  1. yup my husband earn more than 20,000 per annum....

thank you so much for the info.

again thanx. now i feel better...

First of all, a I-864 was submitted, correct? Was it by your husband(the sponsor of your visa petition) and he met the poverty guidelines -- roughly $15,500/yr? If so, then you do not need to be concerned with the I-864A.

The I-864A is required when the sponsor does not meet the poverty guidelines with their income/assets. It is an affidavit of support for householod members. If a sponsor lives at home (i.e. family, friends), they would fill out the I-864 and the household member would fill out the I-864A. Their combined income would be seen as meeting the poverty guidelines. If the sponsor had no household members and did not meet the poverty guidelines, he would need a joint-sponsor to complete a I-864, which can be completed by anyone unrelated to him and willing to use their income to meet the poverty guidelines.

  2. hi... thanx a lot for the info... but i have a confusion about I-1864A. Do we still have to file I-1864A if we are living with my husband's family, parents, uncle & aunt, two sisters, the other one is single and has a job and the other one has her own family with two kids but unemployed and his husband was laid off form his job but earning form the EDD... my husband has a job and earning $10.77/hr plus commission...

we already filed the AOS and the I-864, my another question is, how many shld be our sponsor's household size??? because in our form that we submitted, we only answered one, since he is not obligated to support his family.. is that right or wrong?? shld we file for the I-864A? what shld we do??? plsssssss help....

Here is the link to the newest I-864 formm expires 9/30/06:

  3. Hi... what is I-1854A?? do we still need to file this one??? i already submiited our affidavit of support without I-864A, a contract between a sponsor and a household member.... we are living with his family, his parents, his 2 sister, the other got her own family with two kids. his parents are retired and earnig pentions, his youngest sister has a job and my husband also has a job. what do i do... i didnt know about this form and i dont have any idea about this...does anyone know about this??? plssssssssss help...

    thanx a lot

  4. hi! thanx for the reply... but my husband is not supporting them, they have their own income, his parents are retired professionals, his sister got his own family and his youngest sister has her own job... thats the reason why i didnt include them.... but im confused because the question was, number of persons related to you by birth.... what will i do?

You could fill out another Affid. of Support to take with you to the interview. Assuming that your sponsor's income still meets the Poverty Guidelines for 6 people (not 5, because there's 2 parents, 2 sisters, and you 2, for a total of 6), then there shouldn't be a problem.

    Good luck at your interview.

  5. hi!! my question is regarding name change.... In the Philippines after marriage we take our husband's last name and our maiden name becomes our middle name.... Eg... Maiden Name: Jenny D. Lopez, married to Dan O. Friaz.... the married name would be : Name: Jenny; Middle Name: Lopez; Last Name: Friaz....

Is that okay to file that name in my I-485 , EAD as my name???? (Not on other names used)

secondly; if i change my name, is it also necessary to change my signature??? ussually my signature includes my first name and last name...

    thanx a lot!!!
