Congrats! Does this mean USCIS work on Saturdays?!

I think they work overtime on saturdays. Thats what the officer who were handling our case said when she called us to talk about some issues then later informed us that day that we were approved. We thought for awhile it was the April fools day kinda thing but it wasnt coz after that conversation we checked our case online and it changed to "New card is being produced" now as Ive checked it changes to "Case was Approved"

Nothing-  Still waiting!  USCIS is closed today for MLK Jr. Holiday.  Let's hope a large group hasn't decided to take the entire week off and get some approvals coming!  Day 61 for me!  It looks like EADs are processing faster than APs for some reason.

I received an update on my EAD that "card was mailed to me" but both AP and AOS still hasnt change.. strange thing is I already received my letter for AP that it was approved and will be mailed eventhough no change at all on USCIS website.. hopefully things would update sooner for AOS too..

  3. I can now confirm that there is no update in the USCIS web page after they send the biometrics letter!!! :) :) :)

I just got mines :') it says Notice Date: 12/17/2016. (online status didn't change)

The appointment is Jan 6th and because is Friday, hubby will have to skip work that day.

I am really happy about it, but still it doesn't mean that I can´t get an RFE later on so I will wait and see what happens.

In the letter says that Cellphones are not allowed. Has somebody walked in with a phone?

Hi, We did our biometrics last Dec 7 in S Semoran Blvd in Orlando office. My husband reminded me and the kids to leave all our cellphones and gadgets in the car, the funny part is when we are already checking in with security he forgot his cellphone was in his pocket and eventhough he is willing to go back outside to put it in the car the security said it was ok and let him in but told him just dont use it while inside.. but then again im not 100% sure if this is always the case :)
  4. Got a letter in the mail today.

"Due to the high volume of expedites for this case type, we are strictly enforcing the criteria (..). While your situation appears serious, you have not provided evidence of an extreme emergent need. (...) burden is on applicant to demonstrade that his/her case meets one of the following expedite criteria:

    [lists criteria from the website]

If you believe that your case meets one of these, please send your request with supporting documentation to the attention of:

    [field office director's address]

(...) We apologize for the delay.

We hope this information if helpful to you."

So, denied. Bye, job. Should have gone with CR1, I'd never do K1 again.

Im sorry, I understand where your coming from. I also initially ask my husband if we can put a request to expedite our application for the reason that my eldest is close to age out and secondly I want to be able to work sooner so I can help my husband with our finances, coz right now he is the only one supporting me and our 5 kids. We are also really stretching everything out since he filed and paid for total of 6 applications altogether. And this whole process is not only stressfull but also emotionally and financially draining :(

  5. Thank you! And you too :)

Yes lol it feels almost like when you buy alcohol and they might or might not ask for your ID! Hahahaha :D

You're absolutely correct! We cant really tell what else they would need coz they sometimes ask for stuff thats not even listed on their website or letter.. Anyways, now lets hope everything goes smoothly and we'll get a notification for an interview appointment sooner or hopefully they'll just waived it lol but considering the upcoming christmas holiday we may not get any notification until January :)

  6. I''m confused, are the messages where I'm quoting/addressing you not popping up on your screen? testing testing...

In any case... Guys, just had a successful bio walk-in at the ASC in Desoto. Arrived 1:55 pm was first in line. She asked to see ID and marriage certificate since I'm using my married name now and the reason why I was coming early. She was very polite and courteous. I filled in the form with my info and before I even sat down I was called up for fingerprinting. Couldn't have taken more than 15 min :)

Oh, and I saw some more checks cashed! That's great, congrats ya'll :dancing:

    Welcome :)

Hi we also did our biometrics this morning at 8am and good thing they only asked us our Photo ID and appointment letter and Im also using my married name now but they didnt ask for any marriage license. I guess each field office are diffrent. And we just have to be always ready in every situation. Congrats!

  7. You can try and place an expedite request, try and argue the K-2 aging out is an emergency situation. But I'm not sure it's going to work. Good luck.

Don't know anything else you could do besides that.

Yup and its frustrating but, trying to be positive and hoping for the best and speedy process. Our biometrics appointment is tomorrow 8am hope after that we'll get an interview appointment before the year ends.

  8. To all who are waiting two weeks for their NOA: did you use a personal check or a money order/cashier's check? My theory is that using the latter makes the funds more quickly available, rather than waiting for them to clear out of your personal account. Our package was delivered on the 10th, so I am hoping for a response prior to Thanksgiving.

