  1. Not sure if anybody would actually know this but hey, who knows? I was never told where my port of entry is supposed to be.

I am flying from Cardiff in Wales tomorrow morning, then stopping and changing flights in Dublin in Ireland, then flying from there to Chicago, then from Chicago to Columbus, Ohio. I'm assuming my port of entry would be Chicago as it is the first American airport I'll be landing in and surely they would want my information as soon as I get into America? But perhaps it could be in Ohio instead as that is the state I'll be residing in?

Any help would be really wonderful. Thanks!

Yes, your POE will be Chicago. I had my POE in Chicago just under a month ago before flying on to Cleveland, OH, and it was super smooth. Took be probably 5-10 minutes and I was not taken into another room, which I've read some other people have been. Good luck and congrats!

  2. Good Day! Question on the I-864 Do I need to put N/A for items that I don't need to answer? Thanks in advance

This is what the instructions say:

    3. Answer all questions fully and accurately. If a question does not apply to you (for example, if you have never been

married and the question asks “Provide the name of your current spouse”), type or print “N/A,” unless otherwise

directed. If your answer to a question which requires a numeric response is zero or none (for example, “How many

children do you have” or “How many times have you departed the United States”), type or print “None,” unless

    otherwise directed.

  3. Hi everyone,

While I'm waiting interminably for the mail with my fiancee's original signature documents to get here from Turkey, I'm working on the proof of meeting and proof of relationship parts of our initial petition.

While trying to figure out how to capture evidence of all our chats in WhatsApp, I discovered the "storage usage" section of the app. This shows a snapshot of our WhatsApp history with each other, more specifically that we've exchanged nearly 76,000 messages in the last year, as well as over 1,300 images. Do you think it's sufficient to print a screenshot of this history, or do I need to comb through and actually provide snippets of a year's worth of conversations?

I do also have Skype call logs to include, as well as photos from multiple visits.

    Thanks,

    Erin

    Hi!

I would use the screenshot of your total amount of messages, but I would also include some random snippets of conversation. It might be a little time consuming to get it together but definitely worth it -- it's better to have too much evidence than too little. Definitely also include your Skype logs and pictures together. Do you have plane tickets, hotel booking receipts, stamps in passports too that you can use to show that you have met up? Good luck!

  4. My K1 visa got approved yesterday (wooo! :D), so now I'm worried about what comes after.

I read the SSN guide from visajourney (http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn) but due to some circumstances we will have to get married within the first week of my arrival. If we get married so soon I'm not sure if I can follow the instructions on the guide to get an SSN.

I'm completely confused what to do now :/ Do I still follow this procedure to get it or is there another procedure I'm supposed to follow?

Hi! I looked into the same thing and contacted the court house where we will get married directly -- they said I did not need to have an SSN, but that they then would require two other documents to prove my identity. Maybe try doing the same? Good luck!

  5. Hey everyone, I shipped off my aplicación last Tuesday and just got my NOA1 this evening and news that the aplicacion is being forwarded to the California service center (answered prayer). Anyway, I've heard some rumors that k1 have been being processed faster lately and was wondering if this is true and what to expect. Or if it's pretty much the same as always and I can go off of the timeline that's here on vj.

    Thanks

Hi! Our case was processed in California too and we received the NOA2 19 days after getting the NOA1. Good luck!

  6. Hi again

Okay will include the 1040 for 2014 and just hope they look at current income and ignore that sum.

Savings include at least a couple of thousand, so i hope they will ignore that he didn´t tax enough last year.

Thank you all for your answers :) feel more comfortable about my decision now.

We were in the exactly same situation as you guys. My US fiancé's 2014 tax return was way below the required poverty line, but his current salary is way above. I had my interview in Stockholm last week and this was not a problem at all. I brought along a letter from his employer stating his annual salary and several recent pay stubs. You'll be fine. Good luck!

  7. Thanks for the info. We are not gonna go the marriage route, we've decided on the K-1. We're still together in New Zealand until end of February, and I'm going to Oslo for a bit after then back to the states. So hopefully fingers crossed we won't be spending several months apart. I'll look into the co sponsor for Oslo.

    Cheers!

Hi! You might already be aware of this (I wasn't when I started the process), but all K1 visas in Scandinavia are processed in Stockholm, Sweden. Good luck!
