who is traveling to the USA(new York) from Lagos Nigeria via royal air maroc on September 9. the plane gonna have a long layover in Casablanca in Morocco 17 hours. darn I think am gonna need a travel buddy lol.

Lagos is 14 days from interview. You can not go by it saying Issued. Most embassies now update 1 to 3 days after interview Issued and printed and its not even ready.

Seems Issued is the New Approved.

I want to ask how long will it take for the visa to be available at the pick up centre? a friend said once the ceac said the visa has been printed it means its available at the pick up centre how true is that?

thanks dwheels...the ceac said your case is undergoing necessary administrative processing when your visa is approved u will get it in one or two business day. I emailed the embassy to ask for an update they replied by saying your message has been sent to the appropriate unit they will contact me soon.

I had my interview on may 3(cr1) VO said everything is good but she needs me to submit a joint sponsor at the drop off center in Lagos. I submitted the joint sponsor form and the last 3 years taxes on may 6, I was told at the Dhl office to come back 10 working days for my visa. it was 10 working days yesterday visa not issued yet. here is the question how long does it take to get my visa in this case and also since may 11 I have had 4 updates on my case may 11,18,19,and 20th. does updates means my visa is gonna be issued next week? pls if u have experience about this kindly comment. thanks

@ samuuel75, I was in the same line with you, on my interview day the co gave me a white paper for green card said she dont want me to come to the embassy again but i should look for a joint sponsor and submit it to the location center circle that visa would be ready in 2 weeks after getting it. But i will like to know if the joint sponsor send you the original paper or scan it to you to submit at dhl office ?

oh sorry for the late reply u just need a scan copy cos that's what I submitted too. they said to come pick my visa up in 10 working days. make sure u have the last 3 years most recent taxes of your joint sponsor that's what I submitted. by the way are u the guy in suit that day and what color of suit are u wearing.

Depends how much her retirement is for her household plus you. Because its retirement the CO may reject it if its minimal amount seeing this is the money she is living off of.

Also her age matters also. Many embassies will not take an elderly person since this is a 10 year commitment and this is retirement money.

For Lagos they don't take long after you submit the proper documents and they verity them 2 to 4 weeks.

Make sure your MIL explains why she doesn't file taxes an has proof of her US citizenship, LPR status or Naturalization.

If the joint sponsor qualifies comfortably, and that is the only issue, the visa should be issued within a month of them getting all the forms.

can her mother be the joint sponsor she's retired but getting paid and she not doing taxes. is she qualified?

I went for my cr1 interview today. the co asked me the following questions who is calling you. I told her. she said how did u meet I told her. she asked for more pictures and she checked it all and ask the visits for it pictures whether it was the first visits or second I told. she said everything looks good just tell your wife to look for a joint sponsor to sign the affidavits of support then take it to this collection centre for your visa. when she saw the worriness on my face she said u don't need another interview just get the papers and submit it to the collection centre everything looks good. then she gave me a paper to show my wife on how to pay for my green card. pls everyone if I take the joint sponsor to the address how long before I get my visa at hand. if u have been in this situation let me know your reviews on it. I had my interview at the nigeria embassy in Lagos. thanks

You may be right about the address, but the fee isn't fixed. You need to see the Doctor before concluding on the Vaccines to get. I paid less than most people on the same day I went to Children Place simply because I have had Chicken pox in time past Others haven't had it so they paid more. While others were paying N25, 000 and above on Vaccination, I paid less than N10, 000. Just on Vaccines, other payment plans remain same based on the Country you'll be travelling to.

And Yes, Q-Life seems to be the best based on what others who went there have shared with me. I really wished I had gone there.

I want ask the house two questions firstly my interview is on may 3 and I would like to know the cheapest clinic to do the medical cos am planning to go do it next and hopefully I will get the result that week too.am below 30 years of age. secondly I would like to know list of documents to bring as proof of relationship since Lagos is considered high fraud. my wife has been here twice first for the wedding and second time for the wedding anniversary in December. There's two in your wife's household size you and her she needs to make $19912.

As far as police certificate. Long as its submitted to NVC before the 3 months you are good or a year. No you need not get another for interview.No longer necessary.

If your wife has been living with her mother for longer than 6 months, her mother's income and assets can be included (not as a joint sponsor, but as a household member - same as a dependent), if you choose to include her in your "household size" by having her fill out and I-864a. I'm not sure about the fact that her income is from the government, but I think if her mother owns a house that might be considered good additional collateral to include to show she can support you (if your wife makes borderline or below 125% the poverty level for your household size).

But as stated above, if your wife makes above the 125% mark, I wouldn't worry about it.

okay chief I really appreciate shes above the poverty line so we wouldn't worry about asking her mom to be a joint sponsor again. I asked cos its better safe than sorry

By law, when an immigrant visa is being sought (to include a spousal visa), joint sponsors (joint sponsor is the proper term when referring to an I-864, not co-sponsor) may be used. All embassies and consulates follow the law in this regard.

hello VJs my wife petitioned for me Cr1 we are at the NVC stage. I have two question. 1. my wife is a clinical psychologist with a good pay we talked about asking her mom to stand as a co sponsor just in case we need one. her mom is a widow and retired chef. the govt is paying her as a widow she has her own house. my wife and her mother live alone in the house. my wife has no kid meaning no one is depending on her. can her mom be a co sponsor for us even though she is on a govt salary. second question about the police clearance am about to get one i read online on here its as good for 3 months only. in a situation whereby you got an interview after the police certificate expires are we to get a new one cos the police certificate. pls if u have your interview in Lagos embassy kindly tell me did u get a new one or use the one u submit to nvc. thanks

I've been through this process twice in the past two years. Make sure you give them exactly what they ask for, leave nothing out. Regular processing can be 10 business days, so make sure that you can get it back in time before the flight (if you already have flight dates). The acknowledgement and payment slip can be printed from the portal.

That the payment portal place that sent that. She needs exactly what the embassy request the acknowledgement. When you pay online which all have to do you print it. She needs to ask them for it she s paying them for service.

This is what is required to send in.
