  1. Hi all,

I finally got my naturalization interview notice today 02/19. I'm going on 04/18/08 at Philadelphia. My priority date was July 11, 2007. I believed you guys will get it too soon.

    I have questions:

1.) My passport expired last year. I've never been out of the US since I came in here in 2003. Do I need to renew it for the interview?

2.) In the letter I got one of the requirement is to bring "Photo Identification", this means the drivers license or the picture (2x2)? I submitted 2x2 picture in my application.

    3) Is photocopies of Form 1040 our accountant gave us will be okey or do I really need to order from IRS -Form 1722 for our tax?

    Thanks.

  2. Getting nervous..

It has been over 5 months since the day I filed.. And almost 3 months since I had my fingerprinting done.

I am sorry..but I just feel very lost and I wish we can all find out how far along our files are. I was hoping to travel outside the country in March, but I don't think its going to happen :(

    Anyone feeling the same?

and thanks for reading this... many of my friends (who are born citizens) don't understand what I am going thru right now.. they are so lucky.

  3. hello there...

i'm little bit confuse what date i'm qualified to apply for citizenship

I'm applying for naturalization on the basis of marriage to a US citizen:

i got my residence permanent on March 21 2005

and also i'm aware that i can apply in 2 years 8 months.

so my question is i'm qualified to apply in NOV 20 2007 ?, if i calculate NOV 21 2007 which comes to

2 years, 8 months, 1 day including the end date

    is that correct?

    thanks.

I believe you may apply for Naturalization starting 90 days before the 3rd year that your permanent resident card was granted starting the date of your conditional permanent resident card and before you meet the "continuous residence requirement" (have been physically in US for at least 18 months and been not out of the country for more than 12 months). The date is on the back of the card. If your permanent resident card is granted on March 21, 2005 I think you can start applying on Dec. 22, 2007. I'm sure others here can give more better insights.

  4. Hi

I submitted N 400 to INS center Texas for naturalization.I am worried as I did not get any notice from USCIS till now though Priority mail online tracking says its delivered..its quite frustraing.I am wondering do I need to send another application.

I read threads with people waiting like me.Mine was delivered on July 22. I will wait for some more time.

Hi, You may want to check the thread "July filers"... there you might get some more interesting info and update from other people. I think they are way behind in processing due to increase in filing before the new fee took effect.

  5. Hi just got my 10 year green card. It says on the Category "CF1" I understand that means Conditional Fiancee? This category code was the same with my 2-year conditional card. I thought my status with 10 year card should be upgraded to CR1 or Conditional Relative? I came in here on K1 visa. I need some info to make sure the information on my card are correct. Any insights on this? Thank you.

Just to add, should myCategory be "IR" or Immediate Relative? For those who got their 10 year card can you please check this for me just not sure. Thank you very much.

  6. Hi just an update. I sent my I-751 dated July 03, 2006 to VSC and when I check my status online this morning, I read this message:

"On October 17, 2006, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready."

I hope this means my card will arrive in the mail soon. For your information I did biometrics last August. They took me a picture and a fingerprint of my right thumb. I hope that's all they need for my card and no need for Infopass appointment cause it takes 4 hours drive for me to my local office. Does anybody have experience like this lately?

  7. Hello Everyone,

Well the time has come where Clayton and I have to file to remove the conditions. I was just curious on something, the form on the USCIS had an expiration date of 09/30/05 however the instructions have an expiration date of 08. I was just wondering if this version is accepted or not? I checked the forms on this site also and it's the same form. I'm concerned now as I need to file next week, I have everything ready to go. When I sat down this evening to fill the form out I realized the expiration date.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Thanks

    Natalie.

Go ahead. I used the same form with same expiration date just this month and got my 1 year extension notice. Goodluck!

  8. Well, I think sometimes they messed up their records. This thing happened to me a month after I received my 2 year conditional card in the mail. I got a letter from service center stating that they made error in giving me a 2 year card, instead I should get 10 year card because my marriage was 2 years when I became PR which is not true ofcourse. They said, there is no action necessary on my part and my 10 year card will arrive in the mail soon. I know this is not true so I wrote them back with copy of their letter & Marriage Cert and explained to them that I got the correct PR status (2 year green card). After that I didn't heard from them. So when its time to file my I-751 I did and got 1 year extension. I guess they rectifed my record. Hope you've got the right one.
