I always use phone cards. I have bundles of them already. Also, we use text messages on cell phone. INSHA ALLAH I will send her all the used phone cards and cell phone recodrs so she can take them to embassy, INSHA ALLAH.

Dear Psoft: I am from Hyderabad, Sindh. I have done high school from Pakistan. I have BS in network administration from New York. Currently I am on internships, and also working part time, and working towards my Masters.

Yaar I am not impatient, just very much in love with my shoni. See we are in love since I was 18 and she was 17; then we had to work hard to convince our families; then we had to wait to get married; and now this process, and we are really anxious now cuz we are so close to our destination (being together forever, INSHA ALLAH). Its like when u travel in Awam express from Karachi to Pindi, you can easily go through most of the journey, but if train starts to be late just one hour away from Pindi, you realllllllly go crazy. If you contact USCIS by phone there are two steps. In first step u can only speak to a rep. who has only info that we can already see online, so all they gonna tell u is what u already know. However, there are some situations in which they will transfer u to an immgration officer. Not recieving NOA1 for 30 days after mailing application is one of the situations. When u call USCIS dont wait to listen to all the recordings if u have already listened to it before. after dialing the 800 number, press 1,2,1 to get transfered to a rep. fast.

I called today cuz, I had two NOA1s, and none of the reciept numbers had online status. Today, after 80 minutes of hold I was transfered to an immigration officer, who said the reciept number on 2nd NOA1 is correct and that it will take upto 60 days to see it online and that it may take upto 4 months to process. But she told me about 4 months just by looking at march 05 date. So lets just wait and pray for easy home-coming for every one's family.

I am so sorry to hear that shon. I really am. These people dont understand how sensitive this process is, because applicants are newly married and, therefore, are more touchy.

I dont know more than you about security clerances, but may be your senator can help? I know your are INSHA ALLAH a great future lawyer, but may be seeking some legal help can INSHA ALLAH solve the problem? I know a friend of mine whose naturalization process was really complicated, but once he hired a lawyer, it took only few weeks to complete the case and he also recieved a letter of oppolgy from USCIS.

Crying is natural. But please dont think that you, ALLAH FORBID, can never be with Javed. INSHA ALLAH you will be with him soon. As much as I know you through this forum, you are a strong person. So keep that strength in you and pray to ALLAH SUBHANAHU WA TA'AALA. We all will INSHA ALLAH pray for you.

Here is something that has always helped me in all difficult situations, and I have personal experience of this:

Everyday, first thing in the morning, before starting your day, read:

Surah-e-Fatiha, then:

Aaayah-AL-Kursi, then:

Surah-AL-Kafiroon, then:

Surah-e-Akhlaas (three times), then:

Surah-e-Falaq, then:

Surah-e-Naas, then:

Durood Shareef (at least three times, and then as many times during the day as you can).

It takes few minutes. And believe me it helps.

Also, Namaz-e-Hajaat is a great way to ask ALLAH SUBHANAHU WA TA'AALA for help.

I will pray especially for you. INSHA ALLAH.

i did not file 2 applications!!!!!!!!!!

I sent I-129F for K3 on Jun. 16th, they rejected it and sent me back the whole package, including application, pictures, all forms, check, all supporting documents, even envelope in whcich I had sent my application. (they had rejected because: I had written "N/A" in the last box, which is for signature of person who prepared the form, if other than me. To them it was considered invalid signature). They advised me to send the application back after correction.

So, on Jun. 29th, I sent the application back with correction. It included only one check, and one of each forms, pictures, and documents!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess it cannot be considered two applications. Because they wont issue two reciepts for only one check.

The check has been cashed.

I guess they issued a reciept before going to 4th of July holiday, and when they came back, and check got cashed, some one issued a new reciept. My problem is which one is my correct reciept number????? None has any status online.

