  1. Little update and a question.

Fiancé has her medical next Tuesday and got her police report and went on and completed her DS-160. Then she went on the USTravelvisa site, created her profile and paid her fee and printed out her bar code and got her list of things and instructions. She says there was a spot for "priority date" but once she finished things, there was nothing else.

Will they email her her interview date??? There was no notice as to what happens next.

Thanks all. We're nearing the end.

She's suppose to receive an email from the embassy asking for basic information and I think it asks to complete DS160. Once she responds back to the email and with in 3 days she'll receive another email that will provide the interview date and the instructions on what to bring to the interview.

You can go ahead and either call or email the embassy to inquire about your case. We did that and we received email from them the next day. My fiancé got here in April, got married last month and now getting close to submitting the AOS package. Best wishes to you two.

  2. Thank you there!

I hope our gets updated in next couple of days to Issues :dancing:

Congrats! Local procedure may differ, but when I recently got approved in Serbia, the closest thing I got to a "congrats" on paper was a sheet with the instructions on how to pick a DHL office to which I want my passport & docs to be delivered :D They also returned most of the originals I brought and only kept my police & court clearance certificates. My status remained as Ready on CEAC until they physically printed my visa (next day for me) when it changed to Issued. So... in brief, my experience at the stage where you're at was pretty much the same is all I'm saying.

  3. Hi guys,

we had our interview yesterday at Sydney consulate and we are approved :goofy::dancing::goofy:

They kept my finace's passport but didn't provide any "congratulations, you are approved paper". is that ok? they didn't keep any other documents but his passport?

I trying to figure our how to track our progress from here on? I checked CEAC, our case was touched yesterday but still in "READY" status? When can i expect it to change and what will it change to? And how many days will it take to get his passport in hand?

Thank you so much guys! and best wishes to everyone in this process.

  4. Hi guys,

we had our interview yesterday at Sydney consulate and we were approved :goofy::idea::dancing::idea::goofy::idea:

I checked CEAC website, it was touched yesterday but status is still Ready. My financee wasn't given any documents and neither they kept anything besides his passport. Is this how it goes? When would be the next status update on CEAC? or where can i track the visa status?

Wishing luck to everyone in this journey. We are so close :dancing:

  5. Actually i just checked it's not even our case number and yea that's not the name of my fiancee. But the email has our approved copy of I-129f form from USCIS. It has stamp of USCIS that says approved. The email is addressed to "Dear visa applicant"

 now i'm worried, our interview is in two days.

  6. Hi guys,

My fiance's interview is in 2 days. Do you guys have any last minute advise?

Anyone here who isn't an Australian citizen went through the k1 interview process at Sydney? I'm hoping the process should still be the same for my fiance who is on a student visa in Australia.

Our documents are ready and medical was done three weeks ago. We are so ready to pass this final step and start our happiliy ever after journey here in the states. :dancing:

    a tinny bit nervous :clock:

  7. Thank you Kurto for replying back. yea we did get the documents as you mentioned in your response. Now we are just waiting for out interview. All documents are preapared.

Our petition copy had stickies on it. For my ex-husband, who i had sponsered via CR1 and my current fiance's student visa denial sticky note. So we are little worried about have stickies on the petition. I wonder if they will question my finance harder then others.

    Hi,

If your embassy hasn't received your documents yet, just wait. There's not much you can do while it's processing at the National Visa Centre in America. ustraveldocs.com/au is the embassy site where you create a profile and complete the DS-160 and pay for the visa electronically. Once you lodge it, you follow the instructions and print the confirmation page. You will know when the embassy has it as they will email you as soon as it's processed AND you'll receive a letter in the mail stating so. This email also includes a scanned copy of your petition and other documents required for the interview. They provide a detailed list of documents you need and what to do next, everything is there.

