  1. Sorry I wasn't asking for the process, that will happen regardless, I was asking as she's a British Citizen and there is no dad on her birth certificate therefore no rights to relinquish on paternal dad's side ..... And no way of contacting, dad not known.... I just wanted to know if any other expats have had this situation arise.

I'm sorry we are also in the United States, 15 years now

Thank you for your kind response

  2. I need a little help - Seminole County - Florida
My daughter is just now having her Green Card application processed - We have been here 15 years - I am married etc ( money held us up on the process ) now my 1st question is : Do i have to wait on the Green Card to start the Adoption process?

2: There is no paternal father on the Birth Cert - Reason isn't a nice story ( my daughter does not know the reason either ) but there isn't a name - So there is no paternity to relinquish so that form has me totally stumped :(  i really dont want to have to spill the ugly details in front of my daughter either. -

I have decided to do this without a lawyer as i think that i can do it - I have faith in me lol ---- My daughter wants this so bad - my husband wont know until i have the paperwork ready and she is going to surprise him.

If anyone can shed some light on this please - I am very grateful

  3. I was not sure where to start within "Topic List"
    I am a married to a US Citz with a Green Card - Expires 2017 -

I have not had the money to put my daughters applications in yet, she is 14 and her I-94 is very expired like "2003" expired

I was wondering if there was a way that I could get her a SS# without that application being made at this time,. She has just turned 14 and would like to apply to online classes that are not in our State of Florida and there is noway I can get past the applications without a SS# - Also my husband has now been given excellent insurance coverage through work and they are also asking about her SS #

I hope someone can help me :)

    Thank you
    Charlotte
