Something weird happened just now. I received a notification for my I-765 so when I checked it's status it changed from "Card was delivered by Post Office" to "Card was mailed to me". I have already received my EAD last week but what's weird though is My I-485 also changed, not the status but the date. It says "Case is ready to be scheduled for an Interview" since May 30, but now when I checked it online it says "As of July 28, 2016, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status.....Does that mean that I just lost my place in the queue for interview since the update date changed to July 28 from May 30?

Hi everybody,
I just have a question about the I-485. Is there such a thing as "expedite request" for that? The status of my I-485 is "Case is ready to be scheduled for interview" since May 30. I know that the San Francisco USCIS is still processing the September 2015 filers and I'm not sure if I would also qualify for the expedite request. I'm in the process of applying for a program in a school here but I wouldn't be able to qualify for a financial aide if I don't have my permanent residence card. The class starts this October 2016.

Hi guys, I just have a question.
So, my employer asked me to fill out the Form 1-9. I just want to make sure that I answer the section 1 correctly.
I should tick the box that says "An alien authorized to work until (expiration date, if applicable mm/dd/yyyy), right?
I only got my EAD, still no update for the greencard yet.

Awesome! Just after your said that the cases didn't exist, voila approved!
I just checked my cases online and nothing.. bummer. The fact that yours is approved is good news for all of us though, especially since you're in CA like us!
I called them early this morning and received a callback this afternoon. I only found out about my status when I spoke to Tier 2. I tried checking it after we got off the phone and there I saw that it was already approved. I don't think it matters though for processing EAD and AP. Those 2 should be processed within 90 days. Well, with my I-485 still haven't got any news since May 30 when it says "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" and I don't expect for the schedule to come any sooner. I know some of the San Francisco filers, it took about 5-6 months for them to receive their schedules. It's okay as long as I have my EAD so I can already start working. Don't worry you'll receive news soon about your EAD.
Great news see I told you it would be today or tomorrow Grats!!!
Thank you Moslund. I know. I thought I would never the light at the end of the tunnel. Lol.

Just checked my I-765 and I-132 and both cases were approved!
-
Also on my ~90th day. I actually sent my AOS on the same day as you.
I'm very irked by the fact that my case status for the I 765 doesn't exist
Same here. Validation errors for both I-765 and I-131. ?

On my 90th day today. ?
I noticed that they approve cases by batch. Last week there was really no progress and then on July 12, there were a lof of people who were approved. After July 12, there were no updates again with the case numbers. I found out about this by running case numbers before and after mine on the USCIS app.

FYI for California fliers, Check my signature.
Congratulations on your approval. Yey!

I talked to a Tier 2 representative earlier and was told to have more patience. He said they are working on the backlogs since they received a high volume of applications. Idk if that's verbatim or if that is really what's happening.
-
I called them earlier today and was able to talk to a helpful representative.
I submitted a service request for approaching regulatory time frame for my EAD which is passed 75 days.
He asked me if I want to do it today or after the 90 day period because if I do it today I won't be able to submit another one in the next 30 days
He also explained that it might be because of the background check that other agencies take time to reply.
So, yeah hopefully it works.

Just try calling USCIS and asking to be transferred to a tier 2 officer and they refused!!! The girl said she must try to solve my problem first. And I said my problem is that my case is on day 85 and my job is waiting for this EAD to put me back on payroll! After saying everything I already knew the call just got cut and she did not transfer me... seriously?
I also experienced that the other day. The representative just hang up on me. Very rude.
Btw, I called them again today to file a service request and talked to Tier2 and was told that I can't do that. I need to wait for 90 days to file a service request for my EAD. ??

Is creating a service request online the same as doing it with a representative over the phone?
I started counting from the received date of my NOA1.
I still can't access my EAD and AP case numbers online and it'll be my 75th day this Wednesday. Didn't receive any RFEs or whatsoever. I'm just wondering what's taking them so long to process my application. ? Maybe they just tossed it away and is already on the bottom part of the pile.

First, he put me on hold for 10 mins and just told me the received date of my I-765 which was April 15 and there's nothing he can do. And he was condescending. I was even polite to him. What a great way to start the day. I feel like I'm not getting anywhere when I call them.
-
Oh, that's good. Congrats to both of you, Ash and CoolStrawberryPie.
I'm approaching my 75th day for my EAD and AP and I'm planning to lodge a service request. Do I just do it online or do I need to call USCIS to do it? I don't wanna call them anymore because the last experience that I had with their representative was terrible. He was very rude and just hang up on me.
-
Okay so ours did the same thing.
Our EAD and AP didn't change though, but our I-485 changed to New Card being created.
So yeah unless there are some major messups, does this mean our GC is on the way?
Congrats. ?
Did your case go from 'Case received' to 'New Card is being produced'?

