  1. Hello all :D Janice arrived on Oct 2, and we were married on Oct 3. :D Her mother and sister live here, so they were able to attend, and were actually our witnesses. We have already applied for a SSN (in her new name), obtained a state ID (in her new name), went to the civil surgeon for the vaccination supplement, and are now filing the papers to adjust status. This is where we have some questions...

Janice (K1) came here with her daughter Mayzie (K2 derivative of Janice). When filing the 485 packet of info... We ran into some questions:

    1. Do we have to fill out a complete package (485, etc...) for Mayzie (K2) also?

    2. Mayzie (K2) does not have an A# indicated anywhere, and cannot get a SSN until processing of AOS is complete. Where can we get the A#, or is it even needed for her?

    3. Is there any guides or how to's anyone can share for filing AOS for K1 and K2 derivative?

    Thanks in advance

  2. I know this may sound silly to some.... but we wanted to check everyone's experience and not make any assumptions....

Janice received the visa packet... but everything, including her passport is sealed in a plastic envelope marked in big letters with a warning... but she needs her passport stamped by the CFO office and she needs it to board the plane, leave Manila.... is it ok to open the outer envelope to get the passport?

there is a larger clear envelope with the passport, warning paper, and another envelope inside addressed to the foreign service of the us

Warning Paper: DO NOT OPEN, OR EVEN ATTEMPT TO OPEN THE VIS PACKET OR ENVELOPE. YOU WILL EXPERIENCE A SIGNIFICANT DELAY IF THE VISA PACKET IS TORN...

    ?Anyone

OK everyone.... I called the embassy last night (Manila Thursday morning) and they told me the visa was approved just yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They had told me the visa would be released in a day or two and then delivered within 3 days......

But then Janice called to tell me that it got delivered Thursday too!! at 3pm Manila time

Thank you to everyone here for all your help and support along the way.... it has been a long and sometimes frustrating process... our advice to everyone is never give up hope, never doubt, and always support each other....

We aren't going away... I know more questions will be coming :D

  4. :help:

Does anyone have any insight or thoughts or words of wisdom? They are not saying it is in any status.... and I know we had no issues with any requirements... plus we submitted about 100 pages of evidence to support the petition.

they did not say you are on AR? sometimes AR can mean further verification on the Philippine national. i think i read somewhere here that another couple had this too...since she had a kid...or they had some issue with the BC or CENOMAR. i'm not sure but i read it in pinoyinfo.net forum.

PW, we tracked it through DELBROS and as of yesterday it says it was out for delivery. we'll keep you posted. he hasn't done his CFO seminar so it would be great if the visa arrives thursday. we haven't even made travel plans at all...pending the visa.

When Janice asked the embassy they said it did not have a status yet, it had not been reviewed.... 10 days after the interview. She submitted clean CENOMAR and NBI and Police certificates... very very strange... I just hope we get the visa soon...or at least a status at this point... the waiting is awful.....

  5. :help:

So Janice went to the medical, no problems... she even peaked at the notes before they were sealed... and both she and our daughter were marked as cleared medically. This was 09-05 and 09-06.

Then the interview went very well..... no problems, no concerns, and the interviewer was smiling, laughing, joking, and had no concerns or unanswered questions. He even talked with our daughter, who is 5. He ended the interview by giving my fiance a pink slip to pay for the courier and said to expect a package in 1 to 3 days (she lives in Valenzuela).

It is now 10 days later. We have heard nothing, Delbros has not gotten any package from the embassy, and when Janice called the embassy to check on the status yesterday, she was told the case had not been reviewed yet and that it may not be ready for a long time.

Does anyone have any insight or thoughts or words of wisdom? They are not saying it is in any status.... and I know we had no issues with any requirements... plus we submitted about 100 pages of evidence to support the petition.

  6. Hi all.... we hope everyone is doing well. Our dates are coming up quick :D The visit in July was great, now we just can't wait to begin our family life...

Does anyone know what happens if she has her period during the medical exam appointment? We don't know if she will or not, but just want to ask the question. Does it cause delays? problems? There won't be much time (one week to be exact) before the interview, so it is not like we could reschedule. Any thoguhts or actual experiences would be greatly appreciated. Good luck to all!!!!

  7. Hi everyone.... been busy for awhile.... but have some good news and some better news.....

    1. Going to visit my beautiful bride-to-be tonight, spending a week.

    2. WE HAVE OUR INTERVIEW DATE!!! Please update the timeline for us... no packet received yet, but I received a copy of the letter in the US -- Interview date is Sept 11 (medical date is Sept 5).

Any advice on how to get a copy of the packet resent?

Good luck to all!! Keep the faith and don't give up hope...ever......

  8. Well... while we're waiting for the interview date to be set (every time I call DOS or the embassy I get the same answer: 100 to 150 days from now, nothing is scheduled yet) I have scheduled a trip to spend some time with my sweetheart. I will be spending a week there in July, right around Manila.

Here's hoping everyone gets their interview dates soon and that we can all start our new lives together.

  9. I just want to ask a question for clarificatino... I am a little confused from reading all the posts. We have confirmed that the embassy has the papers. Do we have to wait for the K Packet from them in the mail before getting the appointment or can we call the call center and have the date set now? We already have all of the required paperwork...and then some. just wanted to ask to avoid wasting a call or money.

    Thanks to everyone in advance.

  10. Hello everyone. I wanted to tell you all thank you for being here and thank you for being such a great resource. We started our K-1 journey last year actually... in August. After some errors, we restarted our journey on January. We are now on the final stretch, the papers are in Manila at the embassy, we have confirmed that, and we are just now waiting for the interview date. I think Tom Petty said it best when he said: "The waiting is the hardest part...". Anyway, its good to know that there is a support group like this out here for everyone.

We already have obtained all the papers needed for the interview; we downloaded a copy of the letter that the embassy will be sending out to her in advance. All that is left is the medical and the interview.

It was really rough when we found out that the wait for this last stretch tales 3 or 4 months. Any advice or words of wisdom out there?
