Hi Friends,

I am self employed and take alot of legal business deductions..my business took in about 40,000.00 but after deductions shows a profit of only 6500.00 or so..i do have about 100,000.00 in equity in my home and about 25,000.00 in the bank.

Will it be a problem if my business only shows 6500.00 as a profit..will they deny the AOS because of that.and if they do will she have to go back to the Philippines?..any help will be appricated..Thanks,

Is it true that if you are living around Metro Manila will take only 3-days and if outside 7 days?...Please give me a hint my hubby will only stay for 10 days i really like to know..Thanks!!!!!

Dlebro's delivered my fiancee's visa to a small province in Cebu in only 4 business days.Even in Manila it could be 7 days so i consider us lucky and I think Delbro's is doing a much better job now than in the past..they also have a text hotline that you can text to and if you go to their website they also have a tracking system..if you put in you case# that is on your Delbro's reciept you can see when the embassy relased it to them for delivery and if its out for delivery.I hope this helps and widh you the very best in your new life with the one you love..I still have to wait until march 21st before I can go back and get my babygirl..the reason is that the CFO wouldnt give her the sticker until her 18th b-day which is on the 21st of March..so im just trying to count the days and be strong until we can finally be together forever..its hard,very hard to be away from her but I know it is only making our love and apprication grow stronger for ech other.Take care and treat each other with all the love and care in your hearts,

Anyway im sorry to hear about your girl that has not been allowed yet by the cfo"s for her to have the certificate not until she reached 18. Thanks for the encouragement Boo..but the days are going by so slowly..OMG..im going crazy here.I really need the physical touch and closeness we shared on my 3 trips to see her..i dont know how to make the time pass fast enough.I maen my heart aches everyday and i cant stop thinking about her..i dont know what to do,I pray everyday to God and thank Him for brining us together& to bless our relationship..Hes done so much to get us this far..I guess it the last trial for us before she is able to come..I think it makes the love grow stronger but the heart has a pain in it..a longing to hold her in my arms and whisper in her ear how much I love her and how much she means to me..any advice will be greatly appricated.

I'm surprised that your petition was even approved since the minimum age for marriage in the Philippines is 18. I was under the impression that you had to be eligible to marry according to the laws of both countries. I can understand that the CFO would withhold their stamp until she is of legal age to marry according to Philippine law.

When I-129F was filed, they probably look at whether both parties were legally able to marry in the state he lives in. Often you can get married at 17 with parental permission. Don't think our govt. cares much about the Phil. laws of marriage when proccessing the application. BUT to get her here, you also have to be "legal" in the RP before she is allowed to leave.

So when she is 18 on March 21st then there will be no problem with her grtting the CFO stamp right?..coz i booked her a plane ticket for March 28th to fly home with me then..and i just want to make sure the CFO wont screw us when she turns 18 after i made the travel reservations.

Where did she take the seminar, Cebu? Claudeth took her seminar in Cebu and it was a long, drawn out affair that went from 7am to 7pm. I have been reading the CFO link and don't find any requirements about age of the fiancee. The only thing I could suggest is to call the Manila office, maybe they see it differently.

Yes irish took it in Cebu..i will try to call the Manila office do u have their phone#Ill try to call tonight after Irish and I chat..hope they can help.So did Claudeth pass and get her certificate?has she had her interview at the embassy yet and is she home with you now?i hope so.

Hi everyone,

First I want to let you all know Irish recieved her visa from delbro's in only 4 business days..wow we were so happy so i went and bought her a ticket to fly back home with me.She had already taken the CFO seminar a week before her interview and the nun told her to bring back her approved visa and she would issue her the certificate for the stamp...well we went back to get the certificate and the nun who interviewed her was transferd to the manila office.the new staff member then told irish she cant give her the certificate until her 18th birthday which is March 21st.I dont know if that is the truth or not because her dad attened the seminar with her and she also has parental consent to be married to me and consent to travel abroad with me in affidavid form.The nun who interviewed her was aware of this and never said it would be an issue and promised her if she had an approved visa she would give her the certificate..but the new staff wouldnt let her get it and said come back on March 21st and they would have no problem giving it to her,they also said if her dad was accompaning her to the US they could give it to her now but since she is traveling with me they cant.I dont understand and i am very dissappointed.I had to come home alone and now wait another 3 1/2 months and fly back to get her.Can anyone give me any advice or know if this is right what they told irish?..i am missing her terribly right now and dont know if theres someone i can talk to to see if she can get the stamp sooner or not.please anyone who can help please respond.

