  1. Calgary Police Service took around 3 weeks here.

Did you also get copies of your court records for the violation they found on your CRC report?

    Less than a week!

I've applied for the Digital [computer Scanned] check two times, One on the east coast and the other in Vancouver. In both cases I went to the city police, and in both cases I received the letter from Ottawa within 5-7 business days.

It's the letter with your photo, both thumbs and both index fingers on it with a certified RCMP stamp in the corner.

Not sure if it's longer for anyone outside of the country or for non-citizens.

sorry for the multiple posts with the same response - I'm trying to determine if the people who responded that it took less time than it did for us actually had a hit that needed to be researched by the RCMP or if they did not. I am assuming they did not, but I could be completely wrong...

  2. Hello All - as others may be interested in how long it actually took us, I'm replying to my original question. It took the full 120 business days to get the CRC back (~6 months). Note that there was a hit on the name check so we had to go through the entire process. My recommendation is that you don't make any near term plans if you know they will find something and you should plan on it taking the full time they say it will. Also, it is possible (likely) that your I-129f petition approval will expire before it comes back. Don't worry, the consulate can extend it when you go in for your interview.

  3. Hi guys. Which check do we get? The regular or the federal ? Thanks

I'm pretty sure that the ones that got it in less than a day or even hours were only name checks at local stations which is good enough if you have no record. I could be wrong. I'm specifically looking for the response time for people whose name checks came back with a record and require RCMP processing with fingerprints. We were told it would take 2-6 months or more.

  4. Hello all,

I'm wondering how long it really takes to get your CRC back from RCMP. I know they say 2-6 months, but how long did it really take for you to receive the report back? This question is specifically for those who were required to submit fingerprints because their name check came back with a record. Please don't respond to this thread saying fingerprints aren't needed - in some cases they are.

    Thanks!

  5. I'm wondering if the cost of the medical exam includes any needed vaccinations - provincial health doesn't cover Hep A & B and the shots are about 90$ for the first dose (course of 3 I know...) Would it be better to wait until the medical to get them done or to get them done at the local dr's before the medical? I'm not sure which center (MTL or Vancouver) we will land in (my fiance is in SK). Is there a difference?

    Thanks in advance all!
