  1. Hello, Hello....

I'm wondering in you can share more with me about your experience.  I am the petitioner, with Brasilian Fiance.

We left the NVC on the 23 of August, and should have been at the consulate in RDJ, now for over two weeks.  We have NOT received an email yet.

Not sure why, I am noticing on this site, that applications with an NOA2 date after ours are already with interviews scheduled.  Not sure why we do not have our email, I will email the consulate today.

However, I did go online and fill out the DS-160, however, there is no calendar to schedule the interview, or a place to pay with a credit card for the DS-160.  In the past this was all done online, when one filled out the DS-160.  So....I'm a bit confused.  Any information that you can share with me about how you actually got the interview scheduled....will help immensely.

  2. It does seem that based on other timelines I am seeing here, and when people are getting interviews scheduled, that those of us with NOA2 dates from January 2021 - March/April 2021 may be in the next group sent to the consulate.  Our NOA2 date is March 2, 2021, we are at the NVC now for probably about 5 months, but I think our time is nearing.

  3. Hello,

Our NAO2 was dated March 3, 2021, I am figuring 30 days to NVC, so our paperwork probably arrived there by April 1.  The processing times here on the site says they are processing dates in May,

but that date has been jumping back and forth every day.  I have tried to log in the USA government CEAS site so check the status...but it keeps asking me for the invoice number that the NVC send me,

I have no such number?   any idea out there?   I did get a reply to an email, that the NVC has our application and I was able to get the case number....any ideas how to find out a real estimate for when the NVC may send the packet to the consulate in Rio?

    P

  4. Hello,

We received our NAO2 dated March 3, 2021, after filing in July 2020.  We have a case number from the NVCV, and I think the application has been at the NVC since the first part of April, 2021.  So about 90 days at the NVC still waiting for notice that the NVC has forwarded the packet to the consulate in Rio De Janeiro..  The expiration date on the NOA2 is June 30, 2021.  So it has expired as of yesterday.

I have read that this date will automatically be extended, however, I am curious if anyone has recent experience? Is there anything I need to do to have the date extended as we wait for the NVC to process us?

  5. Hello community:

My guy and I filed and received NOA1 July 29, 2020, we received our approval, NOA2 March 1, 2021. The NOA2 said that the "above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consultate".

So, I am wondering if the NVC (National Visa Center) has been bypassed?  Does anyone know anything about this?  I will email the consulate, but was curious if anyone knew more clearly about this.

    Thanks in advance.

  6. Hello,

In 2016 my then K-1 beneficiary, successfully completed the process to have him enter the USA from Brazil.  Short version of the story, he left, went back to Brazil,

we never married and he left within his allotted time to be in the country.  The culture shock was too much for him and his father had died unexpectedly in January of the year when we filed in February.

He was unprepared for the difficulties that his family would have without his father, and he just couldn't stay in the USA while his family needed him in Brazil.  We remain friends.

We filed in  the spring of 2016, he entered the USA in January of 2017 and left in April of that same year.

    So three years ago.

I am preparing another K-1 application for my current fiancé.  I've searched but I cannot find the rules about this.  I, of course, list the first k-1 on the I-129F,

But does anyone know how that first filing will affect the second filing?

  7. Hello,

I am expecting my NOA2 relatively soon, praying for no RFE, I'll be leaving for my beneficiary's country for a few months next week

and will probably not get the NOA2 before I leave. However, I have someone here who will watch for it and get me a copy of it.

I will be taking down the documents that he will need for the interview stage, when we make it that far.

    So, I have compiled:

A copy of the entire I129F packet that I originally filed, complete with the evidence of meeting

The original documents for anything that was a photocopy in the original packet

An updated letter of intent from me

    The I-134

Two originals with wet signatures ane one copy (just in case?)

Letter from my bank.....total deposits, balance, and date of opening account.......

Worried here a bit, the letter was generated in a larger city and emailed to my local bank branch and the signature

on the bank letter is NOT an original/wet signature.....but on bank letter head.......

    Feedback about this?

I' m going to take my bank statements and also proof of the value of my home, just in case?

2015 tax return...I'm taking 2014 also just in case.....

All the supporting evidence of our talks since I filed and once I get to his country next week, I'll start gathering more evidence as we will be there together until the interview with lots of opportunities to gather proof.

And of course copies of everything, just in case....

And as this is so nerve wracking, I'd appreciate any feedback in case I have overlooked something.

Then I can start investigating the next step....the docs he will likely need to gather from his end.

    Thanks

    Everyone have a great day.

  8. Hi, I filed for K-1 with NOA1 date of 02-25-16, and am expecting my NOA2 around April 16-23. I leave for Brasil for a minimum of three months on April 22. Yipppeee. I think every thing is in order. I also taking all documents to marry there if his visa fails for some reason, we have been blessed with the flexibility to be there or here, but wanted to try the USA first. Anyway, I read on another post about the person sending in a certificate that the person they are marrying, the beneficiary is single. I did not send that and didn't read anything about it.