Hi, sorry for the delay i just got back to the states last night..irish recieved her visa from delbros on tuesday the 21st of november..but she wont be able to come home to me until march 28th coz the CFO wouldnt give her her certificate until her 18th birthday which is March 21st..she took the seminar a week before the interview and the nun told her to bring back her approved visa and she would release her certificate..well when we went to the CFO office the nun who interviewed her had been transfered to manila and they had a new staff and still wouldnt let her get the certificate they told her if her dad accompanied her to the US they would relase it but she couldnt release it if she was flying home with me..ughhh..i had alrady purchased her plane ticket coz of what the nun told her..so i changed the ticket to March 28th and ill be going back to fly her home to the US in March...oh the pain im feeling now and missing her so very much.But i know the hard part is over and we will be together finally in march..anyone else ever have this happen to them?I would think with an approved visa it should be fine coz she also had parental consent to marry and be accompaned by me to the US.

Jinky and I were under the impression that she would receive her packet 4 after about a month from the time the consulate received our visa application.

I just looked at a few timelines and notice that most of them received the packet 4 very close to the interview date. Does this mean we will just get a letter instead that gives us enough time to plan for the interview date?

Hi guys you wont believe this but my fiancee recieved her packet 4, 4 days after he interview lol..so if i was u id either get it from st lukes or just download the form from the embassy website or u wont be ready if what happens to u is the thing that happened to my fiancee..i had a laywer do the petition and he filled out all the packet 4 forms and sent them to me and i sent them to her so she already had them..thank God for that or she wouldnt have been prepared when he med and interview came.

well its offical....just got of the phone with the embassy and they told me Irish was approved by the counsular yesterday and they will release the visa in 3-4 days for delivery....WOO HOO..Thank You GOD,for all your blessings and answered prayers....and to the rest of you all here going through this same process,thanks for all your support and encouragement.I will have to come back to the PI in Dec. to bring Irish home..ill be here until the 23rd but i dont think Delbros will get it to her province before i leave...but its ok coz the hard part is finally over..I wish all the rest of you good luck with all my prayers that you also will be approved soon.

yes I think we got approved..not sure because the counsular was a real jerk...but when we went to window 37 for our release of documents there was a purple approved ticket on our folder and the she handed back our pics and emails and gave us a slip to go pay Delbros for the delivery of the visa..but we did have a bad experience with our counsular.he wasnt friendly or considerate to out emotions..knowing how nervous we both were..and he didnt even say anything when Irish said thank you sir at the end of the interview....but i did leave another post about what happened under its own thread in this forum..any ways i think we r ok..thank you God...and also Congrats to all the other approvals in these past few days.

First congrats to all who got visa approval theses past few days.Yna..was very nice to meet u and ur baby..We had a real jerk as a counsular..Irish was so nervous and she didnt understand some of the questions he was asking..he didnt have any concern for the way she was feeling...it was going ok until he asked her what is the age gap between us..and she told him the gap which was ok but then said my age and the said she was 17....oppps screeech...he said your are only 17?....did u know u r a minor???..she said it dosnt matter "We Love each other very much"...he said it does matter coz the marriage laws in the U.S....so i had to step in and said sir I have here the marrigae laws of my state and it is ok for 16,17 to get married with parental consent..so i haned him the laws of Florida..and i also handed him the parental consent affidavit from Irish's parents..he took them and said wait ill be right back....when he came back he asked me to sit outside...i was like ohh nooo..dont i have a right to be with her???? but i didnt say anything and went out of the room...i was so upset and scared..So when Irish finally came out she said he took the consent and laws to another counsular and the other counsular read them and nodded his head yes its ok...so he came back to her and asked her some more questions about my family and looked at the pics and emails..and then told Irish to go have a seat outside till our # was called..so we didnt know what was going on..about 10 minutes later our # was called to go to window 37 where there was a purole approved ticket stapled to our folder..the lady gave back the pics and emails and told us to go pay Delbro's...but we are still unsure if we did get the approval or not?..Yna if u read this what do u think?..you said to me before you left look for the purple sticker..thats what was on it..so im assuming we are ok..but the counsular was just so inconsiderate..Irish said thank you sir when she left the counsular and he didnt even reply..i dont think he really likes his job too much..so what do you alll think?..we are ok right?...please chime in and help us relieve our stress..Thanks all,

Well, at worst case, she should have a receipt for the charge which could be used to verify that she at least attended, but I'm hoping that everything will be OK. You can actually call them to get the story from them. I have called everyone... CFO... PRISM... SLEC... USE... HOTELS... and the whole nine yards because I want the story straight from them to clear up any confusion.

Yes looks like we are on deck NOV 6 Monday. We have everything in order our confidence level is pretty high. I just returned from the PI last week spent another 10 days. It would have been nice if we had the interview then, I would have loved being there but...Jenn will do just fine.

