  1. Hi Tammy,

How did you get scheduled so soon for an interview in Houston? a bunch of us have been waiting for almost a year now for a date...shm congrats too.

    Sure!

Jan 6th 2016 - sent my application to the Chicago Location (overnight shipping)

Jan 7th 2016 - application received - this was my priority date

Jan 19th, 2016 - received receipt letters from MSC

Jan 29th, 2016 - Received letter for biometrics (for Feb 11th)

Feb 1st - did walk in Biometrics appointment (successfully)

March 15, 2016 - Application ready for interview from MSC

April 8th, 2016 - received EAD and travel document combination card (after going through my local congressman because I had already been 90+ days --- that really helped, I was approved on the same day I reached out to them)

April 25th, 2016 - application ready for interview, interview given for May 25th, 2016

May 25th, 2016 - Interview completed at Houston Field office and green card approved!

Awaiting Green Card in the mail.

Please note - I found it THE most helpful to make an infopass appointment to get information from them regarding where my file was. I don't think calling the customer service line was that helpful for me. My office was about 25 minutes away so I made a few and went in and talked to an officer. This is very helpful because they can always direct you to the supervisor etc, which is not possible over the phone.

I wish everyone the best of luck. Be patient. Very very patient - I know easier said than done lol, but try.

  2. Mine approved on the spot and got the approval notice during interview, the interview was less than 10 minutes.

Can you tell us about the interview experience? question asked?

You say Houston is 9 months behind - is that only for the interview? For AOS concurrent filers? where are you getting your information from?

From everyone if you look in this forum you can find info from the Houston folks... anyway i filed in July 2015 (AOS through marriage concurrent) and still waiting for an interview i know that most people that filed in May 2015 are also still waiting. An info pass also confirmed that there is a huge back log. Just a heads up

  4. The questions were related to day to day activities.

They started off by calling my husband(petitioner) first. After he came out I was called in. The office here called the spouses separately.

The office first makes to take an oath.

    Then I was asked tyhe following questions;

    What is your current address?.

Do you live in a house or apartment?

    How many bedrooms?

    How many bathrooms?

    Who owns the house?

How many televisions? where are they located?

Do you share room with your husband?

Does you or him have any tattoos?

What is the size of the bed?

Color of the walls in the bedroom?

Any windows? Do the windows have blinds or curtains?

    Who owns the house?

When and where did you get married?.

    How did you meet?

How much time did you speak to each other before deciding to get married?.

The interview was pretty short. I would say 10 mins for me and 10 for my husband.

So the questions were basically to find out if you live together.

    Sorry for the typos :)

    nvm

  5. Anyone in Houston heard anything yet? Still nothing on my side.

Not yet it's driving me crazy at this point, I filed in July but i do creep up here to check up on you...lol because if you haven't gotten a date yet then there is no hope for me you're pretty much my compass to how soon i will get a date.

I really thought this stress would be over by jan 2016 but from the look of things i will be lucky if i get my GC by march 2016...smh

Have you tried calling the customer service no?
