I want to bring my husband to the US to live and work. We have discussed this for years, and I think we are ready to apply finally. We will apply from Canada. I am wondering once everything is approved, how long do we have to move? Can we get his green card and stay here while our house sells and we find jobs etc. is really what I am wondering.

Hi, we are just starting this process. Husband and I met online in 98, married in 99, I moved to Canada where we have lived for the last 12 years. We have a child who is 7. Now we are considering moving back home to the US. Obviously, I did the whole immigration thing to Canada several years ago, but the US is quite different.

The one thing that has me confused, and I have read several places, is do I have to move the US first without my family to immigrate my husband?

I know our daughter is automatically a dual citizen, we just need to file papers - which we did not do yet.

Ok I guess there is one more thing I am wondering, once it's all approved how long do we have to move? We have a house etc to sell here first.
