  1. I had my interview yesterday in Orlando, FL. My appointment was for 10.30am and i got there right on time. My wife and I were nervous but i was armed with a suitcase full of information and evidence.

We got called in 15mins after we got there and were asked a few basic questions, where we live, what we do, how long we've known each other.

She asked to see our joint tax return, letters of employment and lease and some some bills in both our names.

She then asked us to leave the room and sit in the waiting area. After another 10mins she came out and gave my passport with the I-551 stamp and took my EAD and I-94 and said i was approved and will receive the card in the mail in about 5 weeks.

She didn't ask to see ANY of the things we'd packed in to that suitcase...All in all we were in and our in 45mins !

Took 8 months from Start to Finish !

  2. hello,

anybody who knows or have had a good experience re the above? i've checked a few using UCSIS locator and they seem to charge exorbitant fees and want to do the full medical.

    any info is appreciated.

I went to one on W. Peterson and paid $150 i think for everything. Didn't take too long either. I called to a few places and the price varied from $150 to about $250 or so.

I can forward you the details when i get home tonight if you want to go to that office.

  3. I believe it depends on the office. I guess to be on the safe nice, make copies.

Also, I noticed on your timeline, that you filed your AOS in December of 2005. Is this correct? If so, it seems that the Orlando office has really picked up the pace.

    Best wishes for your interview.

Mine was filed in Dec 05 with a receipt date of Jan 13th 06 in Orlando too and I just got my interview date for Aug 28th, 2006. I was surprised because Orlando had a HUGE backlog a few months back and it looked like it was going to take 2years+....

I hope they continue to keep things moving !

  4. I was just browsing through the USCIS website and checked the timeline for AOS aplications.

On Monday they were processing cases dated May 2004 and today after the update they are processing cases dated Nov 2005 !!!

So anyways this was just meant to give a new breath of life to those of us who thought we'd be waiting in line for years to get approved in Orlando.

I'm hoping this means that they'll be processing things much quicker than we thought !

  5. I sent my AOS package in at the beginning of December, and I've only just recieved my Biometrics appointment letter this week (my appointment is next week- not much notice for anyone who needs to book time off work). How strange. I'm the Orlando office too.

That sounds like a long wait...

Orlando seems to have the longest wait than any other office. I just hope the 749 days on the timeline is a HUGE over estimation of how long it takes to get the interview and green card.

All we can do is wait.

  6. Just wanted to share my experience with Biometrics in Orlando.

The office was a lil tricky to find as it's way in the back left of the complex but after a bit of driving around I found it.

I had an appt for May 30th 10am. I got there at about 9.30 and filled out the form and took a number.

I had 60 people ahead of me so i had a long wait.

I'd only received an appt letter for my AOS biometrics and not for my EAD but luckily when i got there i presented both forms and they stamped both EAD and AOS.

I had a wait of about 2hrs and then when my turn came up the lady took no more than 5 mins to complete the prints, pics and signature.

So now i'll be waiting for the next step.

    Timeline..

    01/04/06 Mailed AOS packet

01/18/06 Received AOS & EAD NOA

05/12/06 Received AOS Biometrics Appt letter

05/30/06 Appt for AOS & EAD Biometrics

    THE WAIT CONTUNUES....

  7. Did you ever get a biometrics interview?

I haven't received anything from them other than a receipt.

I did call the 1-800 number several times and after about the 5th call they decided to try and track it and said it will take 30days for them to get back to me with the results.

I'm also having a problem pulling up my case status for I-485 & I-130 with my receipt numbers. When i enter them in to the system it tells me that the receipt number is invalid.

I do my biometrics appt for I-485 in Orlando on Tusday May 30, 2006.

  8. I currently live and work in Chicago but I was moving apartments when i was getting ready to send out my AOS packet so i used my wifes parents address in Cocoa FL, Problem is now i have to fly to Orlando to do my biometrics and also i've heard that Orlando is one of the slowest offices and are currently processing cases dated to 2004.

If i change my address to my new Chicago address would that mean my entire case would now be processed here?

Any help/advice is appreciated as i'm new to this forum.

    here is my timeline

    01/03/06 - mailed I-130, I-485 & I-765

01/13/06 - Receipt date on NOA for all 3

    05/08/06 - Received Biometric appt for I-485 on 5/30/06
