problem I'm having now is that all the addresses on my financial responsibility or other supporting documents show my old address.

    Should I be concerned?

According to one (non-immigration) lawyer, the State of TX rules that whatever is on your DL is your primary address. Take students, for example, they don't change their address just because they are attending college elsewhere. And that rule could apply to me as I don't own the apartment and am thinking about moving to another one in half a year or so.

Thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated.

  2. Actually, I live in Texas too and my insurance company GEICO says that my fiance can drive my car as long as he is a listed driver on my policy with his international driver's license. Once state license is obtain just call them back to update our policy with the new info. I will be adding my fiancé this weekend.

So basically it's at the Insurance discretion. It wouldn't hurt to call and ask.

One would think this should be under law and not per insurance. But you're right; I guess the easier way is to call your insurance company to find out how they do things.

Shouldn't we wait for Packet 3? I saw somebody were saying that beneficiary will need to send back the confirmation of DS-160, copy of passport bio. page, passport photos and maybe a checklist of all the documents he/she needs to bring to the interview. I don't know how Consulate will contact the beneficiary if they receive the documents and okay to schedule an interview.

This is the same question I'm asking.

Once my Fiancee finishes with the DS160, does she submit that and wait for further information?

Should I already mail her my i135 and supporting docs?

  3. Any petitioners who are currently filling out I-134 or have already done that, please let me know if you got statement from your bank or not? I am attaching letter from my company, six most recent pay stubs, 2015 tax return transcript, W2's from 2015. any help will be much appreciated.

Damn. Gotta dig the Tax return and W2's :(

can my fiance drive in michigan with an international drivers license?

I'm sure she can. The better question is can your fiance be insured without a local driver's license.

Here in Texas, the answer is no. Insurance companies need a TX DL before they can be added to the insurance policy.

  4. i did not get any thing from NVC expect case number and invoice ID. no letter, mail or email . nothing.

when it shows 'in transit" it means your application is sent and on its way to your embassy....when it sows " ready" it means it is at your embassy .. then see your country forum to get the next step.

Neither my fiancee nor I didn't get an invoiceID. How did you get it? I had to call the NVC for it.

  5. We did it all in one weekend.

    Here are the steps.

1.) Pay your fee at BPI

    2.) schedule your interview online

    3.) complete your DS160

4.) preregister for medical at St. Lukes.

We have not received packet 3 and my understanding is you don't need to wait for it either. you can do everything yourself at this point in the order stated above.

Did you already have the i-134 (Affidavit of Support) before hand?

I was waiting to send this to my Fiancee. I guess now's a good time to send it to her? But it seems she can't submit the DS160 until the i134 gets to her.

  6. Did you ever receive the post activity email from USCIS? I never did and I have the same NOA2 date as you. I never even received a text message for my NOA2. My phone apps updated me and shortly after I received the notice in the mail. Today I just called and there is no sign of my case at the NVC.

    I'm the same way.

I got 1 text stating that they received my packet and that was it - before NOA1.

I'm kinda pissed that they expect my fiancee to log in to do the DS160 when no one gave her one of the login information so I had to call them for that information.

  7. Interesting that some of y'all are stating that you get some sort of e-notification for your NOA1. I got a notification stating that the package has been received in Dallas and to expect the NOA1 in 7-10 days.

I was actually expecting another email or text, but the NOA1 was sent via snail mail. There were 2 dates on the NOA1: received on the 13th and notice date on the 17th (of May). I don't check mail everyday but I saw it on the 22nd. Looks like the text to look out for mail was sent on 17th.

I need to update my timeline.

  8. Technically, I am a naturalized citizen LoL.

    Also, she's German, I'm Filipino.

I think I messed up on the address... When I found out 2 day was just a few dollars, I used it... With the non express mail address. Oh well. I knew I was going to do something wrong LoL.

    Typical USPS tracking is broken...

Im hoping for a not-too-long wait time. Monday will make two weeks she's been gone. Hoping shed be back before Christmas.

  9. Didn't see this thread yet.

Sent my i129f to Dallas around 1pm today. Created a timeline too.

Looks like the average is 3 months wait right? The fiancée is set on being back here before Christmas.

BTW, I was the one who created a thread 4 or so months ago that got locked because of the way I asked the question. Hint: it was about AOS and getting married instead of a k1.

Kinda glad we went the k1 route.
