I received the passport the day AFTER my oath. I was first in line when they opened at the Chicago Passport Agency. My application was accepted at 9:09am, and the passport book & card were ready at 1:15pm.

I booked a trip to Canada for tomorrow, to comply with the policies of the office for same day service. I also made my appointment 2 weeks ago.

Thanks for the information. Since you are traveling you were eligible to apply at Chicago Passport agency. we do not have immediate plans for travel so I'd think we'll go to post office for regular application. But good to know of this option just in case.

were you able to get your passport on same day of oath? how did long it took for u to get passport? my wife is scheduled to get oath soon at chicago so would like to know.

My Spouse successfully completed interview last month and this week received notification of oath scheduled. My case still in the same status- application received. Online check says you are within processing time frame. Will wait patiently until time comes.

any one knows when and where Chicago oath ceremonies are held? I do not see any dates on the links for Naturalization ceremonies Chicago.

if i do not live in Chicago city /county but in suburbs and different county - do we still come under Chicago court area for ceremony?

My attorney opened the Service request with USCIS. He told me if you are within the processing time frame its USCIS discretion if they are willing to open service request.

any updates on your case? I have been waiting patiently so far. (Finger print done since July 13) I tried to open request online through USCIS site but getting message - you are under normal processing time" so unable to do so.

Would making info pass appointment be helpful?

So I opened up official service request with USCIS since there is no progress in my case since I did Finger prints since 07/06/2015 almost three months. Here is the official reply.

" Due to excessive work load that is not related to your case we are anticipating delay in processing your case. USCIS is committed to adjudicate cases in order they are received. We apologize for any inconvenience "

What the fish ! I thought they will say case is pending security background check or within normal processing time. This is strange reply, any thoughts !

I am also in similar situation, my FP was done on 7/13 and since then no update on my case whatsoever. My wife who applied with me has her case udpated for interview but not mine.

GM, I am also in similar situation, Me and my wife applied together , we have same GC dates and we received NOA and then fingerprint letter same time. we completed bio metrics on same date. Since then My application status shows the same status as application received.

while her case status has been updated to Inline for interview and now her interview is scheduled.

our field office is Chicago.

Application was sent June 13, 2015.

NOA received June 27, 2015.

Bio Metric completed - July 13, 2015.

Wife has interview scheduled in second week of Oct.

What are steps for me to check why my application is not updated/processed yet?

am i eligible to do info pass?