  8. Give them a call today and see what they say. I believe you should be ok. We called three busines days before our appointment.

i booked my husband's medical with George Street Medical Centre back in February. At that time they sent an email requesting some details, and my husband replied with the details they needed. His appointment is on Monday 14 March and we are coming in from interstate as nobody can do the medical where we live. I was putting together the paperwork today and noticed on their initial paperwork that it says in big bold letters (which we somehow didn't take notice of):

PLEASE RECONFIRM YOUR MEDICAL APPOINTMENT BY TELEPHONE (9239 1677or 9247 4653) TWO WORKING DAYS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT, OR ELSE IT WILL BE CANCELLED.

We neglected to do this. Has anyone else neglected to do this and still gone for their scheduled appointment with no dramas? Or on the other hand, has anyone been turned away because they didn't reconfirm?

    Thanks!

  9. i emailed him the one my attorney provided, it's certified by court's clerk, and signed.

I don't have the raised seal one. I provided the copy of the clerk's certified copy with the K1 ptition to USCIS, so i thought i just sent the orignal of the same. Hopefully, it will not be questioned.

Yes, petitioner divorce decree, my husband was not married before. If the beneficiary was divorced before then both would be needed.
I submitted a certified copy with raised seal.
I don't know why they asked for the decree and PC again, they later changed their mind, maybe they misplaced it.
I was asked questions about our relationship, why I chose him etc......this phone interview seldom happens so I wouldn't worry about it.

  10. thanks a lot! it makes me feel so much better.

I received a copy of my I 129F with stamp / note when it was processed by USCIS/ NVC attached in my Packet 3. During my interview, I also saw our I 129F when it was being reviewed at step 2. Few pages has some post-it with notes. The lady at step 2 particularly read one page where it had post -it with notes and asked me about my fiance being in the military.

So I think there was nothing to worry about, they put notes for some areas in our application during adjudication process. We just have to answer whatever they asked about that particular page.

  11. i sent the same letter as i sent with orignal K1 petition to USCIS. I just changed the date to have more current date, and signed it. And mailed it to my finacee.

That's perfect. She's been stressing trying to find out what she's got to do.

And by the way, who should the new letters of intent be addressed to??

  12. thank you there!

I see some you timeline below you signature. It looks like you were put into AP after interview and asked PC and divorce documents. Do they ask petitioner divorce documents? Orignal or certified copy? and do you know whey they asked for PC if it wasn't expired? And it also says petitioner was interviewed over the phone? What kind of questions were you asked over the phone?

I never heard of an attached I-129 package being send with the checklist. Sorry, can't help.

  13. Thank you Greenbaum!

Sounds to me like the forgot to take their (sticky) notes off the letter before it was mailed. I think those are flags and will be addressed at the interview or during the CO's review. If you were honest with all your information that was submitted with your 129f package, you have nothing to worry about. Just be positive, look the CO in the eyes when answering and be truthful with your answers you should be fine.

  14. Hi guys,

If anyone can add comments to my concern, it would be greatly appreciated.

We received an email from Sydney consulate today regarding out interview date. They attached a checklist, pkg 4 and approved 1-129f application.
On the 129f application, the scanned copy has two stickies on them. One by the section where I listed my EX spouse information about his previous CR1 approval (filled in 2012) through me then latter divorced (in 2015, filled for divorce in Feb 2015 but it was finalized 6 months); this sticky has nothing written on it.

And same page has information about my fiance. And that portion has a sticky hand written that his F1 student visa was denied in 2011. We had mentioned about his visa denial in DS160.

Should I be concerned? Has anyone else experienced this? Are they suppose to mail copy of approved 129f with pkg 4? Are these stickies added by USCIS/NVC or the consulate. Please help. I know these both could be consider red flags, but I'm positive that we'll be fine as we have bonafide relationship with tons of evidence to prove.

    Any input?

  16. hi guys,

I called and received our case (SYD number) from NVC yesterday. Currently status shows "AT NVC".

What can i do at this point?

1)Can I go ahead and submit our DS160 and schedule medical appt? Or should I wait till the status is changed from "At NVC" to "In Transit" or "Ready".

2)And what is UStraveldocs.com/au used for? Is it just to pay the visa fee? At what point do we pay the fee? Can we pay it now?