I don't think it has something to do with that as we use Cashier's check so there is a guaranteed funds available but still took us 2 weeks for NOA :)

  9. Hi! I'm not from your area, but can tell you that you will not need a lawyer to proceed. You and your fiancé need to marry before 90 days has passed after your entry, and then apply for adjustment of status for yourself and the children :-) See the AOS guides on this site :-)

Yeah I really think we dont need a lawyer but my fiance wants to make sure we are doing it right. Anyways, il check more information on diffrent sites and maybe he would listen to me this time..thanks!

  10. Hi Everyone!

Me and my 5 kids arrived here last Apr 7 thru K1/K2 visa.Right now we havent done anything yet and my fiance is thinking of consulting a lawyer to help us on what needs to be done first to make sure we are on the right track..anyways since my fince is not in a hurry to move things forward yet, my kids and I are ussually just stay at home coz my fiance is busy working trying to catch up of what he missed when he was on leave to pick us up in the Phils. So I am wondring if anybody here lives anywhere near us? Would love to hear from their personal experiences around here.. Thanks in advance!

  11. Good news! Should only be a few days now before 2GO is knocking on your door.

Yes Im really excited to get our visa back with all the correct information this time :) So then I can schedule the CFO thing next. Again, thank you everyone! And Thank you Visa Journey!

    God bless us all!

  12. Yes it is best to have an interview date before completing the medical, but NO it is not necessary to have the interview date, many have completed their medical without an interview date.

Interesting that they gave you a December interview date over the phone, normally they don't accept interview opening any different than can be seen online. Good to know.

What I had shared is purely based on my experience, we initially wanted to do the medical first to avoid the risk of rescheduling if in case something went wrong with our medical that may cause delay and of course we also wanted to be certain before we pay anything thinking that if we messed up we might end up paying again for mine and 5 kids and that's a huge amount of money. So 'cause im worried I made the call Nov 10, 2015 and asked the lady if we can do our medical first but since she said no that's when I asked her if we can have a Dec schedule but its not showing yet online so she asked me what date in Dec so I chose Dec 9 and it was done. Other experience may be diffrent than ours :)

  13. Hi, I had read that phone interview dates would only be what is on the calendar.

My question then is did they send you and EMAIL confirmation so they had PROOF to bring to the interview that day?

I can see it especially in the Philippines.

"sorryyyyyyy Misssssssss, we have no record of interview for you and you have no proof" come back in 3 months....LOL

Yes they did send me the confirmation on my email. I made the call Nov 10, 2015 and explained that I wanted a Dec 9 schedule but its not showing online and the lady did it for me instead. I received all 6 confirmation for mine and 5 kids 10 minutes after that conversation. Like I said, I was just sharing my experience, after all it wouldnt hurt to try :) Goodluck!

  14. Hi! Thanks for sharing your experience. Yeah it was very expensive considering all the tests that are mostly routine for Annual Physical exam (which we have every year and vaccinations).

Are you done with your interview? We will have ours on Monday Jan. 11; do mind sharing what were the questions asked to your K2s? My kids are 19 and 16 years old.

Yes we had our interview last Dec 9, questions asked was all basic information about my fiance and when and how we met, and how does he feel about my kids and vice versa. My kids was only asked each other birthdates and thats it. The lady consul was very nice and accomodating that's why we felt comfortable during the interview. My kids are ages: 19 18 16 12 & 10, we got our visa last Dec 22 but had to return it to USEM for some correction. Now we are just waiting for it to be delivered again hopefully very soon :) I wish you the best in your interview! Just relax and answer the question as honestly as you can and dont forget to smile :)

    God bless!

  15. Ok things are moving very fast.

She got the visa fee paid $265 at BPI.

I now have the receipt numbers and am able to schedule the interview already as soon as NEXT week.

However we don't have her medical done yet and no word that Embassy received the file from NVC.

So anyway when I went to check available interview dates it only has for January.

There is nothing showing for next month or the following months.

    Is this normal?

Does the US Embassy in Manila only allow scheduling one month at a time?

We want a February interview but nothing showing as an option yet for that month, again only January.

The other issue is that it is my understanding from what I have read here that she can't schedule her St. Luke's Medical until AFTER we have appointment letter for Interview is this true?

Seems like we are stuck in a hole. Can't get medical done until we get interview date scheduled. Can't schedule interview for Feb because not yet available on-line.

Thanks to all who can help.

    Hi,

Based from my experience when we tried setting our appointment online there was no open slot for December 2015 yet and the only option was to choose from any dates available for Nov 2015 and since we havent done our medical yet at that time we wanted to choose a Date in Dec so I called USEM and asked them if I can proceed with our medical first before scheduling our interview and I was told we have to set the appointment for interview first before the medical and she actually set our interview on Dec over the phone. So my suggestion to you is try calling USEM and let them know you want to set the interview date on Feb instead.

    Best of luck!
