any idea how long it will take before i can receive a inerview date? my petition is based on a marriage. thanks

When my status changed to "ready to be scheduled for interview" I still had to wait around 3 months and a half to get the letter.

The letter will indicate what you need to bring.

I would recommend to bring all the originals and copies of everything you sent. Also new stuff like taxes 2015.

As soon as you get your online notification, make sure to receive the mail notification cause you need to bring it to the interview.... Just wait patiently because it can take some time from weeks to almost a year....

You will need your green card, passport (from your country) and marriage certificate.

You will only need your gc and marriage certificate when you are on your way back. (Not all marriage certificates have your new name)

Remember to buy your tickets with your passport name, they need to match.

I had my "ready to be schedule for interview" for 3 months and a half. You have to wait for it to change to "interview scheduled" and they will show you which date.

So I received this letter and it indicates that I should carry my green card with me at all times IT IS THE LAW.

My husband had his green card for 5 years before he became citizen and he never had it with him.

If you have a drivers license is it still necessary to carry your gc?

Today I received two letters i130 and i485 notice of approval and my green card online status changed to "card mailed" I am so happy!!!!!

Both my i130 and i485 were approved last night I am so happy!! Taking a rest for almost two years before ROC.

People have been told approved in interviews before

I just check my status and it says "New card being produced" it was really fast!!!! I'm so happy

Never mind... they just updated my status to new card being produced Finally! now I have to wait to have it in my hands.

I just had my interview this morning at 7:30am. We got to the place at 7 and we were out by 8.

The lady asked us questions about the form i485 that we sent. Then she asked us how and when we met. We also told her that I am pregnant (8weeks) That was all.

At the end of the Interview she didn't say that we were approved or anything, but gave us a letter that says that "Your case is being held for review. At this time, USCIS, does not require any further information or documents from you. Should further information or documents be required, you will receive a notice in the mail. We may also schedule you for another interview, you will receive a notice in the mail. Otherwise, a final decision will be mailed once your case is complete."

What does it mean? I feel the interview went well and we had lots of documents and proof.

My processing Center is in Newark, NJ and it says the following:

"Field Office Processing Dates for Newark NJ as of: January 31, 2016

Form Form Name Processing Timeframe:

I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status March 29, 2015"

Meaning they are currently processing only cases submitted on March 29th?

I don't trust that timeline. In Orlando it says that they are processing cases from July 2015 as of Jan 31, 2016. Just wait your time will come.

Got both petition and green card approval notice letters in the mail yesterday and the green card in the mail today .. 5 days before the 6 months mark.. Finally this stress is over. . I can finally go to my home country after 9 years .. Thank God!! .. Good luck to everyone who's still on the path to get it.. I can rest for 21 months for now

I have mine scheduled for April 11. My timeline is almost the same as yours.

Mine is AOS from B 1/2 tourist visa for anyone out there that may be looking for a similar applicant. We were already married, for 5 years, unlike many who came to the States and got married.

I came with F1 Visa 3 years ago.

Hey you guys! Just got done with the interview down here in Memphis, TN we actually in our way back to our hotel room. We got to the office at 7:45am and got called separately around 9:15am the officer called my husband name first, they took less than 10mins, he sit back in the waiting area then the officer called my name. Did the oath thing and sat down, asked about pretty much 10 questions about me and followed up by those criminal questions which i answered no to all. Then he said, I can't change my middle name just yet so the name that's going to appear in my green card is my original middle name and my husbands last name. He also said to wait for 10-14 days for the green card to arrive in the mail. ???

I suggest you try to not think about it. Be happy with your EAD/AP and just wait for a text. This USCIS process isn't comparable. Some people get their conditional GC's before their 90 day filing date and some need to wait for a 11+ months. I've seen some that have gotten their GC's issued within a few weeks of their EAD/AP and more wait nearly a year. Some are waiting for an interview and get it waived automatically, with their status just changing to "Issued" and others get interview letters. in 2014, it seemed that people who received an interview waiver letter were getting their GC's anywhere from 6-13 months. It doesn't make sense, and you don't know if you will get an interview.

If your mobile notifications are turned on, then just put USCIS down for a while. You may get an interview or you may not. But think of it this way: What are the chances of you NOT getting your GC? Probably very low, right? Focusing on your current situation and improving your life is a better way to spend your energy. it's coming; don't worry.

That's the process if you married a GC holder. You first have to receive an approved I130, then you can apply for AOS once you're still in legal status. Otherwise you must return home and do consulate filing. My case is the same.

Oh I am sorry I never meant to sound rude!!! I can see why it is different, but we all apply in October (i485), hopefully we'll get our interviews soon!!!