    3) I had already submitted a copy of divorce decree with orignal petition? Should I be mailing orignal copy to my fiance? Do I need to send him marriage

    certificate from my prior marriage?

    4) Should he be creating a resume?

Following are things we have already taken care of:

    1) Police certificates

    2) vaccinations

    3) Newer letter of intend to marry, Affidavit of support and tax documents in mail already to him

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank you guys!

  17. Hi,

Did you end up filling out DS 160 and doing ur medical in advance? Our case is at NVC, and I do have my case number, I'm wondering if I can fill out DS 160 and schedule our medical? What did you need to schedule medical? Do they require an interview to be scheduled prior to setting up medical appointment?

I have already mailed him the necessary financial documents for interview. Our police report is done via AFP without fingerprints. Our attorney is now telling us to get one via NSW police report. Do we really need both?

My main concern is for DS 160 and medical. Thank you for your response.

    Hi guys

I have checked NVC case status and it has changed from in transit to consulate to ready. I am still yet to receive any information regarding the packet 3 etc.... I filled out the ds-160 and paid the visa fee on ustravel website but still can't schedule a interview. Do they schedule the interview date? Or can you schedule a date yourself?

Also should I get my medical and police check done now?

    Any suggestions is much appreciated

    Thanks!

  18. Thank you Sukie,

I think for K-1 visa it goes to Consulate of Sydney and it probably goes to NVC for spousal visas.

I was reading through recent (2015) K-1 visa post from other Aussies regarding police checks, and it looks like I would only need AFP. And someone also posted about how they only getting NSW and were told by the consulate to get AFP instead.

We already ordered AFP last week without fingerprints, so to be one the safe side, we'll go ahead and order NSW with fingerprints soon.

Any other K-1 visa applicants from NSW, please share your experience.

Your attorney is full of bull. Australia nationalized its Police Certificates several years ago. The confusion is that both NSW and Queensland are required to submit the request through the Police, and other stated submit directly to the AFP.

If you have gotten a Certificate through NSW, the NSW folks actually went to the AFP for the info.

You are better off if you get the Fingerprint version through NSW - then there is NO question about the validity.

Here is the stupid part: The Consulate in Sydney only requires the name report (ALL names!). But NVC requires the fingerprint report.

And, if you are going through NVC, they will expect to see the NSW report - and will probably reject the AFP report. Their instruction book is still incorrect - as we found out the hard way.

  19. Hi guys,

Our attorney mentioned to us that NSW residents will need both AFP and NSW police checks. I want to ask the Australian community here how true is that.

We are trying to save some $$$.

NSW police checks are close to $200 with fingerprints. We have already order AFP online without fingerprints. And now wondering if that would be sufficient and NSW police check is not needed?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  20. Hi there, my attorney is telling me that NSW residences will need both NSW and AFP police checks. Did you have to get both? I'll really appreciate any help. As I'm getting confused to which we really need. We already ordered AFP for $42 without fingerprints last week.

I'd like to update this pinned post with my experience as at April 2015.

    1. I applied online through the NSW Police Criminal Records section. This cost me $175. (https://npcoapr.police.nsw.gov.au/aspx/dataentry/Introduction.aspx)

    2. After lodging, I noted and printed the confirmation of payment page.

    3. I called Newtown Police Station and they confirmed I could come down immediately as they had nobody in the dock.

    4. Did my prints, told them to send it to Parramatta and they did.

    5. Called Parra the next day and confirmed they had arrived

    6. Two days later I received my certificate.

  21. thank you dear. My finance lives in NSW. Is this true that we need two police certificates. One from AFP and second from New South Wales Police. My attorney is advising us to get both. I'm hoping we will be ok with just AFP one.

It took about a week. I didn't see it go into AP, it went from ready immigrant, to ready non immigrant, to issued. I also got an email letting me know if was issued and giving me the tracking details for the courier.

I actually didn't provide any tax details with my i-134, we had an employer letter and two pay slips. We also had a co-sponsor and they provided an employment letter, a number to call for their accountant if further information was needed.
