How soon after the K-1 is approved can my fiance visit me in the U.S.? Is there a waiting period or can she visit ASAP?

Do you receive your approval/denial for the K-1 visa the same day as your interview or do you have to wait? If you have to wait, how long to hear if you've been approved or not?

My sweetheart & I got engaged while I was in the Dominican over Christmas... I gave her an engagement ring. We've also started the K-1 visa process. Just to sum up our relationship...we've know each other since July; I've been to the Dominican 3 times in 3 months for a total of 20 days. We have lots of pictures of us together. We talk every day and I have enough money to take care of her. There's a 24 year age difference; my Spanish is limited & her English is limited. If I show up for the interview & we show them we are compatible & love each other & don't have a problem communicating with each other, is there any reason why we can't get approved by July? I live in FL where there are Spanish speaking people every where. So, she should fit in here.

I just read that an investigation is conducted on the fiancee before anything is submitted to the NVC & an interview is conducted. What does the investigation include?

Baron555, I'm curious, if you only knew your wife for 3 months before you filed, how long did it take you to get approved & how were you able to prove you had a real relationship if you only knew your wife for a short period of time? Also, did you both speak the same language.

Baron555, her children are 9, 13 & 20. I've been to the Dominican 3 times to visit her...I've spent a total of 20 days with her so far.

Baron555, I was told be another user on this site they wouldn't look at her financial information...only mine since I'm the petitioner. We would leave the children behind for a while because I live in a 55+ community & they do not allow children. I need to find a new residence.

One more question. She has 2 children under the age of 18. Should she include them & bring them with her on her k-1 or leave them behind to show she has a reason to return to the Dominican? Have them join her later?

I should add there's an age difference...I'm 71 and she's 47. Also, we don't speak the same language...we use Google translator. So many people think she's a gold digger looking for a green card & I'm worried immigration will think the same way. I've been told we'll never get approved.
