  1. Your AP isn't the background check sort. Your AP is the sort where the visa is being printed. If they didn't put you in the 221(g) AP, your wait should be shorter. However, while the majority of cases that hit this stage go fast (some as fast as a few hours or days), I am seeing that some are slower. I seen another case that is in your AP for over a month! Yours might not last that long, though. You may want keep contacting the embassy on the progress.

I am stuck in 'Ready'. My next step should be the NIV AP. It's unbelievably frustrating.

  2. Hello VJ member!

My Fiancé had his interview on 08/26/15 and Consular gave him a paper that said he was approved.

Until, now we have not receive the visa yet! Had anyone had a long wait, from Haiti on a K1 visa being issued? I send a email to the help desk and this is the last response I got from them.

Please be advised that some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after your interview with a consular officer. You will be advised of this possibility during your interview. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of your visa interview. When additional administrative processing is required, the length of processing time will vary based on the circumstances of each case. You are reminded to apply early for your visa, well in advance of your anticipated date of travel.

If the U.S. Embassy or Consulate requested additional information or documentation from you, you must submit those documents at a Port Au Prince Post document collection office.