Shon, I am very frustrated because of this and it is no laughing matter. I do know you have been through alot and I, and I guess everyone here appreciate your great support. Just a note: We are here to make each other feel better by supporting each other and by giving good advise. I am sure u didnt mean to LOL on me, but when a question is posted, the person asking it needs an answer not LOL. Call to make correction. You dont want your application to have a different address than on other supporting documents. They wont look at your application when u make correction over the phone, just tell them this is a change of address. Good luck

It has a different reciept number than the one I recieved Saturday and it indicates recieve date as July 05 2006 and Notice date as July 07, 2006, which are different dates from the dates on First NOA1. Meanwhile, I am still unable to find the status of any of the reciept numbers online. What to make of it? What should be done??????????????

ALHAMDULILLAH, i have recieved NOA1 for K3 . It looks different from NOA1 for I-130 though. Like....

1) It only has my first and last name, no middle name or middle initial.

2) It does not have beneficiary's name.

3) "Priority date" field is blank.

4) "ASC Code" field is blank. (What is ASC code any way?).

Please take a look at your I-129F NOA1s, and lemme know if thats normal for it?

AKU is a great hospital, no one doubts it, whether u are Ismaili or not. Unfortunately, though, AKU is not on embassy's panel.

I see preceding discussions are about loss of babies so I'll add something to it first. I think that almighty ALLAH has the final decision on when he wants to bring a new life to this world. Whatever the reason is, we must be thankful to him, and I know he always does things for our good, while we might not know it.

The same principle could also be applied to our immigration situations. I agree with all of you that this painful seperation does bring alotttttttt of appreciation for each other, while deepening the love, the care, the trust. So as hard and bad as the wait seems, it does have good things for us.

As a man I am pretty strong, ALHAMDULILLAH, and understand that the end of this journey is nothing but joy, INSHA ALLAH. But, i guess, all men would agree, when your wife cries like a baby, that time its hard to find strength.

Anyways just to release your stress here's a USCIS joke from jay leno

You read about all these terrorists - most of them came here legally, but they hung around on these expired visas, some for as long as 10-15 years.

Now, compare that to Blockbuster: you’re two days late with a video and those people are all over you. Let’s put Blockbuster in charge of immigration.

The worst part of this process is that the applicant is in total dark, we dont and cant know whats heppening.

I have suggested in past that we submit letters to congress so that they ask USCIS to give us real info on their phone line, rather than telling us what we can see online. I am not asking for a change in law but at least what USCIS can do is that when we call them, they can pull our file and tell us exactly whats happening with it. With NOA1 sometimes they enter wrong address in the system, so your NOA1 goes to a wrong address, now your file has a wrong address, and you have to wait 30 days to pass before you can speak to an immigration officer who can tell you that!!!!!!!!!!! What good is national customer service number for???????? Is it only that when i call, they ask me what state do i live in? then pull dates for service center, then tell me what dates they are processing!!!!!!!!! But i can see it online!!!!!!!!!!!

We are so many frustrated people here, but its sad that we are afraid to ask for this change in how USCIS works. When I last asked VJ members to write to congress and tell them to ask USCIS to be more efficient on their phone line, everyone made fum of me, so I guess its our fault for the stress we go thorugh!!!!!!!

Okay, thanks Hafiz30, for your message. I wanted to thank you on the forum, rather than in personal message, for keeping in touch with all Paki's by occasionally sending messages.

Well it has happened to me quite a few times that I get really really frustrated when I think of things that can go wrong which may, ALLAH forbids, delay her arrival here. And I guess this may happen to many going through this process. But everytime I tell myself that this situation is just temporary and I get over it.

But I was reading Psoft's reply in which he mentioned that doctor can cancel or delay medical if applicant is expecting!!!!!!!!!! wow if that happenes, I dont know how will we be able to handle that, because she asks everyday whether I got approval or not???? I tell her it will take just few more weeks, because I think if I tell her its gonna take months before she comes to me, she will just cry day and night, so I always tell her just few more weeks.

Anyways, I hope everyone else is coping with this stress the best they can. I do know some are strgoner than others, but I guess we are not that strong, may ALLAH give all of us strength, AAMEEN.

If they dont move forward very fast with K3s now, i guess I will have to just resign and go to Pakistan and be with her, and come back with her and start new job search.
