  1. Hi guy! I'm reposting this because I put my process date wrong.

I filed my document on October 20th 2017 and my green card expired 12/29/2017.

I got 18 months extension letter last year also transfer notice letter last November. (California >> Nebraska)

However, In the USCIS website when I check my status, it is still showing me same thing that first time it showed me which is they received my case.

In 3 months my extension letter will be expired.

In this case, should I call USCIS to check my status and make appointment for infopass to get stamp or do you think I should wait little more?

    Thank you!!

If your GC expired December 2018 and you received an 18-month extension, your permanent resident status is extended from 18 months from the date of your GC expiration date, which would be June 2020, based on what you stated.  While service centers seem to be speeding up for later applicants, they are still taking around 12-20 months to approve cases.  So, I suggest wait a lot more.

Our case was filed December 2017 - a whole year prior to yours.  My husband's extension letter is good until September of 2019.  I am sure you have more time that you posted, unless you put the wrong year in your post.

My bad. I filed my doc on October 2017 and my GC expired December 2017.

  4. thanks for sharing. but i dont understand the last part where you said she asked " have you ever" question then explain about greencard and citizenship?

Same question on I-485 like 'Have you EVER been a member of, assisted in, or participated in any group, unit, or organization of any kind in which you or other persons used any type of weapon against any person or threatened to do so?' and about explanation how long it takes to get 10 years green card and citizenship.

  5. For the people who is going to have an interview and people who answer my question few days ago,

I want to share my experience today. I posted my question around 2 weeks ago. It was about my overstay visa will

have problem when I have an interview. Most answers were 'NO' because I got married US citizen.

So today I had an interview at 1:55. I heard about interviewers in my town. There are two interviewer one is man and the other is woman.

People around me told that the man is really strict and woman is really nice and easy.

After I heard this I hope I could have interview with that woman.

I went to immigration office around 1:30. Of course with my spouse.

We passed security and gave them my notice. We were waiting around 5 min, there was old lady came to us to follow her.

I knew it that was her!!!! Then we went to her office. She asked us our ID and do the oath. Before she started, she compliment our paper. She said it is complete.

She started ask how we met and our life together.

Such as who cook more at home, about my spouse's jop. Also I showed her our pictures. Then she asked me 'Have you ever' question then explain about greencard and citizenship.

After all she told us good to go. It took only 10 min. I was so surprised and happy and she didn't even ask about my overstay which is I asked here and most of people said

they are not going to ask about that. The interview was literally WOW.

I want to thank all of people that answer my question. That was so helpful!!

And I want to say good luck to people who start or started there AOS processing!

Happy New Year for all of you guys!!!

  6. I came USA on August 2010 for study. I went to language school until December 2011 then I went to back to my country just for visit.

Then I came back USA on January 2012 with same F-1 visa. Then I thought I could still study but my family in my country had a financial problem so they

can't send me a tuition. After all I didn't go to school but I wanted to stay here because I have my uncle's family and aunt's too.

I decided to stay with out permit. I just lived with my aunt.

3 years later, it was 2014 December, I met my wife we dated for 7 months and we got married on July 2015.

Then we filed all the paper work without lawyer(I really wanted to hire but my wife told me we didn't need to) on October.

I did fingerprint and get a notice letter for initial interview on November. So my interview is going to be on 29th December.

After I got notice letter, I have concerned about interview because I overstayed for 3 years.

What if interviewer make me problem with this? What should I prepare for interview with my status?
