  1. Hello! I have a question regarding what information is checked when they scan your passport at the airport and if it matters that my name is misspelled on some important documents! I am going to a destination wedding in December and have not left the country since I was naturalized as a US citizen in 1997. My US passport (which I need to renew), driver's license and business documents are all under the correct spelling of my last name but I JUST realized that my name is misspelled on two very important documents- my SS card and naturalization document- which means it was probably misspelled on some original document somewhere but I have no idea of where any of those documents are (I've moved a ton since 1997!).

    But the pressing question now is: will I have any trouble exiting/re-entering the US when they scan my passport? Will it show somehow (through database/agency cross talk) that my name is spelled differently in different databases? Or am I just being paranoid?