I only sent in all of my divorce decrees and his letter of intent states he is single, but no official proof that he is single, he has never been married if that has any bearing. Of course I sent in all the packet, meticulously prepared, plenty of proof, photos spanning three months with time / date stamps, air line tickets with us seated together.....anyway....feedback. Hope you all have a great day.

  9. Hi There,

I'm planning to leave for Brazil in April for an extended stay as we await (hopefully) his K-1. I mailed the packet this past Monday and

the check is pending to be cashed in my bank, so I guess that is good. Anyway, I've been reading threads here, but all I seem to be able

to find is older information. Mu finance has used Cannabis for Migraines, although illegal in Brazil, maybe three-four times a year as far as I know and I have no reason to doubt him...we have spent a lot of time together given the international relationship. Of course he has stopped smoking already in preparation for an interview, as our case is solid, we should get.....but I'm concerned if he is honest......maybe he should say he never used it.....or that he did a few years ago....? I think honesty is an important value and we are honest people, and sometimes honesty is not the best policy depending on the goal.......if he was honest he would pass a urine test...I know they won't hair test...too expensive....I don't wanna

be paranoid, but feel it is important to think about and pray about how we want to handle this.....and of course to ask for advice/ideas/opinions here...particularly in Brasil, Rio de Janeiro Consulate and likley Dr. Joquim (? spelling) in Rio for medical exam

    Thanks,....Pamela

  10. I just mailed my K-1 packet four days ago, I'm stressing out too. Looking at timelines it looks like K-1's out of Rio De Janeiro in Brazil are moving pretty quickly, I'm headed down there April 22 and so need to start the next step......preparing for the interview, any tips are appreciated.

I have a bank appt. for the I-134, and when I am in Brazil we will get the Police Certificates, he has passport and photos already. We have a solid case, lots of evidence, met in person originally, several visits to see him there. We have his Birth Certificate, he has never been married before.

I know to write an updated letter of intent, of continuing support.....I'm excited you have your interview...and will look forward to hearing how it goes.

NOTE: Document was altered before photocopying in the following manner: I taped the two pieces of the boarding pass together, I also thoughtlessly wrote “Recife” on the actual boarding pass.
    1. Photocopy of Gol Airline boarding passes for both parties. See Cover Letter : Item #10 b, Hotel Receipts

Receipts from when we stayed together in Rio Branco, Brazil at the Bed and Breakfast called Jardim Tropical (Tropical Garden). We were there for three nights on September 16, 2015 and returned for another night on October 24, 2015. There is some Portuguese writing on these receipts and I didn’t have them translated, as our names are at the top, and the dates and what was purchased is written in English. The address and phone number wouldn’t change with translation. The website and reservation email at the bottom of the receipt wouldn’t change either, thus the pertinent information seems to be in English.

On January 20, 2015 I received word that XXXX father had suddenly died. In order to assist the family, which I consider my family, with expenses and as I wasn’t able to be there, I sent $500.00 via Western Union. The email I received showing xxxx had picked up the funds is included here.

  13. My boyfriend was denied twice for a tourist visa in Brazil, basically because he is poor and couldn't "demonstrate adequate ties to Brazil" to convince the person he would return. The first denial was awful, in and out, not a word about why...etc. We applied again, I wrote a letter of invitation and a list of the "ties" to brazil and encouraged him to advocate for himself in the interview.

He came out smiling and happy, but denied, He reported that the woman there was kind, read all of the materials and said, that she believed him,.

that she thought he deserved a tourist visa to visit me, meet my family and learn about our culture here, however, she said that it was not up to her

personally, but the system in the computer, and he just didn't meet the qualification, but they won't say the exact qualifications of course.

So...she also started asking questions about me, and who I was, and why we were traveling together in the Amazon on and off since 2010, and asked point blank if I was his girlfriend, he said that I was and she said if he wanted any hope of visiting the states, we should seriously consider getting married, which we did consider for the three months I was there this last trip, and decided to go for it.

I am just about ready to file K-1, but the passport photo is too small, and old and I don't want to risk it, so I have to discover a way to

get another one of him.....as he lives SO rurally it will be hard, but we can wait, things that are real and worth waiting for.

    Welcome to the K-1 train.......

  14. I have seen few replies to this question here but they were dated some time ago. Has anyone gotten a request for more info/redo

due to a passport photo being too small for the G-325a form. The passport photo I miraculously received from my beneficiary is quite small

]in comparison to the 2x2, but the face is just BARELY an inch....

I have heard conflicting things.....US passport have to have the correct sized face and overall size of 2x2

But the K-1 stipulations seem to say only the face size....at this point by the time I get another one from Rural rural Brazil,

I may as well file and see what happens????

    Any feedback.

    Explanation of Beneficiary Address

My fiancé, lives in a very rural part of Brazil, and I’m not certain if mail will get through to him. I have listed two addresses for him on this form, I-129F.

