  1. Your welcome :). I also wanted to give an update about our immigration interview which we had 2 days ago. We got approveddddddd on the spot :). We went with our lawyer which I think was really helpful. He knew the people in there. We never expected to be approved on the spot since my case was a little bit different with my kids from my first marriage, but it wasn't any problem. Maybe because we were have been now married for 3 years.

The immigration officer was a very nice lady (our lawyer told us that she is in fact the best we could have). She asked us about our Birthday. She asked his for mine Birthday and me for his (I got at first so nervous that I almost said 2015 as his birth year lol, but she was really friendly and smiling). After she asked us how we got to know each other. So my husband and I started telling her how we met. After that she asked if that was my first entry to the United States and if I have ever applied before for permanent residence. She really didn't ask much. Just additional questions like where we got married and when. After this questions she asked us to show her prove of us living together starting with leases and bank accounts. So we had 2 folder's organized with paperwork from junk mail, letters, water bills to receipts of big purchases (like washer and dryer or a couch which we got in the past), mortgage, gym contract's, banfield plan for our pet's on both of our names. So she said that she was really good with the papers and just asked if we also had some pictures. So we brought one photo album filled with pictures. She just went through briefly with those. We didn't really have a lot of pictures with family or friends since we moved around a lot and our family's are also not living here in the states. But we had a lot of pictures with us and our kids (his step kids) on it. So it seems that she was ok with it.

After she went through the pictures she asked my boys how old they are and for their birthdays. Than she asked them if our boys are living with us and if they entered with me the states. Than she made some notes, filed all the papers and said that she will approve us and our Green Card should be on it's way in about 2 weeks and that she would stamp passport for now :). So I gave her my EAD which I had to surrender (in my passport on the stamp says though that this stamp is also valid as a work authorization :) ) and that was it. We were so happy and our lawyer was really a big help and was for sure also happy for us. I would really advise if you are not sure how to file and all that, to consult a lawyer. Because of him we had all the papers which we need and also had it organized very well, so that she really didn't need to ask a lot of questions, because everything was solid :).

Good luck to all of you who still have an upcoming interview and filing :)

  2. Hi there one more time,

my EAD got lost with USPS and is right now floating around in Virginia. I received though the approval of employment authorization. The Dilemma I am in right now is, that I had yesterday a job interview and got hired. Which is really great, before the interview I told them my situation though (since I don't have any ssn yet because my EAD hasn't arrived). She told me that she will work with me which is really great, but as she sent me the online forms to fill and I had to fill out the form's of identity with ssn I couldn't fill anything in expect my Itin which I didn't do so far. The reason is because I am not sure if I am allowed to do that since I haven't got any ssn and not the ID in my hand. I don't know what to do right now. Do I have to wait for my EAD to arrive or is it ok to put the itin in there until the EAD arrives?

  3. Thank you sooo much. That's a very big relieve to know :). Yes we have all medical insurances and everything else on both of our names. We also moved around a lot so we have all the rental contracts from the past til now plus the deed of our house.

Also we got an immigration lawyer who helped us filing the documents since we had absolutely no idea how and what and where to file that. He will be also there during the interview which wouldn't be necessary, but oh well lol

  4. Hello everybody out there on visa Journey,

I finally have the Interview coming up in January and I am super super nervous. Not that I have anything to hide. My husband and I are now 3 years happily married and I don't want to miss him for nothing. He is the best thing what could have ever happened to me. But there is this issue with the joint bank accounts which we were trying to do but USAA didn't accept my itin number (We will keep trying though since I read that other people were able to get it). My question is even though we don't have any joint bank account, my son's and I are on USAA listed as family members. We also have the deed of our house which we bought last year on both of our names as well as car insurance and the phone contract's and water bill.

I know the joint bank account is a big deal, and we are trying to get it, but would be the other proofs which we have enough? We really have nothing to hide, we love each other so I am not to worried about the Interview itself but more about the documentation of the bank accounts :(.

Also I supposed have received by now my EAD which is still floating around somewhere at the USPS (USCIS put by mistake the wrong zip code and it went somewhere else, now it can't be found anywhere), so I am probably not even able to apply for my ssn and drivers license grrrrr. So it's a nerve wrecking time right now uahh.

I hope somebody can give some advice. Have a great week :)