Thank you so much for giving us the good luck comment.I think I am having my nervous breakdown now.I am going to be with Irish at her interview and i think i might pass out too.We've come so far now and i am hoping that all goes smoothly and we pass.I dont know what id do if we were deined.I am also gonna aski if we can pick up her visa at the embassy coz she never recieved her packet 4 or her cenomar and i dont want to take a chance the visa gets lost in the mail too.Plus i would like to bring her home with me since ill be there until the 23rd of Nov.What r my chances of them letting us pick up the visa at d embassy since ill be accompanying her and expalin about the mail not getting to her?Wow it would be a nice Thanksgiving gift if it was granted.Thanks for any replys or advice and good luck to all the rest of us going through this process.

Hi, My fiancee still hasnt recieved her packet 4 yet and her medical is Nov 6th & interview Nov 13.She lives in a small province town 3hrs from cebu..i recieved a copy of her appointment letter a few days ago.

Should i be worried that she hasnt recieved it yet..only 3 weeks to go before the med and 4 till interview.

What should we do?

Is it common that she didnt get it yet?..I just want everything to be in order when i arrive on the 9th to attend the interview w/her.I called the embassy a week ago and they said they sent it out a week before but still no sign of it yet and they dont have a tracking #any advice please help.

I do not know specifically about Manila but many consulates have P3 & P4 available online. If they don't then I assume a call or e-mail to the NIV section would be appropriate

Well she has all d forms coz i have an atty. who filled them out 4 her and prepared her packet 4..the same forms she will get from the embassy..but i know she needs the appointment letter to get in for he interview,thats what concerns me..but like i said i did get a copy of that letter from the embassy..could we use that copy to get in for the interview?

Please dont answer this if you dont know..I posed this question in another part of this site and all I got was very negative and demeaning responses.My fiancee happens to be 17,we are in que to be schedualed for and interview soon.What I need to know is if they will still have us interview?She has an affidavit of parental consent to come here to the US for the purpose of marriage which was submitted with the original petition.

Ive called about a dozen laywers and have one representing us through this process and all but maybe 2 said it just matters if in the state where the marriage will take place that it is a legal marriage.Here in Florida it is legal with parental consent.I dont know what to think or who to believe,but I know I will be devestated if we are either denied an interview or denied the visa,We both love each other truley and deeply and have gone through alot to get this far in the process.Please dont condem us for our younger age but we both know what we want out of this relationship,a happy simple life together and a close family with a few children.We are like 2 peas in a pod,we compliment each other so well and get along on so many levels I know we were meant for each other.

If you know the answer please respond or if you can tell me where I can look for the real truth about this please leave me the info so I can contact the right people.Maybe someone who lives there in the Philippines can direct me to the right people.

So i am wondering if it was approved by the USCIS then does that mean her age is not a factor? or if it was would it not have been approved by the USCIS right?In my state if the person wanting to get married and is under 18 they only need parental consent and then they can legally marry,which my fiancee has.

As far as US laws and USCIS regulations are concerned yes, your fiancee may be eligible to marry at 17. But you and Irish will also deal with the Manila embassy who will make sure that you are compliant with both US and Philippine laws.

Yes, it will be a problem. As far as the US embassy is concerned, Irish will not be compliant with Philippine law. True you’re not marrying here but in the US and she would have turned 18 then. But Philippine law and our Immigration officers will prevent your fiancee from departing the country for purposes of marriage until she's 18. She will not pass CFO seminar which is a requirement for departure. Moreover, a 17 year old cannot travel alone without Dept. of Social Welfare & Dev. clearance. So she will be needing clearances from two govt. agencies, CFO and DSWD, and I guarantee you, both clearances will be denied.

The affidavit was signed and notorized by a judge in Somboan, I also have done this through a laywer who told me that was all she needed was a signed and notorized consent from her parents.

I assume you spoke t o a US lawyer who is not familiar with Philippine marriage law? At any rate, judges and lawyers make mistakes and they can be charged with gross negligence of the law. Even if consent was given, our law says such consent is void. We cannot argue with written law.

Best thing to do under the circumstances is to delay the interview until after she turns eighteen. Wait a few more months. This will give you at least a fighting chance.

The next issue that the embassy would be looking at is the age difference between you and your fiancee. If there is a huge gap, better prepare yourself to prove bona fide relationship. It will be tough.

Irish already has her DSWD clearence and as far as the CFO he father will be attending that with her.She also already has her passport.The fact that she is 17 now shouldnt stop the approval because we have 90 days to marry and by then she will be 18 so I dont see why they would deny her a visa to come here to marry,its not like we are gonna be married when she is still 17.Also id like to say that she told me she was 20 when we first started chatting and I didnt find out she was 17 until after i got back from my 1st visit and started the paperwork for the K-1..she had to fess up after she went to get a ceritfied copy of here birth certificate, but by then i am already in love and had proposed and had retained a K-1 law firm to do the processing.The lawyer knew she was 17 and said it would not be a problem as long as she has an affidavit of parental consent..he would not have taken the case if he thought for any reason it would be denied because they have a money back garuntee if they cant get her the visa.I just spoke to him and he said there is nothing to worry about she will be approved.
