  1. Salam, today I was able to schedule the medical exam which is going to be on March 3rd. This is the earliest appointment I can find and my wife's interview will be on Feb 16th which is little bit over two weeks before the medical exam date. my question now that how long it will take to receive the visa with the passports after they receive the medical exam results?

    What country!?

  2. Salam everyone, AllahmedAllah we got the interview date today after long wait. my interview date is on February 16th at 10am. The only problem is that they didn't send me the interview latter that was suppose to be attached to the email. From my understanding that I will need it to schedule a medical test and the way to enter the embassy. Any one had this problem before?

    What country

And how long did you wait from case compete till interview date??

  3. Did NVC tell you why your case has not transferred to the Embassy?

They said they're not going to transfer the case until there's an appointment has been scheduled for me

Did NVC tell you why your case has not transferred to the Embassy?

They said they're not going to transfer the case until there's an appointment has been scheduled for me

  4. A very helpful hint is to STOP emailing the embassy!!!! They get about 2000 emails a day and thy never view them. They send automated emails. What me and my husband did was contact the embassy by sending them letters via UPS to the Embassy in Algeria. They responded to us as soon as they recieved the letters! Try that and it will work without a doubt! Good luck everyone!!!

But my case still at the nvc its been completed for 3 months but still at NVC ??

  5. have you called NVC? if not, I would suggest you call them. They operate from 7am to Midnight EST time from Monday to Friday. since your case is still at NVC, they might be abe to give you some info.

My case took it a week for it to go to Egypt from NVC but 4 months from Egypt to Algeria. US embassy in Algeria received my files (physical and electronic) by 11/19/2015. Since then I have been waiting for interview. I emailed the embassy last week and surprisingly replied to me and told me that they have my case and that I need to wait until they give me an appointment.

    I call nvc 2 times a week

They saying case completed waiting for interview appointment to be scheduled thats it

Then he told me give theme a month if you don't hear anything let us know so we can make a second inquire we waited one moth I didn't heard anything i called the congressman he made a second inquire they reply saying wait thats it then congressman said wait till 2/3/2016 now im waiting im afraid they ganna keep saying "wait" ????

  7. since I asked for case transfer? 5 months

since my case has been "ready" at algeria? 3 months

My case was in Cairo? something with physical file I'm guessing? idk but my husband was able to talk to someone in algeria and get an appointment for next month its not an interview but it will get his foot in the door to hopefully do something or give us an interview because they stopped responding to my emails.

  8. Hi everyone,

I want to share some info I got today while I was at the Yemen embassy in Alger. So I want to the Yemen embassy trying to get police certificate for my wife and while I was there I shared my story regarding my wife's US immigrant visa and how the US embassy not doing good enough to communicate with us. It turned out that I was taking to Mr. Faroq the US ambassador to Algeria which I didn't know he was the Ambassador until we left the embassy. Here is what I was able to gather:

    • US and Yemen consulate met twice before and after Eid regarding US Yemeni cases and how to improve and speed up the process.
    • added employees from Yemen and south America to US embassy in Alger in the past month to specifically help with IV cases.
    • Yemeni IV cases are given higher priority over other cases.
    • US Embassy in Algeria now is the primary location for Yemen IV cases. All new cases will transfer to Algeria by default. Old cases are given priority over new submitted cases.

I also asked if we could extend the stay in Algeria after the 90 days period and the answer was yes but they do not recommend coming here until you have an appointment date. I think that is a very good advise especially now:)

    Thank u so much

    بارك الله فيك