I see the majority of us waiting for our EAD's are in the same boat, still waiting... Has anyone heard of an explanation why EAD processing times have significantly slowed down over the last few weeks? VJ time progression charts show they are still working around the 1st of April which has been the case for the last few weeks.
At one point it jumped to the 6th of April but only to go back to the first. If you look at the timeline it shows people with notification dates of around the end of April now getting notification. Just curious to know if anyone has heard of anything on these. The people that do seem to be getting their EAD's now are people beyond 75 days putting in service requests and calling.
AP shows processing April 13th which should be close to where EAD's would normally be I think. At least historically I have seen them much closer together on processing times.
I've been trying to call them and ask the reason why it's taking too long to get my EAD and they can't give me any answer other than "I just have to wait for my 75th day and create a service request" and then wait for another 15 days for a response which is non sense cause it would already be my 90th day. Idk if creating a service request would help but I would try my luck and just do it anyway, and I'll be calling them everyday to ask for an update. lol. I don't know what else to do.

Hi All,
Still no update on any of our receipt number. Day 70 of continuous validation errors.
Being patiently hopeful that there is light at the end of this dark tunnel.
Kind regards,
ConiMoni
Hang in there. We almost have the same timeline. Just a day delayed for mine.
I still can't access my case numbers online. I will be calling them on the 29th of June(75th day) and I'll also create a service request online. You should also do the same.
I have been calling the USCIS customer service line and they're no help at all.

OMG I got the most dumbass representative one can possibly get
She told me several times the same things that being 30-45 days
I was like: but i'm already past those days
she was like: I can't check it
I told her: that's funny cause the previous officer told me that I was on the day 36 after filing and you say you can't see that information
she apologized like a thousand times. I asked her WHEN I SHOULD CALL TO PUT AN INQUIRY ABOUT my case status online exactly?
then she said you should give it some time and the local offices process the cases in order they receive them and it usually takes around 6 months so give it some time okay?
i was pissed and said "thank you bye"
the most uninformative call I ever had
Maybe we got the same representative. Lol
I also got the same response.
What do we do then if it had passed the processing time for EAD/AP and we already lodged a service request online? They would just tell you to wait for 15 days which would technically be our 90th day? So, what happens after that? What actions do we need to take? It seems like calling the USCIS doesn't help.

I have a question for the forum, I just got off the phone with a tier2 representative, they recieved my paper work on the 15th and she says they uploaded my paperwork on the 21st. My EAD was approved and I have to wait until 90days from April 15 to recieve it. Now I got a job offer to start early July , I don't understand if there is nothing pending on the case why they don't go ahead and produce the card?
Hi Blessboy7, how did you know your EAD was approved? Do you already have it online or were you informed by the Tier 2 representative?
WE actually have the same timeline and have problems accessing the status online. I still can't access my EAD and AP case numbers online.

Hello guys,
I'm going to two interviews tomorrow, so I have a question about the EAD and SSN.
SSN card says "valid for work only with DHS authorization" -- is this EAD card??
I don't have my EAD card yet, but hopefully this week. I just want to make sure, so I know when they ask me tomorrow.
Thank you!
Your EAD card is different from your SSN card.
You can have your SSN changed and have that "restriction" removed once your have your greencard. You have to go back to the SSA office for them to remove the "Valid for work only with DHS authorization", but you can already start working once you have the EAD. The EAD is the DHS authorization that you need so you can work.

I filed April 15th and already had my biometrics appointment 3 weeks ago and my MSC case numbers aren't in the system yet I guess and I haven't heard anything
Any advice?
We have the same timeline. I sent my application on April 15th and got the notice on April 22. My I-485 says "Case is Ready to be scheduled for an Interview since May 30 but EAD and AP doesn't have any status, still validation error.
Hi,
It's been ten days that my i-485 says online "Case ready for interview" I checked my AP and EAD but still it says error.. I am worried now.. Who else has the same situation as me?
Mine says "Case is Ready to be scheduled for an Interview" since May 30. Haven't received any letter for the appointment yet.
-
Does that mean I won't be receiving anY RFE anymore?
-
Finally, I already have a status online for my I-485 "Case is ready to be scheduled for interview". Is there any chance that they might waive my interview?
For my EAD & AP - still no status online.
-
Hi, we have almost the same timeline and I'm from SFO too. ?My case is also finally updated, ready to be scheduled for interview! My receipt numbers weren't recognized until now.
I've been having problems with the online updates too. Well, still can't check my status online till now so I really can't check on the progress of my case. I had my bio appt last May 13 and haven't received any letters in the mail. So, now I don't know what I'm waiting for.

Hi, I'm from San Francisco too an April filer. I haven't received any schedule yet for interview. My case says "Ready to be scheduled for interview" since May 30.
