I do know of situations similar to yours where they were petitioning a parent and there was a variance between the petitioner's BC (you) and reality ...all got their visas and moved on with life, and this is what I based my comment on ... not just a hollow opinion.

 

A BC listing a false marriage and/or having a father's name (who isn't really a husband) listed is very common in the Phils ... all in an effort to avoid the stigma of "illegitimate".

Anyway, I was just really wanting to prepare what I might end up needing to do to avoid the denial (worst case scenario)  or 221g that would take forver to obtain. I would hate for the medical to expire, and I'm dreading for her to go through the sputum again. But I'm keeping my faith !.

Hello folks, please help enlightening me. I thought I didn't want /need to post this question here because I know it's all gonna be case to case basis anyway. But here it goes. I am US citizen and I am petitioning for my mother to come here in the US, and her interview is fast approaching, next week actually. 

She just got done with her sputum culture and Thank God, she passed. Anyway, my very concern is the false date and marriage of her and my father on my BC. I didn't know about it until I was going through documents to petition for her. I know about her not ever being married but not about that error on my BC. My mom was never never married and she has already secured A cenomar for that, which she will pick up tomorrow so its fresh and new for her interview next week. She has it for both names. Btw, her name on my BC and her bc are different but I got that part all taken care of prior to petitioning for her and her acquiring passport for the first time. I have a seperate topic about that for readers to follow in case you find yourself in the same situation as mine. I got it corrected, got the certificate of finality and now the annotation on her bc stating xyz is one and the same with Maria xyz. So anyway, asked  her to get cenomar for both, nbi clearance for both with the other one as AKA

My question, I'm worried about any issue that might come up that I would like to prepare myself for. I was wanting to join her during her interview, but my impulse in rebooking got the better of me..ughh..and it'll be too expensive to change now with the interview being next week.

Anyone experienced this? Is that D and p of marriage on my bc going to be an issue and what 221g might I be expecting here?.I'm worried they will want that corrected and it'll take forever to get that done and the medical be expired and go through sputum again  plus I'm already a citizen, how's that gonna affect me? I'm going crazy here. Please enlighten me and that might help me understand..

Just wanting to have an idea on when does st Luke's normally call or when does the sputum turn positive if it is? Were halfway through and I know, it's not over until it's over. Just wanting to have an idea is all! Thank u!

Ok. So this is for my mom's petition, ir5. She is 59 and will have to attend the seminar. Not the GCP, but that R&R. Question: she hasn't had her interview yet, hence, no visa number. It is specifically asked in the online registration form to successfully schedule, to provide the visa number and issuance date? It won't let me click next unless I provide the info on that blank. I thought it is still okay to do advanced seminar? Please help. And also, we're from davao so I'm just really hoping to get this out of the way 

I asked question about expedite as well but didn't get a straight answer. Luckily, I got a response from NVC itself. Anyway, to answer your 1st Q, they sent my paperwork within 24 hrs. I'm from Philippines tho. Your next questions, can't answer yet. It is still in transit as we speak. Just got approved with my expedite 2 days ago

Yeah that's right. But they do forward the nvc request to the embassy. So it is still up to the embassy. I know about separate expedite request. I'm not worried about embassy expedite. Just wanting at least the nvc expedite which is still dependent on embassys decision. But anyway, I was wanting for more like specific timeline for expedite request response from people who actually sent them. Denied or approved doesn't matter. 

Hi all. Just wanting to know if anyone has recently within the last year preferably has sent an expedite request to NVC? I sent mine on Thursday and haven't gotten response yet. Just wanting to have an idea when USEm might respond to the expedite request. And also, is it difficult to get one with USem manila? Thanks!

Not sure if a thread has already been started for Sept filers, but just wanted to know if there has been any approvals yet? I sent mine on Sept 27, 2016, priority date Sept 29, and Oct 5 was when I received the NoA 1.. still waiting for that good news, the approval.. nyone else? Was routed to Potomac service center btw, not sure if that's a good thing. thanks all!

Thanks for the quick response. She was never married, and could very well provide a cenomar. But considering there's a marriage date on my bc for my parents, won't she be questioned for it? And she does not have a passport yet , never had any. so I guess that's good - less complications right there..if we go by what's on her bc, then mine needs correction to match her bc then?

I never cared, but as I asked my mom about it, she said it was all for legitimacy purposes that I may carry my father's last name. Question: How do we go about this? Considering I have no plans on ever petitioning for my dad, will my mom be asked for her "marriage certificate" anytime in the process? like maybe during NVC? or interview? Please enlighten me!

and by the way, my mom used her maiden name as my mother's name on my birth certificate despite the supposed fake marriage date.

2) My mom's name on my birth certificate doesn't quite match what's on her birth certifcate. Her name in the registry for birth or in NSO, is Maria Mitzi but on my birth certificate, she only used Mitzi as her first name. How do I do move forward? As I research on that RA 9048 or whatever that is, we're leaning on getting her birth certificate corrected to just using Mitzi, in other words, omit the Maria, to match what's reflected on my birth certificate? Is this the right thing to do, or is it my birth certificate that needs corrected? If my birth certificate needs correction, as well as correcting this "fake marriage date" they put on my bc, how will that affect me now that I am a US citizen? please please, i would appreciate if my fellow filipinos would chime in to help me on this one! I know what the standard timeframe is. I'm asking for personal experiences. Did you have yours processed there?.for how long was it?

hey Scube, was your check cleared in New Orleans? you have any idea where your passport was processED?

I don't think mine was cleared by New Orleans.. but I could be wrong.. it didn't say anything about New Orleans though

Got an email this morning that my passport application was processed and that I should get it in the mail by Tuesday!

It took us around 3 weeks for non-expedited which is not bad!!

Hi all. Just wanted to ask if anybody here has had their checks cleared as (New Orleans Passport) of some sort thus processed at that passport agency? I will greatly appreciate your response.. Just wondering how long it took for your passport to be processed from application to receipt of US Pp non-expedited..thanks!