    Question #3 – Mailing Address

This is the address for the village where Andrei works and lives part of the time. There is no mail service in this village, only the one listed below. When he is working in the village, he is sometimes there for up to a month at a time, and this would be the most consistent and reliable address to use.

    XXXX

    XXXX

    Boca Do Acre, Brasil

    Question # 29 – Fiancés Address Abroad

In the town of Boca Do Acre, where he resides with his mother when not in the village, there is a physical address, capable of receiving mail. However, there is no way for us to predict when the beneficiary would be at this address to receive mail given his work schedule.

Given the rural location where my fiancé resides and the lack of reliable modes of communication I will list the two numbers that we have been able to use to stay in contact. My fiancé has no dedicated phone line and it is likely that only messages could be left at any of these numbers if contact was not scheduled in advance for him to arrive at the location to use the phone as scheduled.

Attachment #4 – Part 2, Question 34a - Describe the circumstances under which we met

I started traveling with somewhat regularity to Brazil in April 2009 to study alternative healing modalities. In December of 2009 I took my first trip to the state of Amazonas but don’t remember meeting the beneficiary although I stayed in the village where he lived/worked for over a month. I returned to that village in September 2010 for another month, but again don’t remember meeting beneficiary, however, as we have discussed it more recently, he remembers me from that trip. However, I know for certain that I met beneficiary the next year in December of 2011, as he was one of the boat drivers who guided our small group on the all-day journey from Boca Do Acre into the village where we would study. I know this because I have a photo of him with friends of mine, but not of us together. I didn’t speak much Portuguese then, so we met and became acquaintances, but didn’t become friends until later. My next trip to his village was in June 2013 and it was during this trip that we became friends. My ability to speak and understand Portuguese had improved over the past 3.5 years we began to be able to speak to each other. I visited with beneficiary when I saw him in the village, and he was my boat driver when I departed that year. We were caught in a severe rain storm on the river that neither of us will ever forget. I returned to the state of Amazonas again in December 2014 and remained in the village for 9 weeks. Beneficiary was again my boat driver, and I remember feeling relieved to have a driver that I considered a friend. During that visit I invited him to a lunch gathering that I had prepared and he attended. I remember he stopped by, but then had to leave to go to work. He said he would return and eat later, as I saved a plate of food for him, I remember having feelings that were more than just friendship type feelings, and I remember feeling somewhat puzzled. On another occasion during that same trip beneficiary took me for an all-day outing in the canoe to a neighboring village and I remember feeling relaxed, safe, and happy and wishing the outing would not end. I remember having a somewhat tearful parting with him when I left in late January 2015, we were sitting on a bench in the street in Boca Do Acre saying goodbye and I for some reason just started crying and I could tell he didn’t want to have to say goodbye to me, but neither of us knew why. I returned to the Amazon in late May of 2015 and remained there until mid-July 2015. During this time our friendship deepened. We spent this time mostly together each day as we were working with a few other people to reform a property in the village. During this trip people in the village began to notice our affinity for each other and began to ask us if we were “liking” each other. When I left the Amazon in July 2015 I knew I was in love with him, and because I wasn’t able to settle into my life after returning from Brazil, and I couldn’t make the feelings go away, despite my attempts, I decided to communicate with beneficiary and tell him what was going on inside of me. I knew of no way to contact him, until I learned of an acquaintance who was traveling to his village and so I composed a letter to send to him with this woman, telling him of my feelings and informing him that I would return to Brazil in September (2015). I landed in Rio Branco, Brazil on September 12, 2015 and beneficiary met me at the airport, he shared with me that after receiving the letter and reflecting for some time, that he believed his feelings for me were reciprocal and we began our relationship as a couple. We spent our first night together that night and spend each night together until I left for the United States on December 11, 2015.

Thanks in advance for any kind feedback.

  16. So, as I get close to actually filing this petition, which is a miracle in itself. My fiancé lives in the Amazon, 8-14 hours by canoe from a small town, needless to say the communications

are limited. However, we have plenty of proof of having met in the past two years, my concern is more about the ongoing relationship proof. He has no phone, few people in his village have

phones, there is no cell service there. We talk at times using a land line of a neighbor, at times when he is in the next town over, using his mother's cell phone. Also, there is an American woman there who at times has the capacity to link up to internet and we have had Skype calls, but the log shows, her name, not his. We have some chat logs that have her saying to me, "Andrei is here, are you there", and then like a an hour long conversation, but there is really no way to prove that HE is on the other end of any of these communications. I was thinking about writing an attachment, perhaps under the phone number section / question of the I-129F, explaining the various modes we use....I was also thinking that to take for the interview, if we get that far, and I think we will, are notarized letters, which would also need to be translated, from the people who are letting us use their phone/technology.....any advice??

. I'm really nervous, and as I know all of you know, this process is hard,

    emotional and because he lives so remotely, I just don't want to mess anything up;
