My husband filed for me from the United States. During my scheduled interview date he will be with me in my home country. The letter says the petitioner is not required to go. However many accounts here state that it has been a good interview experience for them taking their petitioners with them. What should we do?

You can always go to a lawyer or the police, and there is such a thing as handwriting analysis and forensics! If a signature is truly forced it can be proved in a court of law! Best of luck and sorry to hear about your story. There's always hope so don't give up!

If you are not a citizen of that country then no.
Thanks!

No. 12 consecutive months unless country of citizenship or residence (then 6 months.)
Thanks a lot for your response!! Appreciate it. I am no longer a resident of that country, and I wasn't a resident at the time of application either. So I guess that no longer applies to me right?

I have an urgent question to ask. I understand that police certificate is required from every country that we stayed in after 16 for more than 12 months. Does that mean 12 months at a stretch or a total of 12 months? I moved out of a different country when I was 16.5 years, and visited there once a year but never stayed for 12 months at a stretch. Do I need a police report for that country?
